I met Dolly once, and the aura of benevolence and love that she radiated was off-the-charts. I actually began seriously assessing whether she was an angel -- that's not hyperbole - no one before or since has ever made me wonder that!
Read her book Dolly is a hoot. Lot’s of laughter! Always wanted to spend a day with her. She is just what the Dr. orders when you have hit rock bottom. But like she says you have to loose it all to know what you really had.
Thanks! When my husband and I visit Gatlinburg, we always go to Alewine Pottery Shop to get pottery. I have several coffee mugs and lots of other items also. You can even get custom designs made as well. The owner is always at the shop and so friendly. Their pottery is a bit pricey, but it's so worth every penny! Here's the link if you want to check them out. www.alewinepottery.net/
Dollywood is one of my favorite places to visit, since Gaylord decided to close down our theme park (Opryland) to build a mall in it's place. Dolly was working with Gaylord to build a water park just across from Briley Parkway where the mall was placed until that was shot down also. Residents from all around are still bitter about that. Dollywood isn't that far and somewhat resembles Opryland. My husband and I were talking the other day about all the great memories we could've had with our grandbabies if Opryland was still around. Thanks for watching! 😊
In many places, "traditional" corn pone is made w/ only cornmeal, bacon grease, water, & salt. With Dolly's recipe, the addition of milk & flour practically makes this cornbread (minus an egg). I have also seen "corn pone" recipes w/ the exact same ingredients as "cornbread". And let's not even bring up the Caribbean, where "pone" appears to be either a wet, moist, mushy corn cake OR a corn meal pudding (made w/ coconut milk). Guess "pone" means lots of different things in different places.
What's the ingredients again, got distracted during ur 1st part ingredients. Thank u for ur cooking and ur recipes and ur videos, I try to cook everything u make, and it's good
Baking grease? I’m from uk and I’ve NEVER heard of this as an ingredient…is it bacon fat? We don’t even readily have cornmeal….it’s just not a common thing here…nobody eats cornbread over here

I’m a little jealous. I’d love to meet her. She’s such and amazing person. She very well could be an Angel. 🪽

Oh hot water Cornbread 😂
What is baking grease?
Bacon grease
Seems to me like these would do better fried on top of the stove in cast iron
Doesn't matter how you cook them. They're good either way. Thanks for watching!

Hi Josephine, The recipe is in the description section of the video. I hope you enjoy! 😋
Put bacon grease in microwave luge u melt butter so u get all of it out 🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐
Why do you use 2%? The nutrients are in the butter fat.

You don’t know what you’re missing. Cornbread is delicious!
Bacon grease, not baking
And yes it's bacon fat 😂.
And... you can be the first to introduce cornbread to your community. It is great savory or sweet.
