    Different from the way my family makes it because of two things: drain the peaches before spooning them on top and Do Not Stir. That way your cobbler "bread" rises to the top and isn't gooey or soupy.

    • @HowDoYouCookBackToBasics
      @HowDoYouCookBackToBasics  3 года назад +8

      I like the soupy gooey cobbler. A dry cobbler just doesn't appeal to me. To each his own.

      @firstnamelastname4427 3 года назад +12

      @@HowDoYouCookBackToBasics My grandma would always drain off just about half of the juice so it would be just the right amount of moisture, not too dry and not too goopy. She would add a tsp of vanilla to her batter and also mixed in cinnamon, brown sugar to the peaches before adding them to the batter.

    • @SSSSongbird

      I'm diabetic as well...I used peaches in natural juice not Syrup. And used Truvia I personally don't like the taste of Swerve unless I have to use the powder version for frosting. And I found unsweetened evaporated milk. Sugar content in Almond milk is higher than regular milk unless you get the unflavored and Unsweetened almond milk which is terrible. And no, DO NOT STIR it...🙂

      Evaporated milk a no no, I have used in my past but after reading the content I changed this recipe to 3/4 cup of Milk and 1/2 cup of Greek Yogurt. Cooking time is longer also I did use a stick of butter but next time I will cut that in half or 1/2 cup of butter 1/2 cup Canola Oil. I have sugared my Cinnamon and enjoy a good sprinkle on this recipe.The Cobbler was delicious ! I also if caned Peaches put them in a strainer didn't use the juice. Tons of sugar not necessary. I'm a food scientist at heart and a great cook. Just try it ... don't undercook. Anita Gunderson
