    I'm a mom with 4 kids so I know this next sentence sounds crazy. You're home sounds so peaceful. Watching the cows graze in their new ultra green grass with no cars whipping by and no neighbors within 10 feet of your home. Thank you for sharing your piece of the God's gift.

    Watching your animals is super important, it is never wasted time. There's an old saying: The eye of the master fateneth the cattle.

    If I remember right you are the ones that are planting things to feed your animals to help supplement feed cost.
    I bought one bamboo plant in 2020 and spilt it in two and planted them. I just did my first trimmings and I was able to supplement the bamboo leaves in place of hay feeding for two days. The cows loved it.

    There’s nothing lazy about homesteading. 💕 you guys are doing great with your milk cow. It’s been fun to watch your milk cow journey. We have been doing family milk for 2 1/2 years now and it’s been one the biggest joys in my life. I can totally relate to watching your cow. Your video is a good reminder for us all...sit and back enjoy all the success and joy that your farm brings. It’s easy to get caught up in the business and hustle of it all. 💕💕💕💕💕💕

    Your pastured chickens would LOVE to scratch through those Goldie Pies 🥧 😋
    On the theme of "watch your cow for 10 mins/day...it's very therapeutic": I use the Parelli level 1 on-line seven games with our calves. Makes for tame, confident cattle that are easy to move, hoof trim, etc because there's an established "language". Incredibly therapeutic for me and the animals love it...cattle, horses, chickens, dogs, kids...husband 😀 🤣
    Also, what's your energizer setup?

    • @BetterTogetherLife
      @BetterTogetherLife  2 года назад

      Yup!! We take that poop and dump it in the chickens poultry netting. And they scratch through it all and spread it out! 😁😁

    Fellow shed to house owner and homesteader here 😊 What is the brand/name of your electric moveable fence? It looks like it came with everything needed with lighter posts rather than buying than the poly wire reels I’ve seen and also having to drive metal t posts. I’d like to move my Holstein around and this just looks easiest! Thanks so much 💕

    • @BetterTogetherLife
      @BetterTogetherLife  Год назад

      Hey! In this video, we are using Gallagher fencing, reels, and step in posts. Our local feed store supplies most of it. And I think you can just find the rest online.
      .
      We aren’t sponsored by them, but honestly like the product so much that we would partner with them in a heartbeat! I hope that helps 🤗

    Hello, I am looking to buy a cow to milk, a miniature one would be great. Do you have any suggestions? I am very new to living the country only three years. But I’ve had no animals so far. I am looking to do chickens, bees and a cow milk. Why do you throw away the first gallon? And I would love a list of things that you would think would be important to start milking a cow. Literally I’m from the city lol

    • @BetterTogetherLife
      @BetterTogetherLife  Год назад +1

      I wouldn’t buy a miniature Jersey, they are VERY expensive. Instead, I would find a nice midsize Jersey, learn the ropes of hand milking, and then breed her (artificial Insemination) back to a miniature bull.
      Then that will give you a smaller calf, and then do it again and you’ll have yourself a small herd.

      We do work from home. We even teach people how to live this life in our ebook and course.
      GetOffYourTail.com
      Quick explanation, we started selling essential oils in 2013, made enough to pay our monthly bills, I quit my job as a video producer at our church in 2015, we bought land in 2015, we started a RUclips channel and other ways to monetize our life, moved to our homestead in 2018.
      Been here ever since! 😁😁😁
