X4 Foundations: Demonstrating the attack turrets command

  • Hello everybody,
    A while back a viewer asked me if the attack command works.
    Welp, I usualy give a link to one of my tests, but in this case I could not find one that is relevant, hence this clip.
    I think it works, I just wish that the fighters would not use the travel drive like it was payed from their own pockets...

    Impressive, sometimes X4 does showcase what a good AI and strategy could do gameplay wise. Never thought beams could be that effective against turrets.

      The burts rays (the purple beams) are actually design to take out surface elements, and have increased dmg against them. 🤓

    That was surprisingly effective. You talked about this in the comments of the other video. The efficiency with which the AI was able to attack turrets was, as I just said, surprising. I didn’t stand a chance. And then some beauty shots of some amazing spaceships.

      Yes, fighters AI works, not perfect by any means, but enough to be my "refuge" from the derpy destroyers.
      And yes, beauty shots of spaceships, during fleet combat, is what X4 is all about, imo. No one does it better, and so I'm "stuck" on X4.

    Nice video, thanks for posting. I'm new and trying to figure out how to do what you've done. What is the reason for the two different kinds of weapons please?

      While the burt ray has increased dps against surface elements, its normal dps is low. So, I need another set of weapons to allow the fighters, that actually serve as interceptors, to have normal dps as well. And I choose beams because, one, I like the esthetic of full beams, second, I got tired of bolts always missing (good dmg tho).

    I am still not sure if it would not be better to kill the I asap, i mean it would took nearly the same time. But i am also testing around with some Asp Raider with 1x blue laser as interceptor/turret killer.I was very dissapointed from Kalis in this role.

      You mean just let the destroyers take care of it? C'mon...you know I trust destroyers as far as I can throw them. 😁
      Is one of the reasons I will no longer keep and M ship as turrets on Odysseus...too much hastle to replace them when they will inevitably do something stupid.
      As for the fighters mentioned, I think I need at minimum 4 weapons slots, to have enough fire power to still act as interceptors that in down time can be used for defanging.
