There are 50 shades of Prince. Each album is different and avant-garde. When purple rain came out, he was already on his next album. Prince is funny, provocative, deep, wise, free and terribly sexy. Go see kiss and the era of sign of the time etc. Prince's world is endless and pure emotion

I see this happen a lot. Reactors think that this was a regular music video, but it's a scene from the movie where he plays this song, but they're missing all the story context going into it cold. She made the face after he kissed her because the band had got into a fight not long before this show. The band was not happy and on the verge of breaking up. Then Prince surprised them by playing "their song and having a change of heart." It's part of the movie, but the movie does have a lot of kernels of truth.
This needs to be pointed out more to the youth. Good post.

Btw this is a scene from "Purple Rain", from the film of the same title. Prince was a musical genius, girlfriend. He could play 26 musical instruments. Also Prince was a prolific song writer. He wrote and recorded for himself and wrote hit songs for other artists to help bring along with their careers. Prince had hundreds of songs written / recorded that were found locked away in his archives upon his untimely death. There have never been anyone like Him on planet Earth, before or since, like Prince. Prince was an Entertainer of the first order, for the Ages. No exaggeration, either. That is God's truth. Prince was on a whole different level. All on his own. He had the moves and could dance his a$$ off.. He had phenomenal range. Dude could sing like an angel. Plus he could also act. Prince was a poet, song writer, musician, actor, record producer, He could do it all. Every aspect of the music business. In Spades. I can think of no other like him. On the level that he was on so many things. Maybe it's just me...But I think maybe this world was made a little less bright since he left us. His star light has gone dim our world has become a little darker without him. Thank goodness we still have some of his work that he left behind. What a legacy, eh?

Prince was bloody brilliant! Purple Rain is his masterpiece! This is from the movie. He wrote the song, not Wendy and Lisa, although they were in his band The Revolution. I've said it a million times, Prince was the only man at 5'3", in women's heels, and lace shirts that could steal your woman without even trying. He oozed sex appeal. Check out Sign O' The Times, Let's Go Crazy, Delirious, DMSR, and When Doves Cry.

Just a bit of trivia. All of the songs on this soundtrack have music videos that have clips of the movie in it. The reactions of the crowd are genuine as nobody had heard this music before it was played during the filming of the movie. Prince won the Oscar that year for Original song for Purple Rain. Prince was a musical genius and anyone who was a fan of his still feels that loss today. To me, his best stuff was the early stuff because it was dirty and sexy. He was strictly heterosexual and dated some of the most beautiful women in the world. There was just something about him that was very appealing. I still listen to his music often and miss him to this day.
This makes me so emotional for so many reasons. Please watch "Purple Rain"The movie was lovely based on his life. Best concert I have ever seen and I have seen many.❤

I really appreciated your beautiful comments about Prince and honesty about how the younger you wouldn’t have appreciated him. You are so right about how he was not afraid to be who he truly was, and he definitely was not a follower. He is the greatest artist ever, and we are so fortunate to have lived at the same time he did. I recommend checking out live performances. They are a whole other level of brilliance. There are many live versions of Purple rain, but 2 of my favorites are from the Syracuse show of the Purple Rain tour and the 1985 American Music Awards. Also, anything from the Glam Slam show is great (I particularly love Nothing Compares 2 U and Thieves in the Temple/It). His performance of Baby I’m a Star/Push from the Special Olympics. I can go on and on… for some reason his performance of Forever in My Life/It from the Sign O the Times film came to mind. I think you’d really enjoy it. I love how you said the younger you wouldn't have appreciated Prince I get that. His Adrogny turned off alot of people back in the Day. He was a musical genius Authentic song writer composer Master of many Instruments. Simply put he was 1 of 1. All you have to do is listen how other great musicians talk about him. From Rock Pop to Hip hop HE is held in the highest esteem. Last thing I have to say is to see Him in Concert was a Amazing experience.
There are lots of great songs from Prince. You might enjoy "Let's go Crazy" or "When Doves Cry". "1999","Little Red Corvette", and "Raspberry Beret" are good too.
Since she said she likes that jazzy sound, I was thinking "Damn U" by Prince.

@@DesireesReactiverse the movie was kinda based on Prince's attitude. basically, his shite didnt stink. a lot of turmoil with mom and dad, lost a love. had a reckoning when he found his dad's old music.. gave the girls a really hard time about them wanting to add their music to the shows. at the end... he realized how he had treated everyone, his way of saying sorry to the girls by kissing her on the cheek.

Yes, he WAS weird. He DID dress feminine. But every great artist is weird. Also, look it up, Prince slept with every A-list female in Hollywood during his time. Also, you gotta do some of the other Prince hits.
