Played it the last 6 monts on my fairwaywoods and driver absoluzley love it. I think its more easy to hit it straight. Btw im 14 so im had reqly long fingers so its okay using the large size. Loving your videos and your new indoor setup!
I regripped a set of senior clubs for my father to get him back into playing. I liked them so much I through a jumbo on my driver and midsize on everything else.
I am 33 and I can already feel my hands starting to go. I use a fatter grip and I can easily swing more than with the stock size. Then I grew up playing baseball so maybe it's just a comfort thing that I'm used to
I'm not quite ready for jumbo grips but I did recently switch to mid-size grips and it has made a big difference in my being able to grip since my arthritis kicked in a few years ago.
Those are the same ones I use. Love them. I'm almost 6' 5" and have pretty big hands, these grips pretty much saved my game. A friend of mine tried my clubs and he said it was like holding baseball bats. Yes, they do take some getting used to, but once you get used to them, you'll never go back. With the small grips, I used to have issues with the club turning a tad bit in my hands. Never knew exactly where the club face was, with the big grips, I know exactly where the club face is.
I'm a teaching pro, for years I've used jumbo grips and tell anyone who will listen to change...standard grips were invented in what the 30s? Biggest issue in golf is your grip...btw you forgot two of the best ball strikers ever, Moe Norman and John Daly ? yep, big grips

Trying out the Jumbo Max STR8's this week. I bought two of the Jumbo Max grips and hits balls with the 8 and 9 iron and tried it on a driver. It is such a secure fit that you can relieve the stress in forearm which helps with their movement. The grips have helped my son and for sure, they feel strange until you get used to them. Then go back to your originals you can also feel the difference in the amount of pressure you use to actually hold the club.
A couple years ago I dislocated a finger on my right hand and have been dealing with occasional pains especially when I thin a shot. I switched to the Jumbomax and don't have much data, but haven't had any aches or pains using those grips and I like the way they feel. I had a normal grip on my 3 utility iron trying it out and I did feel the pain a couple times on thin shots so I'm pretty sure that the bigger grips do help and could help people relieve some issues if they have aches or pains in their hands.
I've been using the Jumbo Max grips for six months now on all my clubs and I love them. I feel it reduces unwanted wrist movement which for me has lead to more consistency. I grip them with a conventional grip and don't feel I have to bow and hold off like you were doing. My advice would be to give them a try and don't be too hasty to disregard them. Persist a bit and I'm sure a lot of people will like them.
I just put a set of Golf Pride CP2 Jumbo grips on my irons. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at how much it helped me hold onto the club. I do need to work on how I grip my left hand, but initial results were better contact, straighter ball flights, and more feeling in the heads, as I moved swing weight up the club by a lot with the new grips. I can now really feel when I tow it, heel it, thin it, etc. The one problem I have currently is hitting the ball thin, but I did have the clubs shortened a half inch to fix my dynamic lie. Having only hit a hundred balls or so, I still have to get used to the new grips, but it looks promising.
i have always used standard sized grips but it always feels very awkward and cramped for my hands gripping the club so i will definitely have to consider bigger grips, maybe not that big
I have ML glovsize and i am playing light oversized grips ( Karma ultra light oversize 58 gr ) i love them !! I think Vinn allso have some ultralight oversize as well
I had the same feeling, but it really got better when I got the JMX Ultralite, however in Size S instead of XL as seen in this video. They are just slightly bigger than the standard oversize grip (which the guys at Jumbomax refer to as XS) and I'm so much more relaxed in my hands. I heard good things about WINN Oversize grips, too (they are also less expensive than the jumbomax). I use ML Gloves btw.
Absolutely loved this video Pete! As a former baseball player, I've wondered about using larger grips on my clubs since I began playing, but now after this video I'm seriously considering it. Love your videos, keep up the good work!
As a senior with large hands I recently started using a jumbo grip what a difference amazing more comfortable easier to swing. As I also use the Moe Norman grip it really helps Robert McCabe
I play with oversized grips and felt they really helped me a lot. I might go with these jumbo grips when I need to get my set re-gripped at some point this spring.
I use the jumbo max xl on my woods and jumbomax med on my irons/wedges. Has fixed my huge driver hook and I can swing my 3wood away straight every time. Helps the big draw with the irons also.
"A big piece of cork in your hands" hunh, Pete? Pretty excited you and the Good, Good crew are getting together! Is it safe to say Matt Fryer and Rick Shiels will also be joining?
Just changed all mine to Golf Pride CP2 standard which are slightly wider at the bottom . They were expensive but got them at a bargain price from a PGA pro. My son (ex assistant pro ) put them on for me ! I bought a Titleist gap wedge with one already fitted and loved it , hence the change.
I just started playing, been using standard grips. Well, I have 10” catchers mitts for hands and have just switched to oversize grips. It makes such an incredible positive difference.
I use the Golf Pride CP2 Jumbo grips on all my clubs... I tend to have less forearm stress using them... also, they are very, very durable... a few of mine have been on my clubs for at least 4 years, and they still perform great!
Used the Super Stroke Traxion Tour Oversize for a few months now. I found them to wear out too quickly on the driver and are slick and hard to control on the irons when its damp! Switched to Lamkin Crossline 1150 (wedge grip) with extra tape, the extra length gives better control when gripping down. Notice the difference and will continue to use oversize now.
Bryson is trying to keep his left elbow pointed towards the target for as long as possible. He explained it in GM golf's video. Maybe that feel can help you, Pete. Great video!!
I have GP std-size Tour Velvet but am in the process of changing over to GP New Decade MCC Plus 4 mid-size. It's too early to tell if the grips are having any impact on my scores, but the feel is good and I find the mid-size allows me to hold the club with less grip pressure (I wear a L-size glove) so my hands are less tired by the end of a round or practice session. The Plus 4 reduced taper allows me to maintain 'soft hands' when gripping down on any club but especially around the greens. They are heavier than a std grip so they do produce a slight counter-balance effect that changes the swing weight ever so slightly. In my case, I'm enjoying the change.
I put one of these in medium size on my driver and so far I like it. I usually hit a bit on the heel side and would rotate the face too much. This grips seems to help as I have long fingers and I’d grip too tightly. We’ll see how it does for this golf season!
I us align grips. However I did install some of them for my lad on his driver and 7 wood and he loves them. They actually made a noticeable difference for him. I believe they are just for a very small size of golfers. Very cool and unique though!
because of arthritis I build out my grips to about the same non-tapered thickness (but with some lead too to speed my down swing). It is nice to take the left out of (most of) the equation, and people who try them love them. They are a more controllable interface to and with the club face and shaft.
@@hotshotawb3923 Jealous? Not at all, I just can't stand Garrett. First how he handled Bro Five then how he is always trying to get in front of the camera in videos that has absolutely nothing to do with him.
I ended up trying a jumbo grip inadvertently when I needed a 5-iron for a handed down set that didn't have one (lost I guess.). Not as jumbo as these, but still bigger than most others. It was an Avon Chamois (in brown, though that doesn't matter.) and I could not get used to it for the life of me. It felt like my fingers were so far apart that the club would slip out of my hands. So it in turn had the opposite effect on me of making me grip tighter rather than looser. Needless to say I had it regripped.
30 yrs ago I found my shots were accurate and consistent with hand towel wrapped. Reason I used hand towel was that in December at Arkansas, it rained majority of the month and original grips are wet and slippery. So this jumbo grips are fantastic welcome.
I don't have those specifically, but I currently using Golf Pride CP2 jumbo size plus 4 wraps. You don't squeeze at all and can hold the club in a weaker grip, as you mentioned. Best thing that has happened to my game.
I use Golf Pride cp2 pro jumbo grips on all my clubs, except putter of course. I find it easier to control the club face and can have less tension through my hands and forearms.
@@huntersandberg9193 You struggle with reading don't you ??? I never claimed I knew Bryson.... READING IS FUNDAMENTAL AND YOU'RE AN IDIOT ! Go read it again and I'll wait
Golf Pride midsize with a couple of extra wraps. Been doing it ever since I had got my MP33s when I was about 15. I might look at supersizing now though.
Hi Pete, I have these grips in the medium size. They help quite a bit with my arthritic thumbs. I guess it's just what you are used to using. When I hold a club now with a regular size grip it feels like I am holding a toothpick. ⛳
I put the ex-large on my ping410 driver - hitting them straighter not getting those duck hooks anymore sometimes a pull left but not in trouble. I tend to pull my shots often rarely slice - thinking about going bigger on all my clubs.
I feel like these would be good for someone that has a severe miss left. Seems like you would have to force it to even flirt with anything left, with those grips. 😂
I have switched to the UltraLite Medium and love them. I am approaching 70 years and have some arthritis in my hands. It is harder for me to curl my hand and fingers onto a normal size grip so these JumboMax grips are a God send. I feel I have a much better grip on the club and can feel the position of the face better. I would suggest to buy some of these grips in different sizes to see what is most comfortable for you.
I use the Golf Pride MCC Plus 4 in midsize. The lack of taper helps me stop hooks and my hands are bigger than the average person so them being midsize really helps.
I currently run Gold Pride MMC plus four midsize with two wraps on my wedges and irons. I use the same grips in jumbo on my woods with one wrap. I was using JumboMax tour wraps in large on my driver and 3 wood but I found that there was too much difference when I use those then move to my irons. I found it better to keep the same general feel between my grips. I agree though, grips are the most important piece equipment you can use in your set.
You did a terrible injustice to the grip. You should have swing normal instead of trying to replicate brysons swing mechanics. Terrible shame as you did not help neither the grip maker nor the viewer in my opinion! Sadly you even used one length clubs which you are not used to. I must say that I don’t believe it was your intention to be biased.
I have Golf Pride Tour Velvet Jumbo grips on my driver and 1 driving iron and a mix of mid size Lamkin Crossline and Tour Velvets on the rest of my clubs. I have big hands and had trouble getting a good and comfortable grip for a long time before switching to bigger grips.
Had a fitting for new irons in September last year. My grips are now mid size grips with 3 tapes. Definitely feels more comfortable in the hand. It kind of makes sense; I also have an extra grip on my cricket bat - so it's about what I'm used to 😉
I just switched to a large grip due to my weaker grip in my left hand, and have seen my swing improve greatly. Thank you Ken from my local Golf Discount for recommending them. Great video Finchy! Love ya buddy!
If you take a full swing with your long irons and mistakenly hit the toe of the club face, the shaft will torque violently in your hand, shearing the skin on your palms & cause a lot of blisters. I stuck a jumbo grip on my 1 iron and It has really saved my hands.
i just had my hybrids, irons, and wedge re-gripped to the Jumbo Super Stroke Comfort Grips. not as large as the jumbo max but larger than the standard i did had before. only hit the range once so for, so i'm still learning to adapt to them. needed to use larger grips due to the pain and arthritis in my hands. looking forward to taking them out on the course soon.
I wear a mens large for golf grip and use a +4 midsize I’ve never tried a jumbo but going to a midsize plus 4 from Golf Pride made a huge difference in how I’m able to grip the club more comfortably, and more consistent pressure
Golf Pride Mid size half cord + three wraps. Playing badminton and squash I always had jumbo grips so I could keep my wrist relaxed and that created a lot more power in restricted spaces - like the corners of the court. Never thought of using jumbo grips on golf clubs since I wanted to avoid loosing control of the face more than I do already. Perhaps now I've seen this I should try the jumbo grip on the driver since this is the club that a little more speed would help.
I've been using extra large or jumbo grips for about 20 years now I use the winn dry tacs. I've been thinking of going to Brysons size..Don't knock it till you try one..super comfortable in the hands, makes it harder to flip the club head over at impact.
Hi, I've been using zero taper grips for a few years. I have now changed to jumbo max grips but I use the extra small size and my golf glove size is large. The xs size has minimal taper and stops over rotation of the wrist on the follow through. If you do change to Jumbo max ultra lite grips you will have to swing weight all of your clubs to allow for the lighter grip weight
i have been using these for the past few months and they are beneficial for arthritic hands and wrists....but also gives you consistency.....with that they do take some time to get used to them.......😊😊😊😊
Idk about big grips keeping the club from turning over, but they definitely promote a push if you come too far from the inside. Hard to square it up in time I found.
They're massive! I use UST Mamiya low torque mid grips on my irons, Golf Pride Your Velvet on my woods, Lamkin corded wedges and an Iomic midsize pistol putter
TXG done a test on grip sizes and found it was feel for size but that as the grips got bigger they were heavier and changes the swing weight of the club and that was more what created a difference. Think the jumbo was 88g Vs 40ish gram for the standard. Made it harder for the tester to get his draw going.
I am using the same grips for more than a year, did not change my grip form or style, if any a little on the strongest side, it helps with stopping me to squeeze tight and sometimes re-griping on the backswing, it helps a lot if you have long fingers like myselft as I mentioned before for better results do not change your grip form or style. Actually help me a lot with confidence hitting my driver, been in the back of my SUV, and only come out at the range. I do grip very strongly with my driver and bend my wrist like DJ to better control and hit my natural power fade. These grips are not for everybody. if you remove the grips, send them to me, i will put them to good use, next time I re-grip my clubs.
2 drivers ago I switched to a thicker and softer grip after trying a friends. I was using MCC 4 Plus standard size grips. I now have all my woods gripped with CP2 Pro mids ( I have smallish hands) and it has helped me with control and consistancy off the tee. Also switched up to a larger grip on my putter with the same positive results (Super Stroke 3.0) over the stock Scotty Cameron grip. Have stuck with standard sized MCC 4 Plus on irons and wedges tho.
I use the Golf Pride’s Midsize plus. I’ve considered going to a fatter grip because I have big mitts. When I grab a club on the shelf with regular grip, it feels like the size of a pencil in my hand. Great video.
I use them with great success using the "Baseball" or "Five Finger" grip. Taking a traditional grip with these feels odd...grab it like a baseball bat and you'll smile for days. Keep in mind the great difference in weight between the traditional and the lightweight versions. Makes a huge difference in swing weight. Drop one of these on your pitching or sand wedge and you'll wonder why you haven't done it before now.
I changed to Golf Pride Jumbo Max grips two years ago and would never go back to normal size grips. One or two others at our club did the same and agree.
i have very similar grips, plus 7/4 wraps below but my hands are huge, if i sweat at all i cannot hold onto normal size grips, made a huge difference to me
Great video, as always! Don’t forget they make oversized grips in different sizes for different sized hands. I have these grips in a medium, I like them.
I just got a hzrdus smoke black shaft in the mail a week or so ago with a cp2 pro wrap jumbo max grip on it. I find it more comfortable and easier to control my hands and wrists through the swing than with a standard grip. I'm a big fan
I have a mild case of arachnodactyly. These grips have helped me tremendously. I played D1 for a top 20 golf team and I wish I had them when I was on the team instead of jumbo with extra tape. I can now use a proper grip where my hand face each other properly. My fingers are so long that the ring finger on my left hand still touches the pad of my thumb even with the big grips. But, the pinky doesn’t quite touch and most importantly they don’t dig into my palm anymore. I have a lot of lag in my wrists when I swing (I use the float loading method) and found these grips don’t hinder that in the least. 10/10 for someone like me.
I use the GP tour velvet grips from my wedges to my irons (might change from standard to midsize or adding extra tape underneath ) and GP mcc grips for my woods for extra friction when it rains and for the extra speed compared to when I'm hitting irons
I use oversized grips with three layers of tape compared to what I was advised and fitted for (one layer of tape and the grip stretched to make it thinner). I find I am more accurate than before and my grip feels more comfortable in the swing.
I use med size grips. Worked construction for years and it’s just easier to grip the club when it’s not so small. My game improved a lot just by changing grips as I can control the club head better.
Thanks Pete, interesting . Lockdown new skill for me was re-gripping my clubs . Picked Golf Pride MCC Plus4 Align. You need the grips, solvent, tape, shaft clamp, vice (i used my workmate) and hooked stanley knife blade. Take it steady and it's about 10 mins per grip. Very satisfying...roll on the 29th March..

Don't sell yourself short Pete, you are right up there with the best of cat videos. :)
30 yrs ago I found my shots were accurate and consistent with hand towel wrapped. Reason I used hand towel was that in December at Arkansas, it rained majority of the month and original grips are wet and slippery. So this jumbo grips are fantastic welcome.
10:03 “using muscles that I’ve almost never used before”. Don’t think we buy that one Peter haha
I don't have those specifically, but I currently using Golf Pride CP2 jumbo size plus 4 wraps. You don't squeeze at all and can hold the club in a weaker grip, as you mentioned. Best thing that has happened to my game.
"Its your only point of contact with the club" --- You don't know me!
I use Golf Pride cp2 pro jumbo grips on all my clubs, except putter of course. I find it easier to control the club face and can have less tension through my hands and forearms.
2 of my friends use these grips due to arthritic hands. One is actually friends with Bryson
Liar
@@huntersandberg9193 You're special aren't you ?
@@TZOID08 no, I'm just being realistic. He's a pga golfer, who just completed it the MASTERS, and your claiming that you know him. Hard to believe
@@huntersandberg9193 You struggle with reading don't you ??? I never claimed I knew Bryson.... READING IS FUNDAMENTAL AND YOU'RE AN IDIOT ! Go read it again and I'll wait
@@TZOID08 if your friend knows Bryson, chances are you do to. I read it correctly, I'm just using something I like to call ✨logic✨
Golf Pride midsize with a couple of extra wraps. Been doing it ever since I had got my MP33s when I was about 15. I might look at supersizing now though.
“Ah-mih-zin” I can’t stop saying it that way now
Hi Pete, I have these grips in the medium size. They help quite a bit with my arthritic thumbs. I guess it's just what you are used to using. When I hold a club now with a regular size grip it feels like I am holding a toothpick. ⛳
3 minutes in, and it seems like you haven’t really said anything.
Bryson’s long shaft. Mutant his code word and do this
I use the Golf Pride MCC Plus 4 in midsize. The lack of taper helps me stop hooks and my hands are bigger than the average person so them being midsize really helps.
Who else came from the Instagram live
Me!
I use Bocieri Golf Secret Grip with the counter balance tungsten weight at the butt end.
i just had my hybrids, irons, and wedge re-gripped to the Jumbo Super Stroke Comfort Grips. not as large as the jumbo max but larger than the standard i did had before. only hit the range once so for, so i'm still learning to adapt to them. needed to use larger grips due to the pain and arthritis in my hands. looking forward to taking them out on the course soon.
i use, i believe, dry-tac jumbo with 2 wraps of tape under. i dont play with a glove so having the nice hexagonal pattern grip is really nice
I've been looking for a review of these JumboMax grips, so thanks Peter!
Just new grips after getting fitted for Callaway clubs are: Golf Pride, med size, CP2 Red
If you do change to Jumbo max ultra lite grips you will have to swing weight all of your clubs to allow for the lighter grip weight
i have been using these for the past few months and they are beneficial for arthritic hands and wrists....but also gives you consistency.....with that they do take some time to get used to them.......😊😊😊😊
The ultra light XS are great. Just slightly bigger than a regular jumbo. I would try those before jumping into the XL's
Idk about big grips keeping the club from turning over, but they definitely promote a push if you come too far from the inside. Hard to square it up in time I found.
Peter, this vid of yours really makes me feel having a good fun watching it and I don't even know why.. great one sir. I've enjoyed it.
Switched to MCC+4 standard grips last year and WOW what a difference. Immediately felt more comfortable and more in control of the club.
I use Winn Dri Trac standard size. Using larger grips like Jumbo grips limits shaping ball
One or two others at our club did the same and agree.
i have very similar grips, plus 7/4 wraps below but my hands are huge, if i sweat at all i cannot hold onto normal size grips, made a huge difference to me
Using Pure and Star grips allows you to use air to install and uninstall without tape. Faster if you have air pressure available.
Great video.
I use lamkin jumbos in my short irons and midsize in my long irons. The I have 2 driver shafts with a jumbo on one and midsize on the other
Great video, as always!
I use tennis racquet overgrips to thicken my golf grips, and they work brilliantly, definitely recommend.
