Inigo Montoya - "I'll read your book. IF you beat me in the dominance hierarchy and remove the neo-marxist post-modernists mumbo jumbo from future comments." Peterson responding to himself after having self with his doppleganger.
Start a garden, start a community garden, then start a community co-op/saturday market. Build yourself and others around you up. If we all did that we'd all be more self sufitant and less prone to suffering in that regard. We gotta become like 60s hippies or mormons but the message is self suffiecentce and responsibility, and peaceful trading. It starts with us, ie us, (the individual).
@Jorge yeah it's best to gain as much insight as you possibly can. That's the problem with society these days, people are too quick to come to a conclusion and pin their ideologies to whatever mast they see as appropriate at the time. But we all need to reflect and question whatever loyalties we have, just in case we are seeing things through too tight a lens
He is fighting a ghost, he is fated to fail. He gave a meaning to a meaningless irrational tendency of today. For anyone who has read and study the themes he refers too he is only speaking nonsense (if not idiocy), but he construct a story that makes sense of the nonsense today. A classic fool, he will absolutly fail in his crusade.
I was nihilistic till I found Dr. Peterson, whenever I feel like giving up I always come and watch the videos and enlighten myself. Every video is worth watching. Thank you so much
Here watch this and call me in the morning. www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=%23&ved=2ahUKEwjmtNXpyobmAhVRtHEKHZZRCLcQwqsBMAB6BAgKEAU&usg=AOvVaw0VTJzWxrN8ZFOD4xbU2nov We will get you out of Peterson's cult.
I'm 24 and I've never really had a father figure around past the age of 1. I haven't even known of Peterson for more than a year, but since I've discovered him I can scarcely describe what's happened to me intellectually. He's taught me so much about my self... Not complex ideas really .. but that makes it so much more profound.. the simplicity of so much of it. I can't say Peterson is fulfilling the roll of a father for me, because you be truthful, I have no idea what that means. The precisness that I fall into the typical male viewer that he describes is somewhat startling really.. when he was talking about longing for responsibility, it's as thought he were talking specifically to me. Peterson is the north star in a midnight desert of nihilism.
Hey Evan, I feel the same. How do yu feel now, three years after posting this? How has your life changed? More incredible comments on how Peterson keeps positively influencing your life? Genuinely interested because I discovered him just a week ago and I'm in awe. Thanks.
Yeah I relate. I love freedom and my mom is the best, but she's always allowed me to escape responsibility and duty .. so I've come to a realization that I'm hella spoiled and now that I'm 21 I'm desperately trying to be more disciplined bc I know that the lack of responsibility is the only thing that is standing between me and my ambitions. But every time I try to be more disciplined and dutiful I fail (also, I was diagnosed w adhd this year and now I truly realize that my whole existence is basically a recipe for chaos), I have been quite nihilistic for a long time and the whole culture war thing made me question if pursuing higher education is even worth it (especially when I struggle so much in academic institutions w my lack of responsibility). Watching him makes me want to try again every time I fail. God may be dead, but my will is not lol
@Lisa Zorro...PostModernists contributions: resentment arrogance deceit...you disagree?… can you offer anything beautiful PostModernists have generated? (I am truly interested) #JBPbEL🦐

@Tom Jones it actually isn't. Those people aren't there to conversate or debate. They are there to win, and any form of apology will deem whatever you say for the rest of your life as wrong until you agree with them. Then they can say I told you so for the rest of your life while completely forgetting what they told you because all they care about is the fact that they won.
@Tom Jones Apologizing when you do something wrong is absolutely fine. What you don't do is apologize to people who just want to shame you into submission for nothing other than to feel a sense of power, people who are not genuinely interested in having a civil dialogue and getting to the bottom of the issues.

@Jean Jeudi if you do not think that Dr. Jordan peterson does not understand what post modernism is, then what do YOU think that post modernism is? But whatever your answer is please don't try and be supportive of marxism, it has been proven far to many times to be a murderous nightmare for civilization to the extent that I would say that being tyrannical and murderous IS the primary goal of marxism, because that is always the outcome of it.
Thank you, so very much, for doing what you do and sharing what you know and being who you are...you are making a difference in countless lives, including mine. Thank you for expanding my mind and my understanding, so I can more consciously participate as a creative force in shaping the future I'd like to see as an outcome of this current chaos.
My son, who is finishing his second year of university, recently told me about a friend of his who likes watching Dr. Peterson's videos. I told him to get some beers and buddies together to watch and discuss. These are complex topics and it takes practice to discuss them fluidly. They are music majors. So I hope they include on their watching list the interview with the classical composer.
Jordan B Peterson Professor Peterson, thank you very much for everything. I'm 22 years old college student and thanks to your videos I have found responses that my parents could have never give me in a lifetime. Thanks for teaching me the meaning of life and how to be a good individual in society. You are the mentor and the father I have been looking for my whole life.
Jordan B Peterson ....I will, Dr. Peterson- I absolutely will. I'm living more truthfully now than I ever have and am realizing the gifts that accompany a life rooted in integrity: more clarity and peace of mind which evokes the power to act with intention rather than from reactive fear, the magic of timing to manifest good things and to meet kindred spirits, a deeper appreciation for the complexity and beauty of life, and a greater ability to surf the faster-moving momentum that's leading me to where I want to go...the Truth really is the antidote to Chaos.
Im 38 years old, have 2 children and consider myself a metal head… does anyone else well up with tears almost every time when listening to Jordan Peterson? Lol He literally inspires me to tears.
No for me. I'm probably about 10 hours into his discussions and videos in the past week. Trying to catch up and understand the perspectives of those I haven't been exposed to. I spent the first several hours agreeing with everything he had to say, but now I seem to be finding more content that doesn't seem to make logical sense. Anyway, I'm only replying because I'm a dad with 2 kids too and I just felt your comment was really sincere.
36, no kids but a fan of extreme metal. I find Peterson himself to be pretty interesting but alot of the time his fans are offputting. I agree with him sometimes but this video almost makes me cry to think that some people would not understand how inaccurate and biased it is.
As a current student of a CSU (California state university), when JP said to take those positions of influence and responsibility to wake these other students up from their trance of PM(postmodernists), I personally accepted that as a challenge...
Jordan B Peterson. I am an undergraduate in philosophy and psychology in Denmark, and I've recently discovered you. You speak with such an intensity, honesty, and a passion which captures the attention of millions. Every word you utter and every sentence that flows out cuts like a razor through the fabric of post-modernism. You inspire me as an academic and a human being. I am grateful for your work and your uncompromising courage. Thank you. PS. I recently stumbled upon a person who told me that she is drawn to conflicts (lived abroad in a war-conflicted area where she studied), and furthermore in an unrelated topic described herself as a 'black ship' in a world filled with 'personas', so to speak. A seemingly whole and wellbalanced person though. I tentatively concluded she was drawn to chaos, and I wondered how this might relate to some of your ideas about mythology and/or the ideas of Jung? I haven't started digging in the universe of Jung yet, or yours in a sufficient manner, although I am planning on starting reading your 'Maps of Meaning' this summer. Denis
I love your passion here !! Refreshing, intelligent, beyond deep, clear minded and very comforting. I didn't think anyone this right on existed. I just can't get enough of your talks. Thank you Dr Peterson
Give Peterson some credit. He's a compassionate, thoughtful man. God has nothing to do with it. He could have done numerous different things to help "this world" and he's up there in the ether somewhere with his thumb up his ass. God's dead. Jordan's at least stuck his neck out for us thank goodness.
@Annabel Lee, It’s weird that you see something good in the world and say “God didn’t do that,” but see pain and say “Where is God?” Besides, I give Peterson lots of credit, too.
@@nope24601 People make the huge mistake to believe that God own us anything. He own us nothing.People itself dosent care what God think, and what he want.We deserve the World we have builded.
@@annabellee2703 Well. It’s worth reading up on some church figures like Aquinas and their beliefs, or scholars of other religious belief systems. The good points to gather from theologians broadly is not much different than from better philosophers in history, and that’s at least in part to identify how nihilism has ways of being pretty invasive to human thought and perception. Too much of it is not good, and it robs from motivations that are to aspire towards meaning, and to create meaning. Some awareness of pain and identifying with painful experiences does make sense; but it’s not a good way to encapsulate one’s whole outlook on existence and of being.
God Bless You Jordan! I have loved watching you for so long and you just keep getting more magnificent, more passionate and more resolute. Thank you! You are a TRUE LEADER!
I had a professor that pretended to be a postmodern Econ teacher. He played the role the first class, sucked some in, and crush them in debate. It was funny, sad, and terrifying.
MBA students were sticking up for Hugo Chavez policies as Venezuela was collapsing. One student said "socialism's heart is in the right place." I dropped a couple hammers, but he dropped the truth bombs. There's a lot misinformation behind postmodernism with the vast majority. Like JP says learn how to Think, Write, and Speak and you are deadly. Not all professors have forgot.
Thats a great statement about socialism's heart being in the right place. The people that support socialism only see the helpful inclusive side of it. That's why saying socialism is evil will never convince them to change their mind. Honestly though I dont think the ideas of socialism are evil or dangerous themselves. If you think about it families work on the ideas of socialism. The thing that gets dangerous with socialism is the centralized authority. The real evil in any system is centralized authority, if the world is going to be saved its centralized authority that we must defeat.
+Matt Good VS bad system is poor argument to fight against the left. Leftist are into socialism because of "feel good" emotions it brings with it in the first place, you can't convince them otherwise. But what you can do is to ask "What works?". Socialism doesn't work. Feminism doesn't work. Totalitarianism doesn't work. Social justice doesn't work. EGALITARIANISM DOESN'T WORK. Only thing that works is meritocracy, proven over and over again. It maybe doesn't "feel" right but it sure as hell works and brings benefits to EVERYONE, even the poorest slob amongst us. There is your winning argument.
Did you know that postmodernism and Marxism have almost nothing in common? That your average Marxist is as against postmodernism as Peterson is? It’s fine if you’re against the same things Peterson is against. But they’re not all the same thing! This is intellectual laziness to the max
@@_campesinox they have nothing in common indeed. postmodernism by its nature is not an ideology...marxism isn't necessarily either but, obviously, few marxists utilise the theory without a socialist motive. and people who apply postmodernism aren't brains jars but people with their own values and political motives. marxism is, roughly, a methodology, a way of analysing history, the present and likely future through the lens of class conflict. postmodernism, deconstructionism, poststructuralism - these are methods of analysing and dissecting every aspect of society from everyday speech to literature and institutions to uncover the meanings and power dynamics behind - and enforced by - them that are often overlooked or difficult to even notice. this is often useful and necesssary but sometimes there is a paranoia, an overdoing it, interpreting social-constructs in human universals, dismissing truth as a thing at all and attributing perceived truth merely to racial or class gaze, cynicism toward justice as just one group getting one-up on the rest. they're not the same thing but, clearly, postmodernist analysis is essential to deconstructing capitalist and patriarchal structures - they don't have to be. i could apply a postmodernist analysis to say how "trans women are women" is merely an expression of sympathy or pity utilising the language of truth ("are") and concepts ("women" as an actual definable if imperfect concept and not obscure "whatever this individual says it means to them" fluid to the point of nothingness) which those spouting such slogans don't really value. but yeah marxists and left-wingers generally apply postmodernism, sometimes accurately, sometimes recklessly, excessively and often distorting whatever postmodernist theory they're using. it's not true to say that when people use "white male" as a way to dismiss one's argument by saying you have no grasp of truth but only vested interest, or that "white privilege" stands as an interminable barrier in understanding racial politics...that postmodernist theory isn't being applied. and certainly when people use the term "social construct" as if it's an argument against believing in a thing at all? this comes from dumb people who've been spoonfed postmodernism yeah, so it's not an indictment against foucault himself...

Wishing I had had an influence like this in my younger life. As an American male approaching 40, raised by women and never pushed in the right direction(s), it's quite difficult to course-correct...though I am definitely trying. Being a left-leaning centrist, (that's alt-right, neo-nazi, patriarchal, colonialist oppressor, or so I'm told) I've found myself being more and more at odds with what the "left" promotes, and it's been listening to Dr. Peterson's speeches and lectures that has put it into focus. I might not always agree politically, but I'd rather listen to someone I disagree with that actually makes me think and re-evaluate myself and form actual, coherent reasons WHY I disagree than to be told what I agree and disagree with by some mindless zealots. Trying to get better at cleaning my room.
welcome to the club! There is yet a loooong journey in front of you, many more red pills to swallow, take your time and continue to ask right questions. There are lots of great youtubers to help you along the way, JP being one of them. Godspeed!
Turn that negative experience into wisdom and pass it on. I am in the same boat though younger, and I don't plan on forgetting how it took 25 years of my life before someone told me about responsibility.
+White Patriarch While I appreciate the comment, I'm a pretty "red-pilled" fellow. I don't see myself becoming more right-wing, if that's what you are implying. It's been more of a realization of what liberal(ism) is, where it comes from, what it actually means etc. I'll still always be more socially liberal than what an actual American conservative would allow for, I think. However, I'm a huge supporter of individual rights and I also see the necessity of having both sides and a strong and active center for things to operate the way they need to. Now, as the radical fringes of the left drag it further to the left, I get more let's say "accusations" of being right wing, though my actual political stances haven't changed all that much over my adult life. Rather, JP has (along with others of differing political leanings) succinctly distilled my overall disapproval with the social justice/feminist movements. I'll also credit him specifically with being the first person in the almost 20 years since I left Christianity to speak of the Bible in a way that is interesting, intuitive and productive. I'll never re-affirm my faith, as it were, but having another angle or lens to view it from outside of the "religion was created to control people" framework has been quite refreshing. Also, I'm having insomnia at the moment so I apologize for the length and "rambling" contained here.
+Sentient Viscera it all depends how you define "right wing". My stance on left VS right is that it's "rights" VS "responsibilities" just like JP said. Now if you put it like that, West has reached the Left pole - every route you take from here is to the right :) West is collapsing because no one wants to take responsibility for anything, all they want is more rights and more stuff. New right (non religious one) doesn't want to take your rights away (negative ones, positive ones need to go) but want you to take responsibilities for yourself and for society so it can continue to provide you with those negative rights. You are only free as much as your surroundings allow you to be free. Individual in Afghanistan is not free at all, by Western standards. We need to defend our civilization so we and our children can remain free, by Western standards. No other civilization will grant us that, Islamic one least of all.
Sentient Viscera I personally find no issue adhering to economic and social progresivism without following Cultural Marxist nonsense. Peterson to me hasn't pushed me to the right, he just made me smarter.
In 20 years we'll look back at this video, and we'll look back at this man as the genius that told us what was coming. One of the greatest minds and voices of our time
This is probably the closest to Nietzsche level we will get in our time. Who else will do it? Duncan Trussel? Theo Von? Rogan was onto something. But this man has studied hard. Hard as fuck, lol. And it shows. Jung, Dostoyevski, the existentialists, Hitler's Germany, the Simpsons, magic mushrooms, music, whatever art he has hanging in his house, ON and ON. Point me to a man who is this much on it; who takes things one by one out of the realm of the unspeakable. You see how this little party trick took a toll on the man's fucking brain. He has the intellectual fire that lights your soul. Its meaning. THIS is what you need to criticise when going after Jordan B. Peterson. This is the most urgent work I'be ever seen him do. He goes after all institutions we hold valuable. He is ringing a bell as loudly as he bloody can. It is something you need to look at very carefully if you want to enter the public domain, whether that be politics, education, or studentism. Not because he is right about the things he says per sé, let's be critical first and foremost, but because he attempts to articulate a very complicated social dilemma. And quite frankly, that is relevant for almost everyone. If you can understand my writing, then yes, this is probably very important for you to watch, analyse, however your pretty little brain like to deal with this sort of thing. Lobi. On the topic of meaning, his daughters name is M.A.P., which I link to Maps of Meaning. Don't know about intention, but hey, its funny. Check out her podcast btw! Absolutely KILLER personality and intelligence. You'll be able to find it with no problem. Okay, that's enough writing for now. Let's listen again, this time I'm taking notes.
Just because the message is basically - "live in integrity, make your bed, and pull your socks up" doesn't necessarily equate with "the greatest mind." Sometimes what we need is a good father or a drill sergeant, but that is different from "a great mind." Read a bit on the IDEA of pre-modern, modern and post-modern, and then rewatch this.
And then the ostriches of the future will still not believe it is coming to fruition and those that do, will still say that he was wrong for his time. How many people warned us about today thirty years ago and of those, how many are acknowledged? When the naysayers finally do come around, they pat themselves on the back for being so enlightened to be the only people today to see what is happening and completely ignore the fact that it’s been said for decades.
It's funny because Peterson is such a bad philosopher, it is not even funny. He doesn't know sh** about what he is talking about. He will not be remembered one second by academics in the philosophy field. The mere thought is ridiculous. It's like a toddler claiming he can explain Hegel with punching in the air. It is that bad.

I'm 30 years old and it has happened in my lifetime, I observed how while not changing my political ideas I have moved from a classic liberal to a conservative.
"Postmodernism, the school of 'thought' that proclaimed 'There are no truths, only interpretations' has largely played itself out in absurdity, but it has left behind a generation of academics in the humanities disabled by their distrust of the very idea of truth and their disrespect for evidence, settling for 'conversations' in which nobody is wrong and nothing can be confirmed, only asserted with whatever style you can muster." - Daniel Dennett
Thank you so much for offering such great presentations, regarding a model of how we can live our lives. I find your presentations to be extremely useful in my attempt to self monitor. I think one of your greatest skills, is the ability to directly link philosophical concepts with emotional capacity. When you explained the evil triad of negative emotions, starting with resentment, you would make speaker Ben Shapiro proud. That was a really great argument.
tell the teachers and parents to clean their rooms and stare at the dirt underneath your fingernails as if its more interesting than what they are saying
Jordan B Peterson I couldn't stand my ground. I didn't know enough. I managed to provide evidence of the wage gap being irrelevant. I probably should have prepared before hand. It didn't really matter though because they didn't want to argue. All 5 of them (my principle, my history teacher, my school counselor and both of my parents were against me.) they asked where i got the idea that feminism wasn't necessary in the US today. It was really sad. I think my parents realized they didn't know Me as much as they though they did. It was definitely weird for them. I'm not exactly sure how to explain it. Almost like they now thought the oppressors brain washed me? I really fell because I didn't know enough. I need to read more. It's the last day of school tomorrow. It was long. So much virtue signaling. I remember my history teacher telling my parents that I said that men were of more value than women in class. When in reality I just said said that they get paid more on average compared to womenbecause they work higher paying jobs and they work more! I'm only on middle school. I'm going to high-school next year. A different one. Hopefully it's better there. Man this is messy. I'm tired I'm sorry. They couldn't do anything punishment wise because tomorrow (Friday) is the last day. I think i said that earlier. But it's almost scarier.if they don't define the punishment they can do something later as punishment when I don't expect it. And then it might not stop at that because it was never set to define after a certain amount. But now my parents seem really disappointed. I don't know what to do. I might edit this later when I'm more awake and sane. I imagine that's like a mild version of drunk texting. Anyway I also have a doublethink problem that I need to sort out.
You're right Dr. Peterson. I would likely be defined as a classical liberal and I'm looking for reasons to vote conservative. Us millenials want change, well, offer me a change to the current trajectory because it's astounding watching my peers tell me how they "value free speech" while in the same breath telling me someone like milo should not be allowed to speak because of what he "represents". Social media is mutilating freedom of thought. It seems dystopian at this point. A place where if you speak against the liberal narrative you lose friends, you lose a social voice and standing, you get deemed as a simply for suggesting that perhaps things aren't the way it's presented via mainstream media. If you say something too out of line, they will try and ruin your career. It's absolutely disgusting that freedom of speech and thought are under assault to this degree by the very (grand)children of the people who worked so damn hard to institute it in the first place.
Syl Lys I want to change the system from the inside-out. I want to bring the left back to its civil-libertarian roots. I want to make the left about free-speech again, about equal oppprtunity again, about anti-racism, anti-sexism and freedom and liberty again.
The freedom to express ideas is the foundation of society. We've had it, it's just been dialing back slowly, compelled speech is a large roll back of rights but don't tell me i never had free speech.

Eve davis No he doesn't. He believes in the power of the influence God has in our culture's structure, and the effect that influence has on people whether they believe in Him or not. He believes in God as a symbol, not a being. Basically the culmination of what humans have accumulated as truth over our existence. He thinks of it as an unfinished and ongoing collection also. That's a summary of what I've heard him say. Though an answer from him would be more precise.

I find it ironic that Professor Peterson rightly criticizes postmodernists for being unwilling to tolerate contrary dialogue while simultaneously arguing that postmodernism should be stricken from public discourse because it is too dangerous to be taught. I also find it a bit amusing that such an obviously brilliant man does not see this fact for himself.
You can add Geography to the list of programs that has fallen to this postmodernist, poststructuralist, neo-marxist cancer of academia. I'm stuck in it right now (just one more year), but it is a slog. I receive barely-passing marks no matter the amount of evidence I provide within my assignments. I know how you feel, I studied Geography from 2007 to 2011 and I really was stuck into ideological battles with more then half of my profs.. I even got ill while doing so and hat to quit because of this (spinal prolapse..couldn´t bear my cross anymore). But there´s still hope. Slay them with their own weapons and dismantle their "arguments". Check out their secret bible: "Ecoscience" by J.P. Holdren & Paul Ehrlich. Dr. Jordan Peterson is like the child in Hans Christian Andersen “The Emperor Has No Clothes”. He’s one of few out there with the courage to verbalize what many of us are thinking, and therefore an inspiration to everyone to imitate his in-your-face intellectual honesty. It is a breath of fresh air to hear someone of my generation with such powerful and articulate message which he can brilliantly postulate not just as a lecture, but as a stream of consciousness in most cases. I have reasons to consider myself pretty smart, having scored very high in IQ tests given by the US government way back when this practice was still acceptable, and having been able to get me a post graduate degree in a Science/Technology discipline, but when it comes to psychology and philosophy I am fascinated by Dr. Peterson erudition and his ability to lucidly postulate contemporary currents of social and human thinking without even pausing to organize his thoughts.

Peterson after sex: "So um... I would like to recommend a book."
Inigo Montoya - "I'll read your book. IF you beat me in the dominance hierarchy and remove the neo-marxist post-modernists mumbo jumbo from future comments."

I can relate
Hey Evan, I feel the same. How do yu feel now, three years after posting this? How has your life changed? More incredible comments on how Peterson keeps positively influencing your life? Genuinely interested because I discovered him just a week ago and I'm in awe. Thanks.
Whats author or philosofer has you read in deep who you consider nihilist ?
What do you think about petersons thoughts on postmodernism?

Jordan Peterson: one of God's mercies upon this world.
I agree. Oddly enough.

What do you think about postmodernism?
I had a professor that pretended to be a postmodern Econ teacher. He played the role the first class, sucked some in, and crush them in debate. It was funny, sad, and terrifying.
Holy cow that's brilliant
shit that sounds like it would make a good youtube video lol
7:35 "The humanities and much of the social sciences has turned into a postmodern neo-marxist playground for radicals"
yes good ok
Did you know that postmodernism and Marxism have almost nothing in common? That your average Marxist is as against postmodernism as Peterson is? It’s fine if you’re against the same things Peterson is against. But they’re not all the same thing! This is intellectual laziness to the max
@@_campesinox
they have nothing in common indeed. postmodernism by its nature is not an ideology...marxism isn't necessarily either but, obviously, few marxists utilise the theory without a socialist motive. and people who apply postmodernism aren't brains jars but people with their own values and political motives.
marxism is, roughly, a methodology, a way of analysing history, the present and likely future through the lens of class conflict. postmodernism, deconstructionism, poststructuralism - these are methods of analysing and dissecting every aspect of society from everyday speech to literature and institutions to uncover the meanings and power dynamics behind - and enforced by - them that are often overlooked or difficult to even notice. this is often useful and necesssary but sometimes there is a paranoia, an overdoing it, interpreting social-constructs in human universals, dismissing truth as a thing at all and attributing perceived truth merely to racial or class gaze, cynicism toward justice as just one group getting one-up on the rest. they're not the same thing but, clearly, postmodernist analysis is essential to deconstructing capitalist and patriarchal structures - they don't have to be. i could apply a postmodernist analysis to say how "trans women are women" is merely an expression of sympathy or pity utilising the language of truth ("are") and concepts ("women" as an actual definable if imperfect concept and not obscure "whatever this individual says it means to them" fluid to the point of nothingness) which those spouting such slogans don't really value.
but yeah marxists and left-wingers generally apply postmodernism, sometimes accurately, sometimes recklessly, excessively and often distorting whatever postmodernist theory they're using.
it's not true to say that when people use "white male" as a way to dismiss one's argument by saying you have no grasp of truth but only vested interest, or that "white privilege" stands as an interminable barrier in understanding racial politics...that postmodernist theory isn't being applied. and certainly when people use the term "social construct" as if it's an argument against believing in a thing at all? this comes from dumb people who've been spoonfed postmodernism yeah, so it's not an indictment against foucault himself...

What do you think about his take on postmodernism?
+White Patriarch
While I appreciate the comment, I'm a pretty "red-pilled" fellow.
If the marxists dont delete his content.

CDM_Enigma
So when are you running for a political position?
What are you doing about that?
The freedom to express ideas is the foundation of society. We've had it, it's just been dialing back slowly, compelled speech is a large roll back of rights but don't tell me i never had free speech.
I'm 17. Can't do much about political office. I actually plan on working in academia. My personality is not compatible with being a politician. I say what I think and I mean what I say. I'm a left-wing Donald Trump who lacks a filter.
CDM_Enigma there's alot more to politics than being a politician. You want to go to academia, well start with involving yourself in the student union. Take it back the student organizations from the insanity driven PC culture. pressure your school's paper to publish articles supporting the kind of thing peterson is talking about. Don't tell me you can't do anything, that's bushleague
I learn something new each time I listen to JP speak.
despite all the room jokes, its true.. i actually REALLY need to clean my room
So go and do it.. three hours and its done (one hour a day also works), even the worst room. There´s no excuse, just lazyness.
You will feel much better immediatly
and I know excatly what I´m talking about ;)
RedGunBullets cleaned my room this weekend, it was awesome.
RedGunBullets me too XD
God bless and protect Dr. Peterson. Amen
Conservatives watching this video, I am that classic liberal Peterson mentioned. Yes, I want real dialogue with you, and yes you need to seek us out.
I am the classic liberal too.
@@jacobmarshall23 Can you explain what classic liberal is? I'm in England if that makes a difference
@@midable-mc2cz the one he talked about in the video.
Here, I'll reach out: can you please talk to the insane reality rejecting regressive ideologues that have taken over the left and tell them to calm TF down?
@@midable-mc2cz One who believes in individual liberty, economic freedom, limited government. Also known as "libertarian."
Love what you do Dr. Peterson, keep it up! Thank you for being the light in this time of absurd logical darkness.
And these blast points, too accurate for post-modernists. Only Dr. Peterson is so precise
Professor Peterson, you demonstrate exemplary courage, time and again. As a citizen, and human being, you have my sincere thanks.
I love This man! I hope he returns soon! We need him back more than ever!
I can't imagine this world without him...
Me too...
I must meet this man. He’s a fountain of knowledge and truth.
Thanks RUclips for maintaining these videos.
Keep pulling the curtain back, people are coming around to the dangers of this abhorrent ideology.
What is wrong with postmodernism?
I really appreciate how you share your knowledge in hopes to help humanity. ❤️
This speech is absolutely fantastic full of facts, thank you Mr Peterson
If I liked this a million times it still wouldn’t be enough. One of the greatest thinkers of all time. Thankyou sir. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou.
He called this out many years ago and now its spread down to the elementary schools, school boards, corporate executives, etc..
Thank you Mr. Peterson! On the mark!
JBP would be a good Magneto cosplayer, taking the 90s comics Magneto as reference. IMHO.
Jorge A. Gomes Funny because magneto is the SJW he plays as a victim while being a murderous oppresser.
Peterson is Xavier, he tells us do the best for everyone and don't be a helpless victim.
This should be required viewing for all first-year university students so they can know what they're getting themselves into.
When I watch JBP I start to understand why and how knights of old would follow their king into battle no matter the odds.
Dr Jordan Peterson gives me hope for humanity
Watching this in 2022.
Everything he was warning us about has come to fruition. Many are listening to him, but many many more should be.
It worries me this is 3 years ago and its becoming so apparent now in 2020. JP predicting the future......
Everytime I’m scrolling through RUclips I’ll stumble on a Peterson video and it won’t even sound too interesting if I’m being honest sometimes but I’ll eventually click on it and BOOM I’m stuck listening to whole lectures again
Who's listening to this to further understand the craziness of the current usa issue?
Keep on keeping Jordan. I was enthralled by postmodernism in a progressive art college back in 2001 and loved Derrida (and his wild hair). I am enjoying so so much the literal deconstruction you are undertaking right now of these "post-"and the continual pursuit of it by you gives me hope.
Watching this in 2024. We are approaching the end game.
Can you recommend someone in Los Angeles area to help me with PTSD after witnessing my father suffer horribly before he died of Cancer? I don't want medication. I am suffering and I have a demanding job, 2 toddlers and a father-in-law with Alzheimer's who lives with us. Please help me find reliable help.
I hope one day, after decades of study and self-discipline, I will obtain the intelligence that Jordan Peterson has in one pinky on his worst days.
This is more than important! Keep going Mr. Peterson there are so many people behind you
I cleaned my room. Can I comment now?
Martín Varela Did you sort yourself out?
comment then sort then comment then sort 2 min intervals 10 reps a day
This was my first Peterson video and my life changed forever
Jordan Peterson I NEEEED you to bring out the 3rd bible story. I'm dying here
Jordan B Peterson trying to hold it together when the man who has triggered the religious revolution and sparked your personal connection to God through his lectures and In fact most likely saved your life replies, is a physiological maze you could do a whole lecture on.
Jordan B Peterson we're with you dude
Man am I going to binge watch all the Bible Series videos when I finish my exams..
Malicious Mudkip I think he's more or less uncertain in the being, and said it's a really hard question to answer.
Thank you for these videos, Professor!
You light up our minds.
He darkens them with a big load of ignorance
A hero of this generation!
Jordan Peterson! You are my ALL MIGHT! One for all!
Our state of affairs:
It Snowed Last Night..
8:00 am: I made a snowman.
8:10 - A feminist passed by and asked me why I didn't make a snow woman.
8:15 - So, I made a snow woman
8:17 - My feminist neighbor complained about the snow woman's voluptuous chest saying it objectified snow women everywhere.
8:20 - The gay couple living nearby threw a hissy fit and moaned it could have been two snow men instead.
8:22 - The transgender man..women...person asked why I didn't just make one snow person with detachable parts.
8:25 - The vegans at the end of the lane complained about the carrot nose, as veggies are food and not to decorate snow figures with.
8:28 - I was being called a racist because the snow couple is white.
8:30 - I used food coloring to make one of the snow couple a different color and be more racially inclusive.
8:37 - Accused of using the black face on the snowman...snowperson.
8:39 - The middle eastern gent across the road demanded the snow woman be covered up.
8:40 - The police arrived saying someone had been offended.
8:42 - The feminist neighbor complained again that the broomstick of the snow woman needed to be removed because it depicted women in a domestic role.
8:43 - The council equality officer arrived and threatened me with eviction.
8:45 - TV news crew from ABC showed up. I was asked if I know the difference between snowmen and snow-women? I replied "Snowballs" and am now called a sexist.
9:00 - I was on the news as a suspected terrorist, racist, homophobe, and sensibility offender, bent on stirring up trouble during difficult weather.
9:10 - I was asked if I have any accomplices. My children were taken by social services.
9:29 - Far left protesters offended by everything marched down the street demanding for me to be arrested
9:45 - The boss called and fired me because of the negative association with work that had been all over social media.
10:00 - I cry into my drink because all I wanted to do was build a snowman...
Moral: There is no moral to this story. It is what this world has become because of a bunch of stupid, brain washed, irrational, leftists, self loathing, self-righteous, cry-baby, snowflakes!
Nicely written!
You can hear the disdain and disgust in his voice when talking about it. I love the Passion.
still gotta finish "explaining postmodernism" has been downloaded on my phone for a while, this vid gives me more motivation to continue 😂
Some people say talk for the sake of talking. Their words don't mean much. You could strip 80% of what they speak and not lose any of the substance. JBP is different. This was 12 minutes of gold. Most well-spoken man in the west as of 2021. God bless.
Jordan at his peak. Awesome. Excellent. Superb.
I'm reluctant to ever say such a thing, for GOOD REASON...but this guy is just simply a modern hero. No. He is.
When the world needed him the most.... he dissapeared... comeback Jordan avatar Peterson !
His daughter's podcast with him a few days ago was very eye-opening.
2021: "Oh God! We should've listened!"
I love Jordan and have watched/listened to hundreds of hours of his lectures but can someone explain the point He was trying to make at 3:26 ?
You can add Geography to the list of programs that has fallen to this postmodernist, poststructuralist, neo-marxist cancer of academia. I'm stuck in it right now (just one more year), but it is a slog. I receive barely-passing marks no matter the amount of evidence I provide within my assignments. Apparently what I have to say doesn't fit the ideological slant of the profs and their minions... I mean TAs. It's an outrage.
I know how you feel, I studied Geography from 2007 to 2011 and I really was stuck into ideological battles with more then half of my profs.. I even got ill while doing so and hat to quit because of this (spinal prolapse..couldn´t bear my cross anymore). Ten years ago, nearly no one believed in the necessity of what I was doing (not even my friends), because I was the only one who stood up against those postmodernist scumbag UN backed ideologue Professors which couldn´t wait to see the planet burn while talking us all into enslavement (But how dare me criticising their holyness).
But there´s still hope.
Slay them with their own weapons and dismantle their "arguments".
Check out their secret bible: "Ecoscience" by J.P. Holdren & Paul Ehrlich. Thats the source of their evil ideas.. Everything is in there, from the description of hidden population control programs (through food, vaccines, political descisions) to geoengineering.
Keep up the good fight! Have faith and Good Luck . Greetings from Germany
Hahaha it sounded like you suck at your field and got shit on by a fair grading system sorting out the weak who doesn't belong on a university ;) of course it was because the professors were spooky and and evuuul! Yeah right xD
@mobe Please do not talk about that with which you have no experience.
Rebel Millennial Did I hit the nail on the head or what? You probably didn't use real research and cite properly, and probably did sloppy work where you just postulated how you think the world works without sufficient evidence to back up your wild imaginations like any other academic noob and then when you get called out you chickened out because you are to bad to function in a place where your arrogance isn't in control :D
Again, do not talk about that with which you have no experience.
Dr. Jordan Peterson is like the child in Hans Christian Andersen “The Emperor Has No Clothes”. He’s one of few out there with the courage to verbalize what many of us
are thinking, and therefore an inspiration to everyone to imitate his in-your-face
intellectual honesty.
We have to say this combination of words to ourselves and others. "We have to fight postmodernism"
