Happy Belated Birthday 🎂 I have three of Candy Skull Crafts project bags, I love them. Loving the mystery cowl, it looks amazing, look forward to next time and seeing your progress on your makes.
Your husband!!! Arranging a zoom b-day party, how sweet is that! I'm so glad you had a great day! Also, you and I and math skills. I feel your pain. Can't wait to see your cowl. It's going to be beautiful!
Hi Mandy oh I bet the zoom party was lots of fun 🎉🎉🎉 glad you had a great birthday I’m casting on a few small projects too don’t have the knitting mojo for my larger projects maybe it’s a time of year thing eh 😂 Oh the Firefox yarn looks soooo beautiful on the screen caked up thank you so much for the shout out I can’t wait to see it knit up now enjoy your projects and I’m glad you’re feeling better hugs ❤❤❤❤
I'm so glad you commented on my Vlogtober Episode so I was able to find your channel! Happy Birthday and congratulations on your new wheel. I love spinning! Your sweater is amazing!
So pleased that you had such a lovely birthday. Your new yarns are beautiful- I have a few skeins from Yewtree Crafts in my stash that I really must stop hoarding and use. 😂 xx
I know! And everyone had decorated with banners and balloons and they were wearing party hats! When I joined they all sang Happy Birthday (badly lol!) It was brilliant! X
Welcome to the 60s 🎂. What lovely presents from your family. I am pleased to see you wearing your skull sweater again. Never mind about things ‘being flattering’ - if it feels comfortable and you enjoy wearing it - then wear it 👊 I would go up a needle size for your Hallowe’en socks. Candy Skull Crafts is one of my favourites - I have a number of bags from Kitty, and all my needle stoppers. Diane is my sole enabler of yarn! I have a project bag and skein of her yarn already wrapped up and ready for Christmas. I am knitting a pair of her Grinch socks at the moment - which was the colour I asked her to dye up, for my partner’s Christmas socks!! Thank you for the podcast. Jinny
Well I feel I should thank you for The Grinch too! And I've pulled the socks down and gone back to the 2.75 mm that I was using for the legs of my socks last year. It's working much better xx
A spinning wheel called Biddy you are amazing. I can't wait to see the end product. The outing on your Birthday with your son's and husband is great. I also have 2 sons. That lovely hat your knitting looks a tad small I hope it fits. The socks could be pulled down and reknit. The floral knitted mitts are pretty. The Mkal knit looks very interesting. You do love casting on . .... Take care ❤😊 The Zoom Party what a fabulous idea. You husband is a Star 🌟
It sounds like you had a lovely birthday. I wasn’t given a party or cake for my 60th, but my youngest bought me a balloon bouquet. There’s always this year. 🎉🎉🎉
@pammyers1982 in all fairness, my 40th is in in hospital having spinal surgery, my 50th I'd just started a new job and we were so broke! So I think they thought this might be their best chance to celebrate lol! It was the first birthday party I've ever had! X
Glad you had a good birthday and cake, my Hobbii Halloween yarn parcel just arrived and of course I had to add Christmas yarn so I am blaming your podcast, I have an upcoming trip and want airport and flight knitting so Halloween socks just the answer 🎃
Happy 60th Mandy! Dave is a treasure. So glad you had your family around you to celebrate 😊 Love all the projects and bags and yarn. I absolutely adore that sweater but I know how annoying it is when things don’t fit properly. I bought the pattern when you were making your orange one and still haven’t started my own. Maybe next year! Also surprised you’re not doing the WestKnits MKAL! Will you do the Hiberknitalong instead? Ta for now!
I'm not doing it yet, I will probably get to it in the near future! I just don't have any desire to knit large things right now (except blankets!) I'm all about the colourwork and the stripy socks atm! 😂 xx
I've knit the heel toe do si do for my "curvaceous" legs 🤭 I cast on the 72 stitches for all of my socks but use a 2.5mm for the leg and then swap to a 2.25mm after the gusset decreases for the foot. I recently read a blog from Winwick Mum who suggests casting on and knitting the rib with 3mm then swapping to 2.5mm for the rest of the sock so I am going to try that on my next pair I think. I'm glad you had a fantastic birthday. See you next time ❤
A zoom birthday party sounds wonderful, it was kind of your husband to arrange that🙂 I saw the doodle book as well, but didn't realize it existed until it was released.. So it's on the way now 😅. Color work is where my heart is right now! I love your MKAL.. I love the lowest chart so far the best. You're inspiring me to do some sort of Halloween project, I wonder if I can come up with something small that my daughter might like 🤔. I hope you are having an awesome week!
Hello there. My good lady has been knitting for four years now. Could you settle something for us please. She sits through my YT interests, pretending very well to be, let's say tolerated, so I do the same. The term "blocking" and the importance of it keeps rearing it's head on many of her knitting lady vids. My wife's impudence in poo pooing the need of this procedure is a source of great teasing debate in our house. Even though I have no idea whatsoever what blocking is, I'm convinced it's vital to the production of a quality sock. Frankly it's just cutting corners at best, sluvenly, unprofessional at worse. She has instructed me not to write, but after 28 years she knows that's not going to stop me. Yours, tongue in cheek. Steve (Newcastle)
@fingers68 well, Steve (and Mrs Steve), I will agree that blocking a sock isn't strictly necessary. Especially if it's for oneself. We put socks on blockers to show on our podcasts because it shows them to their best advantage though. However...when it comes to garments, blocking is a magical finishing touch. Especially for shawls or anything lacy. For acrylic, just a quick trip in the washing machine then laying out will work wonders. For woolen, a little soak in some lukewarm water and pinning out flat to dry will transform the work and leave it looking fantastic. So you're both right really! 😉
Hi Mandy. So so Sorry!!! I completely forgot I thought I done it but when when I looked, I hadn’t and it was too late, Like you, I was been struck down with the dreaded bug flu or whatever you call it been really bad went out for my birthday came back really bad coughing sneezing and all the rest of it went straight to bed next morning. Bang it hit me. I am still coughing I can’t seem to shift it, As you know, it makes things worse when you get anything like that your life just goes down the pan, anyway I hope you are feeling a lot better. Hope to see you soon. I don’t know whether the kof went out to you, Denise hasn’t got hers The payment for some reason did not go through. I have I don’t know what’s going on. I think I might have to set up a new kof for Denise . Hope to see you all soon .
