X4 Foundations: 7.10 Beta 1 - Improved Terran Meson Stream weapon by adding small gimbal.

Oooooo this is going to be great for my all Terran fleets. Time to test it out and see if it helps the AI at all.

I kinda doubt that "small gimbal" will help the AI.🤔 But, test away. 😁

Btw, NPCs also use the weapon. So oneshots of the player's ship are expected as well I assume.

I have the feeling that the "small gimbal" help only the player.🤔
Besides, given how the AI use the meson stream in my tests from back in the day, I suspect they have at least an impaired vision, to avoid calling them blind. 🤓

Looks great, with some form of sequence fire (weapon group after group) would be amazing.

Reluctant to give up my proton barage "safety net", but full meson, 2 by 2, might be fun.

Meson no longer fixed weapon? - sorry I i have been using my own "no fixed weapon". So mesonis tracking now?

All I know is that I used to suck at aiming with meson and now I'm freaking surgical with it. 😁

@@ragnos28 I see, they added tracking, but only 10%-ish degree, which mean the tracking box-range is very small, and with an aveage speed. My own mod is 20-25% - and very low speed, otherwise terran S-M ships AI with meson stream are simple too powerfull in any fights.
They made tracking box smaller than mine but with higher move speed.
Oh this is exciting.
if I didn't make tracking move speed low, the Terran S-M dominate any other S-M class if they use meson.
They made tracking area smaller but faster tracking speed compared to my mod.
- The balance team nearly came to the same conclusion as I did.
The reason for the small "tracking area" is likely to avoid it became easy capital killer.
- and give player S-M ships a chance lol.
I quess you are going to have fun with this. I will when I get some time off to play.

@@demi_narch8674 It has the potential to become one of the most fun weapons for M ships, even tho only the terrans can use it. So, I guess Katana will become my favorite M ship for personal use, Well, it was amoung my favorites already, but this will move it to the top. 😉
A viewer suggested a 2 by 2 meson config, to fire one set and then the other, and I intend to test it. 😁

@@ragnos28 i pity th kha'ak lol. Wonder if s-class meson also got upgrade. Because then I pity any s-m ships fighting terrans. However maybe that the reason for the small tracking area. Can't wait to come home and test it out.
