The "honeymoon phase" was simply your bodies biological processes making you ready to procreate. People need to be able to objectively understand who and what they want from a person long term. The other issue is that it’s almost impossible to find someone who is a perfect match. Two whole lives of experience aren’t exactly easy to just throw together and figure out within a reasonable time frame. It takes years to truly understand and get someone.
