Lady Sif was a feared Asgardian warrior and a good friend of Thor and the Warriors Three. When Thor almost provoked a war with the Frost Giants and ended up powerless on Earth, Sif and her friends disobeyed the orders of their new king Loki and went to Earth to save their friend. Thanks to them, Thor returned to Asgard, and Loki's reign of terror ended.

Lady Sif is one of the most underrated characters in the MCU, in my opinion.

If Lady Sif were there, she would've been named Queen of Asgard. I don't even know why Valkyrie was named that, except that she was the only one who could rule besides Thor. Sif has proven her loyalty to Asgard. Valkyrie has not. Though I get why Valkyrie left Asgard she still hasn't proven her worthiness to rule at all.
Valkyries are legendary in norse mythology and some of the purest and most powerful beings Lady Sif is great, but there is no one more fit for the spot as ruler of Asgard than her and when it mattered she returned and helped save Asgard

Norse mythology has her marrying Thor at some point, so I kind a want to see that happen in a later movie.

Sif was originally supposed to appear in Thor 3 movie, but Jaimie Alexander's shooting schedule for the third season of Blindspot (2015) clashed with this movie's schedule. It was decided to have the character written out, with producer Kevin Feige saying that Sif was off on a mission during Ragnarök.
In the mythology, Sif was Thor’s wife and the goddess of fertility and harvest.

Sif deserves better
The upcoming films should include her. She serious enough of a representative that she was entrusted with the Reality Stone Aether transportation. Given her work with SHIELD, too, she would be a good liason between New Asgard and the human governments, especially with the fallout from CA:CW, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Wandavision, Secret Invasion, She-Hulk, and Brave New World making enhanced people targets. Asgardians by default are like a whole comuunitiy of supersoldiers.

She couldn't commit to a Marvel schedule as long as she had her series BLINDSPOT to film. That's usually the case. You have a contract for a TV series and that stops you from making movies (or TV episodes for a competing network). Right now she is beholden to NBC. Agents of SHIELD is ABC and of course the MCU requires you to be available on THEIR schedule, not yours. If her show ends I'd love to see her reprise Lady Sif. The fans would love to see her back

It's based on the comics version of Sif, which in turn is simply a loose adaptation of Norse mythology. That's the thing: ADAPTATION. And not even meant to be mythology accurate in the first place. I don't see the problem.
