Going to church as an atheist to meet women is probably not a great idea. I mean you might be able to get some hookups with people who aren't as religious. But if someone who comes from the church background, most people from church are really wanting a partner especially for the long term that is on the same page with them as far as religious beliefs go. And in terms of major components of marital stress, one of the most common reasons that marriages and long term relationships start to have issues is differing religious beliefs. So if the goal is to settle down then you don't want to find somebody who differs in religious beliefs.

I’m an atheist who goes to church. Theres a lot of atheists that attend the church I go to. It’s pretty common. It’s a Unitarian Universalist church. They’re so super liberal and accepting of literally everyone that you could be a monotheist, polytheist, or an atheist and they don’t care. Maybe check out a UU church if there’s one around you.

I'd bet there are many that claim to be atheists though they actually practice something more similar to agnosticism. Those that practice religion probably tend to view atheist as evil, satanic, mislead and someone to be weary of. To be honest, Atheism is basically just the Nemesis of Christianity at this point. I don't live in America anymore, but from when I did live there. My family and I went to alot of Motivational Speaker concerts. A few of the Motivational Speakers were Christian and very aggressive towards Homosexuals. When we were in Florida there was a group of young men that harrassed the local pastor because they wouldn't let them back into the church due to them being Homosexuals. What I do not understand is why Atheism keeps attacking Organized Christianity for being against Homosexuals when 9/13 other major world religions are against Homosexuality. The Bible if often misread and used to take advantage of the Rich and Poor, but it just seems like the Left (Atheism) V Right (Christianity) but made to look like it actually matters.

Agnosticism is rooted in knowledge, if you say you're agnostic it means you don't possess the knowledge to make the claim that there is or isn't a god, that is the most reasonable position to take from point of view,. You can be an atheist and also an agnostic since atheism is about BELIEF not knowledge.
