As I woman, I think it is reasonable that if a woman works out and takes care of herself in the beginning, to expect her to continue. If the girl stopped doing those things (and the guy still continues), that is selfish on her part. Maybe the guy is coming on too strong by expressing unequivocal love and affection too soon, and the girl perceives that as permission to get comfortable and lazy.
