I love The idea of Knitting Socks as a “me made” project. And The smile you give us, when you look at your Mumi socks i so lovely❤ thanks for giving us joy and kindness 🎉
Thank you for your lovely podcast and ideas for knitting 🙏. The socks from Nancy look so perfect and beautiful 🤩 leave the ‘mistake’ nobody will see it !
Hi Kathryn-so happy to have found your podcast-started binge watch from the beginning. I have just turned fifty and the day after I started up my knitting again and now I can’t stop. Love knitting 🧶 socks 🧦and you are a wonderful company while doing that. I love that you show that “it’s ok”to buy from places like hoobii too-have a wonderful day💖💖
The mistake on your mom's cowl -- leave it. I call those "humility stitches". Stitches mistakenly made on an item made with love. It reminds me that I am humam and capable of missing the mark sometimes, unintentionally. Mom will love it all the more. You did a GREAT job! I ❤ it! 😁
Oh you are so sweet, thank you so much! Your comment gave me a real boost. I will accept and be grateful for life's imperfections :) Thank you for watching 🥰
Your Christmas socks are looking great,I have been in Meersen and we used to have friends living there, originally I am from the Netherlands but moved to Canada 43 year ago,So I am familiar with the region you live in and the towns you talk about Ivana recommended your podcast and I am so enjoying it.Thanks for the video of Maastricht love that city.
I've been truly enjoying your episodes, and look forward to making colorwork socks! Loved walking the beautiful streets (virtually) and to admire the wonderful glass ornaments, `wow!!! thank you for sharing .
I haven't knit any Nancy Wheeler sock patterns but her sock patterns do look lovely. I would leave your mums cowl as it is as I'm sure no one will notice. It's beautiful by the way. I'm so glad I found your podcasts I've now watched from the beginning to this current one. Joy to watch.
Thank you for your lovely podcast Kathryn - always a treat to watch. I always have a pair of socks on the needles for my son (he’s a teacher too) and very knit worthy 🙂
Another lovely relaxing podcast Kathryn - as a teacher myself I can see a teacher in you!!! Socks to knit for the Swedish winter by the fire - just perfect!
Hi Kathryn, thanks for your podcast I look forward to them for your fo’s and wip’s. Love the Christmas socks and your Brothers’ jumper and your Mums cowl, just beautiful. Hope you find your Mum recovers well and see you next time.
Ooo I love your mom's gift! I have the same advent yarn headed my way ❤ I already purchased the Njord pattern from Nancy, so beautiful! My husband is a US vet, so her project was near and dear to my heart. Alles Gute zum fruhen Geburtstag!
My favorite thing to knit is socks. I really love the colorway of the yarn of the sweater your wearing! Your Brother's sweater is great - all the colors look so good!
Thank you Catherine for sharing your wonderful knitting. I love knitting socks. I am in my 70’s and always have something on the go for family. 2025 will be my year to knit a cozy memories type of blanket for my home. I must go to the Christmas markets in Germany one day!
Absolutely love all your knits especially your doodle cowl - leave the mistake it’s part of its charm. I’m in a sock knitting frenzy and have been loving knitting the new sock patterns each month from summer Lee s sock cuff club as well as Christmas socks as gifts ❤
Another wonderful episode Kathryn. No need to fix the mistake on your mum’s cowl. As other viewers have said, until you pointed it out, we didn’t see it! You love your mum, so she’ll appreciate all the work you’ve put into it. I love knitting socks and also love watching Nancy Wheeler’s podcast. What a pity you weren’t in the UK when she was visiting recently. Maybe next time!
Thank you for the lovely comment :) I am going to leave the mistake as it is :) It would be amazing to meet up with Nancy one day! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
I would definitely leave it! If you hadn’t pointed it out, it may not have been noticed. I am from the east coast of Canada and attended a sock clinic with Nancy Wheeler in September. She is absolutely lovely, extremely down to earth with a great sense of humour. I love your podcast! Carla
Socks 🧦🫖🧶 After many many socks I finally started making some DK. Love the pattern suggestion. Nicely watching your podcast on a grey morning, having a cup of tea and ‘chatting’ with you 😊
Just bought the Njord socks for myself (don’t need to be in the running for the free pattern). Glad to support Veterans. I would leave that mistake on your lovely cowl. Your mom will love it either way. I’m making a Puntal for my husband-had made one last year but had to rip back as his beer tummy has gotten bigger. Beautiful colors in the Nightfall Sweater. I’ve got lots of sweaters to make and will be using knitting for therapy again here in the States-along with quilting it is what will be keeping me sane in what will be some crazy times. Enjoy the cozy times.
Knitting for therapy is a good strategy :) Something mindless but not too mindless to keep my head in the right place is a good thing. I laughed out loud at the beer tummy comment :) Thank you for watching 🥰
Thank you for another lovely episode. I enjoy every minute of spending time with you and your knits. I would love to be in the draw for the sock pattern. Thank you for sharing about this. It sounds like a great pattern.
Hi Kathryn, The cowl for your mom is so beautiful, nobody will notice that stitch you found, it is perfectly handmade. I live in Canada but I have family in Maastricht, it is such a lovely town, thank you for sharing the images, I have not been since 2019. Your moomins socks are fantastic! Beautiful and so much fun! Have a good week!
Yay for moomins! Excited to see you knitting them at last. I've been told the theory that if your knitting holds a bit of your soul, then mistakes are where your soul gets out. In other words, a little mistake is nothing to stress over
Don’t worry about the mistake. You have to search for it to find it. It is not that obvious. It is a beautiful cowl and I’m sure your mom will appreciate it 😊Thanks for another great episode. I just discovered your recently so I have only seen a few episodes🙏
What a lovely podcast! So glad to have found you:) I loved seeing all your projects and the footage of the shops in the NL. Absolutely wonderful. I think I spied some cheese wheels?! Those Moomin socks are so cute, I'm super intimidated by color work on small circumferences, it was great to see yours. Oh, and the cowl! My motto is, if the mistake is not structural, I leave it alone as it is a design element. Have a wonderful visit with your family.
What a lovely comment! You did indeed spy some cheese wheels! I intend to do a little cheese shopping to take some goodies back to the UK for over Christmas :) I have decided to accept the mistake in all its glory :) Thank you so much for watching 🥰
I love watching Nancy! It's wonderful her DK socks are now in 4ply also as I am in Australia & a lighter weight yarn for socks is ideal over Summer! As always loved your podcast! ❤ Susannah
Thanks for another lovely episode ❤ I have been in a bit of slump for socks knitting but I think knitting a DK or worsted pair could be a good way to get back into the groove of it!
I learnt to knit a year ago, socks being my first venture- have loved them ever since… I have yet to crack into the Nutiden!! thanks for the wonderful content, and best wishes from 🇬🇧
What gorgeous socks Kathryn. The doodle cowl for your mum is so pretty. I'd just ignore that tiny error. Please have a safe and fun trip back home and thank you for this very enjoyable episode. Oh, and yes please for vlogmas, but only on those days that suit you. Sending you birthday wishes from New Zealand ❤🎉❤
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful comment! I will try and do a little something for vlogmas, at least to get in a christmassy mood by enjoying some Glühwein with you :) Thank you for watching 🥰
I truly enjoy your podcast and your project choices. I’m a prolific sock knitter and love your new socks! And - we share a birthday. You are the second podcaster who shares my birthday, Natalie from KnitCheek does too. I hope you have a perfect birthday and a beautiful next year!
Have been enjoying your podcasts but so glad that you explained where you got the Moomeeno name from today. Love the sock pattern and have been knitting socks for gifts this year. ❤
Thank you again for a really nice podcast. The cowl for your mom is gorgeous, leave the mistake, it's made with love so she will not mind I'm sure. Almost all of my knits have those 'design features' 😁. The socks are really fun, I'm inspired now to knit some Christmas socks
Thank you for another lovely episode. Don't apologize for whatever yarn you use!! By the way, if you used Hobbii Dream Color: that is 100% wool 🤭. I wish you a lovely time with your parents and sister. Such a nice offer of Nancy Wheeler to donate to the VTN in Canada. I love knitting garments and SOCKS!
Please, please, please do vlogmas 🙏🙂 Enjoying your podcast episodes a lot, thank you for putting your time and effort into making them. It is much appreciated ❤ Oh: “socks” 😅
Your Moomin socks are adorable! I've been hoping to make that same pattern for my niece. I gave her the set of books for her birthday. It might take a bit of math- as she's only 6. Maybe I'll make them more like legwarmers so she can wear them longer. Oh, how I miss this time of year in Germany. I spent 6 years there, growing up in a military family. Thanks for sharing!
Legwarmers! What a fab idea! It might take a bit of working out but I think it would be doable :) I will hopefully post some nostalgic Christmas market videos for you :) Thank you for watching 🥰
Lovely relaxing podcast . I’m a fairly new knitter and have as yet to dive into sock knitting. Maybe now is the time. Best wishes from a cold North Wales.x
You can do it! My parents in the Beacons had a little snow today so I am sure it has been in your region too :) Stay warm and cosy and knit socks! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
I love the idea of no gift knits in December! I should be done with gift knits in a week or so. I am knitting Christmas baubles...the plan is to have Christmas visitors pick one off the Christmas tree to take home. I've done that in the past with Arne & Carlos Advent baubles and it went over well 😊
Hi there, and greetings from Finland. I just came to say that I really love your lovely, comforting, kind, entertaining and inspiring videos. Have a happy waiting for Christmas. :)
Hi Kathryn. Leave your mum's cowl as it. I always tell my friends it is their creative input when they have a mistake. 😂 I love your moomin socks! They are so adorable and fun socks are great to wear no matter our age. I just found wool sock yarn in Edeka for 2 euro. Hopefully it is good as it feels like a good enough quality. We are in Germany at a wine hotel for a break after not having been able to take a vacation this past summer. I am working away while here on finishing a granny square cardigan for my mother and the Pemberly pullover sweater. I want them done so I can start my Ella cardigan pattern you got me. I have wool and mohair to combine for it. Yes, yes, yes...please do vlogmas! I would love to watch you bake, decorate and go to Christmas markets. I get to go to the first day of the Aachen market and it is forecast to snow. I am beyond excited if I can walk in the snow. Happy knitting 🧶
In Edeka?! I need to go and investigate :) Have a wonderful wonderful break and enjoy the time knitting and relaxing! I am hoping to go to Aachen in the first week of December too. Fingers crossed for snow! Take care and thank you for sticking with me 🥰
I just stumbled across your podcast and absolutely love it! Beautiful projects, and as far as the mistake on your mom’s cowl leave it be. Many cultures often leave mistakes in their work ( The Navajo weavers for one ) as a reminder that we are not perfect.
Love knitting socks🎉🎉 And love nancys patterns,,,i have done njord socks dk,,,,and plan in doing the fingering version,,,!!!! Love ur moonin socks,,,,and ur mums cowl ,,is gorgeous 🎉🎉dont change it,,,, Love the cozy knitter socks ,,,just got mine,,, Hope u do vlogmas,,,,!!!😂😂 Safe travels,,,, ELAINE 🏠💗
Your socks are beautiful 🤩 but like you definitely enjoy a 3x1 rib sock ! I would leave your Mum’s cowl exactly as it is as I looks great and cal, it a design feature 😂
You should just leave your mother's cowl as is - 'The beauty of handmade lies in the imperfections. Anything perfect is machine made' (and we are not machines). I love knitting socks and particularly enjoy Nancy's patterns.
Perfect monday evening with you on the screen and knitting socks. Have you seen the book of doodle patterns Jamie lomax have released in oktober with 200 doddles...lovely podcast you make
I have indeed! The postage from the US is a little steep but I might pick up a copy when I am there next visiting my sister maybe next year. Thank you for watching 🥰
Thanks for another very entertaining episode of your podcast. Don’t even think about the little mistake on your mom’s cowl, name it a designer’s feature and that’s what it is, a personal stamp on a beautiful work. The Christmas socks you’re knitting are so beautiful, I would love to knit them too, but color work is not really my cup of tea. Enjoy your stay with your family and all the best to your mom.
Hi Kathryn, You’ve inspired me to knit some socks as I think I’m struggling with my knitting mojo! My mum passed away last month and I’m really missing her 😢 she was a great knitter and was still making little hats for the NICU unit it in her late eighties! Would love to have an Xmas in Germany, I’ve heard so much about the markets and Christmas time! We persevere and still have hot ham and turkey during a warm 25-30:degree day😅
I am so sorry to hear what a sad time you are having. I can't imagine what you are going through and am sending all of the good thoughts to you. 🥰 I would love a bit of 25-30 degree heat today; it is absolutely pouring down, grey and miserable. I will try and record a little christmas cheer through December :)

Just bought the Njord socks for myself (don’t need to be in the running for the free pattern). Glad to support Veterans. I would leave that mistake on your lovely cowl. Marvellous :) Thank you for watching 🥰
I am knitting socks as I watch your podcast. Thank you for a relaxing, informative podcast.
Perfect! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Yay for moomins! Excited to see you knitting them at last. I've been told the theory that if your knitting holds a bit of your soul, then mistakes are where your soul gets out. In other words, a little mistake is nothing to stress over
I know, right?! I have had this on my to-do list for so long! That is such a nice thought about the mistake :) Thank you for watching 🥰
How fun…your generous giveaway! I’ve actually only knit vanilla socks so having an actual pattern would be delightful! Socks! 🥰🥰🥰
Marvellous :) Thank you for watching 🥰
Awh I love your channel! You have great energy. The sock pattern is beautiful btw! DK socks are the best. 🥰🥰🥰
I haven't knit any Nancy Wheeler socks. I love the Njord design and will have to put them in my queue. Your podcast is so relaxing. Thank you!

Me too!! Thank you for watching 🥰

Take care and thank you for sticking with me 🥰
I used to have no interest in knitting socks. Tina from Simply in Stitches used to talk about them in her podcast a lot. and then I was hooked x
I will need to have a look at her podcast :) Thank you for watching 🥰
Omg Moomins ,goals🎉🎉🎉
Absolutely! I have an idea rolling around in my head for a colourwork yoke with a moomin theme ;) Thank you so much for watching 🥰
I would love to win that dk pattern for socks, and that blanket that your Mother made is so beautiful!
It is! I think I talk about it in more detail in one of the earlier episodes :) Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hello, SOCKS? Socks are great. I always have some on dpns. Woolly wool socks are the best! ttfn thank you!
That's great to hear :) Thank you for watching 🥰
I just stumbled across your podcast and absolutely love it! Beautiful projects, and as far as the mistake on your mom’s cowl leave it be. Many cultures often leave mistakes in their work ( The Navajo weavers for one ) as a reminder that we are not perfect.
Oh thank you! That is such a sweet comment :) Thank you for finding me 🥰

The Njord socks are such a lovely pattern, aren't they :) Thank you for watching 🥰
Your socks are beautiful 🤩 but like you definitely enjoy a 3x1 rib sock !
I would leave your Mum’s cowl exactly as it is as I looks great and cal, it a design feature 😂
Definitely! Can't beat a ribbed sock :) Thank you so much for watching 🥰
I love knitting socks
Me too :) Thank you so much for watching 🥰

Your socks by Nancy wheeler are lovely.

Leave the mistake! Its like a freckle on a beautiful face, its what makes one unique and still very lovely!!!
I like knitting 🧶 socks …and thanks 😊
Thank you for watching 🥰
Socks! One can never have too many, thanks! Also, didn't know you were a teacher, but I can totally see it.
and the moomin socks are fantastic, so fun!
I agree about the socks :) Thank you for watching 🥰
Leave your mom's cowl ad it is. Made with love. Oh I almost forgot to say socks. Happy knitting everyone.
I think I will :) Thank you for watching 🥰
I love knitting socks and would appreciate Nancy’s pattern. I also watch her podcast. She is a lot of fun.
She is! I love her podcast :) Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Love the podcast! I have lost my sock mojo so I'm hoping to refind my desire to knit SOCKS haha by winning the Nordic pattern x
Thank you for watching 🥰
I would love to knit one of Nancy Wheelers socks. Regarding your Mums cowl, iwould color the stich with a marker. Probably not a popular idea lol.
Now that's an idea! Thank you for watching 🥰
Thank you for the lovely comment :) You are very kind and I have decided to live with the mistake :) Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hi Kathryn,
You’ve inspired me to knit some socks as I think I’m struggling with my knitting mojo!
I would love a bit of 25-30 degree heat today; it is absolutely pouring down, grey and miserable. I will try and record a little christmas cheer through December :)
Love the cowl only you will care about a tiny mistake. I watch Nancy and must try some of her sock patterns I am just getting into knitting socks ❤
I have decided to live with the mistake too :) Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Socks. I always want to write "Sox" due to dr. Seuss book Fox in Sox!
Lol! Thank you for watching 🥰
