I love Layla’s cardigan. You’ve done a beautiful job. Oh my, she is growing. So adorable. No greater joy than watching them experience new things. The fabric and lining for the Donny Jacket is fabulous!

Oh Rachel I love the jacket fabric too. How fun is that! I get so tired of black, red, brown winter clothing. Totally understand your caution around having your Grandbaby on the You Tubes. Your life is hectic, but family & work is what it is all about. You would be bored to tears if you didn't have either. You knit like I do, always a little glitch but that is OK. The cardigan is beautiful, nobody will notice and it is hand made with love.
Dear Rachael,
I thought you might not know this, there are a lot of machine washable wool yarns now that are very soft. They (of course) are called super wash yarns. Just check the label carefully. They are so very soft.
And yay, I’m nearly 55 and still love a mini, never too old! ♥️
I was glad for this series to come back and the longer watch! I loved all of the ones from years ago.

I LOVE a good long vlog! I save them to watch in bed with a brew! I'm LOVING the colour of your hair (during the Make unboxing), it's a gorgeous shade atm.

Love the Lise Tailor fabrics! For the zipper, you can pull the bits of with a plyer thing (sorry don't know how to spell that😂) and you could stitch vertically across a few time and that would act as a stopper
I just pause the vlog and come back. Watch you in my lunch break, while I’m sewing and now, having a cuppa before the gym 😅❤

It’s great to see your weekly vlogs again! A Martin sighting is always fun too! In case you’re interested in another roll neck top pattern, Jalie has one for free called the Emilie. It has a similar boxy shape but I find the arms much more comfortable. Can’t wait to see what made you naughty at First For Fabrics! 💜

I thought you looked great at Sew Toon on Sunday - the jumpsuit made you look like a model! Fabulous outfit. I should have told you there but the time goes so fast and I had a mission to finish a project. I think working and family and sewing all eats up time but it's always good to share your week. And no better way to spend time than with sewing and family and friends.😎❤

Lovely vlog as always Rachel. Love that fabric for your jacket and look forward to the finished project. Your granddaughter is absolutely gorgeous, love the colour of her hair, the only problem with little ones is that they grow up too fast 😢. Loved the knitted cardigan, I miss knitting for little ones, especially because I’m in Queensland, Australia. Definitely lots of fabric envy, you and your lovely northern sisters definitely make me homesick for the uk. Look forward to seeing your purchases. Have a great week.

I love your jacket fabric and hope you found the lining you wanted. I’m still having to watch long stretches of adverts- I really don’t know why, with no chance to skip. One was a whole Disney exerpt which was actually quite sweet but it took me three sessions to watch this vlog 😆

Oooh forgot about the Allie Olsen “Hive” - good shout as I have the pink and green colour way of Altelier Jupe fabric and my original pattern choice won’t be suitable as in my head I thought the fabric was a jacquard and more stable 😂 so thanks for the “Hive” shout out ❤ goodness that was long winded 😂 and did not know about the speed up thingy … just trying it and I’m giggling 🤭 away at how fast it goes! I wasn’t interested in the Sienna Jacket either until Lucy showed up in hers last year - so lovely and been teasing me since. I hope you have a better work week and things get less stressful but healthcare is just under so much strain 😢

In South Africa we call that pink tweed lining, Pongee lining. It’s super. We get a thinner one which I use also to make my nighties out of. It’s very cool and breathable.

Hi Rachel loved your vlog as always. Question about cutting out your Donny shirt please. I usually use my rotary cutter but watching you use yours you made it look so much smoother than mine. What make is yours, do you recommend it? Also you didn’t use a tape measure to align your straight of grain, is that usual for you? ❤
I use an olfa 28mm I have a 45mm and sometimes use that but prefer the smaller one, re using a tape measure to align the grain? I just do it by eye, it’s always worked for me
I have the tessuti monroe and Mandy boat tee. I had to make the sleeves wider and amended the bodice to make them fit. I also found the turtle neck piece too small and had to make it a bit wider.
I suppose you can't complain if it's free.
If you want a mini skirt, Maison Fauve have a free pattern which is great

I will not criticise you, Rachel. I am a norwegian knitter, myself. Living in a fairly cold country, being brought up with wool clothes, I must arrest you, though.
Wool does not have to feel bad on even a baby’s skin. And this being a cardigan, you would give a much nicer gift if it was wool. The wool does not have to be a 100%. And there are super wash wool yarn. It is nicer and easier (and more FUN), to knit with.
The warmth on her body cannot compare to what an acrylic yarn will provide. Even on summer days, I’d say I would prefer wool!
The effort you put into the garment, is the same. Try!
I am sure you will be amazed by the difference.

Why not use both linings and attach the alternative lining on the sleeve lining so it is less visible?

If I’m watching a long vlog on my iPad I find I don’t need to go to settings. If I place a finger on the screen it automatically speeds up to x2, then if there’s a detail I want to see or hear in real time I simply lift my finger off. Voila!
Isn't it sad that we live in such fast-paced times, that we have to speed up vlogs.
I think there’s just so much great content out there that fitting it all in in busy lives is hard
Absolutely. Totally agree. I could watch RUclips all the time. So much better than whats on TV at times 😜😜
