Soo proud of you guys for being able to put yourself out there and be so vulnerable 💓 My dad took his own life and I wish someone would have known what he needed in order to help him deal with his depression.

I think it was a good idea that we opened up about it and it shows people that it’s important to open up about it.

Great topic guys. I have been fortunate in that I have almost always been able overcome feelings of depression. The bad part of that is during hard times it's very hard to ask for help or talk about my problems. Usually all I need is a reset when I feel down , like working out, running , music, movie, good food, etc .Just something to look on the bright side. Depression is no joke and people that really struggle with it have to get help. Wich may be medication, counseling, and find more positive influences in there life. Adapt and overcome !!

      Yes. I Agree 💯
You have to keep your mind occupied. And not just watching tv or stay on social media for hours.

I think social media and tv make depression worse by keeping people inside, I honestly think walking and being outside does so much for everyone. I know it's a little hard cause of covid but you can still go outside for a walk

I’m sooooo glad y’all did this topic because so many of us face it and think that we have to suffer alone. Or as if there is no way out of that dark place. Very brave of you all to be so vulnerable and share your experiences with depression ❤️

I feel that there are too many of us that would truly be there for each other for us to feel like we’re alone. We need to check on one another more often and ask questions. Especially when we can see it.

I honestly think it's extremely how to detect because people wear smiles as a mask and you would never even know what they're going threw so them knowing there not alone hopefully helps them open up

This is a very touchy topic for me. I myself don’t believe I have ever felt depressed that bad, I do know a lot of people that go through depression n I don’t like to intervene because I feel like I don’t want to get into their business! Yes some people don’t want to talk about their situations but it is best to talk to someone, I’m sure it will help you out a lot! I am here for anyone that needs to talk. I think I’m a good listener! Damn y’all got me in my feels😢😢😢

Yes I was definitely in my feels. I think it’s important to try to intervene. I know it’s hard but if I had noticed Jay or Eric was going through the same thing I was, I would have definitely said something to them even if it meant that they would be angry with me.

Excellent topic guys, first of all. Here goes an individual hug🤗,🤗,🤗, for each one of you. I knew about Oscar. And I feel like an Ass cause I had no clue that Jay was going through or had gone through this horrible illness, and I definitely didn't know about Eric. I had been going through depression for so many years and I fought it for many years, my friend Susan used to tell get on depression pills I would tell her no I got this, but would cry, all the time. I didn't know where I wanted to be, but I didn't want to be at work and I didn't want to be at work & all I would do was cry
After about 12-15 years I finally have in and started taking meds. I've tried different kinds I'm good now. Thank God. I'm good. All Meds are not bad. May God Bless all of you. I LOVe you ALL

I agree not all medications are bad. I remember my Doctor telling me that if I had Diabetes or some other type of illness you would take the medication to help you live longer, this is basically the same. I know not everyone needs meds, and if you have have a good support system and find ways to work through it power to you. But you can’t be afraid to try it if you need it. Plus the doctors will not recommend it if you don’t need it.

Great topic. I personally don't tell many people i have depression because they dont understand. They think i am sad, or that somethimg traumatic happened in my life but nothing happened. I am not sad. I am just numb. Sometimes i say it so people understand why i am not energetic or in the mood to hangout or bond or why i get annoyed easily or why i hate noise but in the end nobody ever really understands, so i don't really bother unless someone is truly interested or understanding because people just think i need attention. I dont.

I think there’s a big misconception about becoming dependent on depression medication. You generally don’t get hooked on it like you would Xanax or meds like that. If anything they are meant to try and help you feel more like yourself. It’s a lot of trial and error till you find one that works for you.
