Bro, I love mine, it definitely got rid of my duck hook miss. I especially love them on my wedges much like oversized putter grips it reduces pulls and pushes when chipping too. I hole out when chipping a lot more often now.
I don't have the jumbo but ibdo beleive its important to have the right grip its your only connection to the club. I just changed my grips from standard to medium mcc plus 4 golf pride and my shots have compressed amazingly, swing weight did change a touch but now i do more of a finesse swing and get the same at times more distance, made me focus more on tempo and hitting threw the ball. Im a large glove wearer.
It's meant to be with the rainbow in the background. I would be intrigued to see what your thoughts would be when fitted into the proper recommended size.
I was in a motorcycle accident in 2022 which shattered my wrists, and now I have rods keeping them together. But, I am trying to get back into golf because I love the game sooo much. I have been watching your channel for the last few months since I have re-aquired the golf bug. My grip strength is not as strong as before so I have had to add grip tape to thicken my shafts. I am now thinking of regripping to these ones thanks to you and this video. THX ALEX.
The big INCORRECT thing said is that slicers should not use them. I was a slicer, and since I now use them - I don't slice anywhere close to the way I used to. My theory, my hand were overactive and in the wrong positions. Now with the thick grips, I have much better face control. So if you are a slicer, don't be afraid to try it.
Same here, hate that these internet guys are turning beginners/slicers off of these. They’ve helped my game a ton. I’ve been playing for 3 years and don’t play much, once a week if I’m lucky. I work with my hands and have arthritis. These save my hands from more wear and tear and help with my control. I am a slicer and it doesn’t make it worse, seems to help more than it hurts.
Most slicers lack face angle awareness. A larger diameter grip will provide instant face angle feedback so you will actually get better at squaring the face at impact.
Just a bit of insight into these grips from someone who’s used them on and off for the last 5 years. Firstly, I shot my first ever round under par with them 5 years ago & I got down to a +2.7 handicap with these grips. When I purchased some new irons a couple of years ago, I played ok with some standard midsize +4 aligns which came with them, so I changed all my grips to match the irons. Last year, my game declined a bit & I had a recap - “when did I play my best golf? What equipment was I using?” So, I moved back to using a ping driver & put the Jumbomax back on my clubs - this was without doubt the best decision I’ve made in recent years. I don’t move the ball a lot & I have a relatively consistent neutral path. For someone who doesn’t move the ball a lot in the air, I believe these grips are amazing, the club face stability is second to non (in my experience). Furthermore, don’t be fearful of putting them on wedges, personally - I love them! The light grip pressure really helps me feel the face. Lastly, from someone who gets a bit of wrist pain from time to time - I have ZERO wrist pain with these grips. Don’t be fearful of trying something different to your playing partners. Everyone has something to say, until you pipe one down the middle, or shoot your best round to date. Golf is changing, gone are the days of “you must do this” - try something new, you never know, it might just work! As it did for me 😊👍
I moved to JumboMax XS UL. They feel great, and I'm playing really well with them. I recently played in the rain, and they were VERY slippery. But Im usually a fair weather golfer, so Im not worried about it.
I have been using the Jumbo Max UltraLite Medium grips for 3 years. I felt comfortable with these grips right away. Swinging a normal size grip feels like I am holding a pencil.
Hello sir, I am thinking about these grips. Did you regrip all of your clubs? I'm thinking about my woods and driver. I already have oversize grips on my irons.
@@BigDawgCAM I have the JumboMax UltraLite Medium grips and I use a medium size glove. I know some golfers using medium glove have gone with the JumboMax UltraLite Small grips. The JumboMax Small grips are bigger than Golf Pride jumbo grips.
My clubs were supposed to have midsize grips, but were really slim grips. I couldn't hold the club and my hand pain went from bad to worse. Jumbomax recommended the XL in the tour series. When they arrived, i put one on a club. The first thing i noticed was how comfortable they were for me. They never felt awkward at all. I re-gripped all my vlubs and never looked back. Less hand pain, very comfortable, and improved my swing. I am happy i took the chance.
I recently had all my clubs fitted with the Jumbomax grips...Small on all clubs Driver to PW and XS on my 3 wedges.....best thing I've ever done...they are amazing...straighter and longer
I switched to Tour in XS for my Driver and fairway woods and gained 4-5 yards while correcting my slice. I did reveal that I needed to adjust my ball position with those clubs also. I tried several different JumboMax grips for my hybrids, irons and wedges including the STR8 Tech Tour in M, the STR8 Tech Ultralite in XS, the ZenLite in XS and L. I ended up choosing the JMX Ultralite in XS as it had the most similar look and feel (all in the blackout color version) to what a had on my metal woods but the JMX Ultralite series gave me the swing weight I wanted in the hybrids and irons. And they eliminated the hand pain after a round.
I have a huge slice, but i use a jumbo grip on my driver because of how hard i grip my driver when i swing. Took a little adjustment of my hands on the grip but i cut my slice way down.
I have fairly large hands. Struggled with hooks and over draws like you mentioned. Switch to these (Str8 tech jumbo's), along with few minor swing changes and my miss tends to be from leaving club face slightly open now.
I am 65. I changed from standard grips to a normal jumbo grip size ten years ago, skipped midsize. It helped me a lot. I am not a huge person, medium to smaller hands. Arthritis was raising its ugly head. It really helped me. I'm happy with what I have now, so going even bigger is probably not going to happen. I have never been a fan of manipulating the hands. I hit the ball mostly straightish. I used to get the once in a while wretched hook. That went way down with the jumbo grips.
Welcome to the club! I switched to the Jumbo Max Ultralites earlier this year due to some hand/wrist pain. Like you, I struggled with a left miss due to being too "handsy". I took to these immediately! My hands and wrists felt better. I still have to keep reminding myself to reduce my grip pressure and that always helps. I have gotten a bit more distance, but nothing crazy. One more thing, I typically hit them more consistently when I don't use a glove. Give it a shot!
Yup. That’s one of the positives rarely mentioned. A glove simply is not necessary, and if anything you can probably grip a jumbomax without a glove better than you can grip a traditional grip with one.
I just ordered a new grip for my driver. I got the XS which is 3/16 larger than a standard grip. I ordered two of the non-tapered versions. I am older, high HP and have arthritis in my wrists. It will be an interesting experiment. Good video! Thanks.
Appreciate the video review and all the comments. I’ve just got an oversized grip on my 4 iron and it feels great. Next season I may go for the ultras on my set!! 👍

I have the jumbo Max ultra light extra small size grip on my driver. I truly enjoy the feel I did slice the ball now I concentrate more on getting through the ball and not having that lazy swing. I have a straighter ball flight and love the distance. And yes you still can get those snap hooks with this grip. The rest of my clubs I use the Geo leap reduce taper grips they are a great value on Amazon I love those grips. Nice video thank you for sharing
I love these grips mate. I have the extra smalls and they’ve made such a difference. They have a grip fitting tool on their website. All you do is answer some questions and they tell you the size that you need. I tend to miss Way right so I needed the extra smalls so I can be a little bitmore wristy and now I draw the ball
Hey mate I’ve converted to the JumboMax ultralite x small and I’ll never go back more distance and now got a baby draw going on coupled with Brysons set up it’s a game changer 🎉
After years of using handtools like hammers, gardening tools etc I was given some clubs for something to try after retiring. I found I couldn't easily hold / grip a club easily. Did some research and decided to change a few clubs (driver, 3 wood) with a Jumbomax Zen grip from Adore. Worked great and then changed my hybrids and irons to a Jumbomax version. Only issue was my bag holes weren't big enough for all the grips using the Large size (after buying 1 to try). Ended up with large on driver, 3w then Medium on hybrids then Small on all my irons. Now all fit in bag great. Have had no issue s with wrists but getting grip to sit right in hands takes a few goes. I have a compressor and could change the old grips as I wasn't sure many golf shops have the big grips. Really enjoying golf now.
Something I’ve been considering for a while now ,I’ve got a broken left arm that never healed straight and arthritis in thumb joint due to a break as well ,I’ve got largish hands and use a mid size grip .i draw the ball always have ,but my game is rubbish now ,hook and pulls and losing more balls than ever to the left .Dont know if I should go that big in grip or use large grips with 3 layers of tape ,anything that may help straighten out the ball flight out a bit has got to be worth a go ,I’m not trying to alter my swing and start hitting fades ,just keep the ball in play a bit better .very interesting video .
I have experimented with many different sizes of Jumbomax grips. I am older, my right wrist is completely fused and arthritis issues obviously. I went away from them foolishly and am now going to go back. Fortunately I can pull grips so I didn't waste them. My son is 6'6" and a pretty good player so I put them on his clubs. He loves them...

That started the madness of trying to figure it out since. The main issue is serious power loss and an inability to lean the shaft and compress the ball. A sweeper is pretty much all that's possible
I have been using the same standard grip for 40 years but my miss is fast hands and going left. You have really got me interested in trying these grips . Are they sold in all the major golf stores or do you have to special order ?
I´ve just turned my clubs in to fit them with this grips! Been missing left all summer! Almost lost my will to play due to horrible draw sometime snaphook that i can´t get rid of. Hope it will help me ;P
I went from small to medium grips, and I question the move because to compensate for the larger grip I have had to strengthen my grip. Meaning instead of a neutral grip, I've had to rotate my grip clock-wise about a quarter of an inch. Otherwise I slice the ball now. I'm thinking about cutting them off and going back to a small grip.
Also did have to change anything with club or did you just replace your grip with a jumbo .I think I'm going to go with a large grip on one my clubs to try .thanks
I gamed a Big Butt driver shaft in 2005-10 and wish I still had it. I figured out that the club sat in my hands not my fingers. I hit that old driver 400 yards. Currently I game Jumbo Tour wrap. I don’t hold the club in my fingers anymore. I hit it further with less effort.
Can you clarify something please? When you said in the beginning there are 10 layers of tape, what did you mean by this? Do you mean it feels like you put 10 layers of tape on a regular grip or you actually laid down 10 layers of grip tape when you put the jumbo max grip on your club?

Like many others.. going bigger grips cured my hand and wrist pains. I can also keep my hands quieter and control the club face better. I've definitely benefited more going large with control on my wedges. 👍 Edit to say: I've experience no loss in distance or power.
I've been using these in the small size ultralights and will never go back. Only negative is trying new clubs and fittings is hard with thin grips. Feels like holding a thin stick.
I don't even have to watch the video. I now play the "L" ultralite and will NEVER LOOK BACK! I don't have huge hands (8.25" palm to middle finger tip) I do wear XL gloves. It's funny a LOT of folks I have golfed with have tried my clubs and hated the feeling (they only take one shot and say nope). They don't try them imo. The whole set is now in the UL jumbomax. Have they helped? Not sure tbh bc I am always changing things lol (ie, swing weight, length, lie). I 100% will never go back. 7 handicap 53 yr old with only a 95mph driver swing
Even the extra small size is already pretty big for my hands which is just right .. I used to have my driver with a mid size which still performs well ..
There is a lot to this. I wear a med cadet glove and these grips have all but eliminated my handiness in the swing. Plus it you have any arthritis in your hands they are unbelievable.
If you are a fader like me, I think these grips could send you more right-sided or reintroduce a slice that's been licked (my experience so far). I think if you draw the ball and tend to overdraw it, these could be the secret sauce. I have a medium jumbomax on a spare driver and can't yet put it into play. I normally play medium grip size and have also put oversize/large grips on my clubs but had to go back down to midsize. Your review is balanced and I do not think we can say that these are universally better for everyone (like jumbomax claims), but for some I'm sure they could really be the ticket. Choice for golfers is always a good thing and if it improves your game or enjoyment of it, I'm all for it being available. I want to like and play jumbomax, but I'm not there yet in terms of compatibility.
Noticed you used games improvement irons for this video. Like to see with your proper irons or put them on a good tour iron to convince me, good job thou.
My mate has a driver but with a bigger than normal grip, they no Bryson but they are bigger than the standard, and wow. The difference between how i hit my driver versus how i hit his. Maybe its placebo but I went the whole round after the 4th hole using his drive and I hit it longer and straighter.
I'm new to golf and the first thing I noticed was why are we holding onto a pencil? As soon as I could afford to I regripped my clubs and have been playing better ever since.
I'm torn on these grips. As an older golfer with some arthritis, I really like the idea of a grip that's easier on my hands; a thte same time, I struggle with a slice and tend to leave the face open, so fear the effects of these grips. It'd be worth a try if I could hit some balls with them, but wouldn't want to pay to replace the grips on all my clubs just to test them.
what would be the benefit of using 10 layers of tape vs going up to the XL size? trying to achieve a c specific swing weight? I play the XS.. I tried the M but I couldn't get the club face closed enough through impact so I had to go down a bit but still much larger than standard oversize.. overall I am really happy with them!
I wish I could see ONE, just ONE you tuber mention that Jumbo Max grips come in MANY sizes and styles. Jumbo Max Extra Small, Small, Medium. Large and Extra Large. You dont have to get the Extra Large grips like Bryson. PLUS they come in tour, straight and ultra light styles. That's OVER 15 type grips to choose from. I use the Jumbo Max ultra light (doesn't change swing weight) and in Medium size.
JumboMax stopped my hands from closing with my driver and now my driver goes straight or an occasional push right. Hitting BOMBS though, if you suffer from hooks or going left, do yourself a favour and order some JumboMax grips!
Massive problem with putting those grips on, it’ll massively change your club’s swing weight, which could easily affect the performance of your club’s.
Come on Alex! Don't be like all the other content producers. Put the correct size of Jumbomax grip on and look at the other models available. Try the Zen in say an XS. You won't go back to traditional.
They are not the 'actual' grips of Bryson DeChambeau. If they were, they would be his clubs and he'd be asking for their return. They are the same brand and type, no more, no less. As to the grips, the only surprise is that people have been fixated on the original skinny grips that have no basis other than it was the only way to create a club when the shafts were hickory. Common sense tells you that a thicker grip is going to be much better and I've been wrapping mine for decades.

Did you go max size or selected the correct size as per glove size on the site ?
Max size is XL, he went with large.
Best grips ever! I’ve been using them for 4 years now.

Who are they aimed at? Single Plane Swing… it’s really easy to have a single plane…. ✈️
Changed to these grips on my clubs, and they fixed my 20 year bad hook that I was struggling with.
Like many others.. going bigger grips cured my hand and wrist pains. I can also keep my hands quieter and control the club face better.
I've definitely benefited more going large with control on my wedges. 👍 Edit to say: I've experience no loss in distance or power.
The smalls are game changers! Haven't tried xl yet but I'm down for a good time ha ha
It will be very interesting to see how you go with all clubs done in the large grips.
Would you recommend an XL for an XL glove size? I keep getting anywhere from Medium to XL depending on how I answer their quiz online
I love them , Ive played them 1-1/2 and would never go back.
Same here, my fingers were killing me until I switched to jumbo grips. Made no sense to me why the standard grips were so tiny
We have had operations on my hands changed to them and now hitting better
But how did you deal with the massive swing weight change by the heavy grip..?
Coach, did you feel the difference more on long or short iron?
If I coup ho somewhere to test them I'd consider them, gaming mmc +4 atm but always looking at small gains
Are you still playing single length irons . With the large grips
Been using the Ultralites for 3 years, playing way better, and all the arthritis and hand pain problems have disappeared !
The large Lamkin crosslines are also very good
Do hands size is something to be considered?
‘it feels bigger in the hands’ - no kidding!
best change i ever did they are brilliant.
I have the Winn dritac LT medium with less taper love them
Love the Winn DriTac 2.0 Oversized. The bigger grip has me wanting to explore JumboMax even more
Does anyone use these with an overlapping grip?? and how well does work with that grip I have recently changed to overlapping.
Use the standard jumbo grips and they feel great
what would be the benefit of using 10 layers of tape vs going up to the XL size? trying to achieve a c specific swing weight?
And that some of the grips are heavier and will affect swing weight
Bryson uses XL tour series. 😎
I love the idea of these grips but I' not in a position to spend $195 to regrip my clubs
I hated the jumbo grip. Put it on and immediately took it back off. I use an oversize grip, but the jumbo felt ridiculous in my hand.
Just curious what size you went with? There is a size calculator on their site so I'm curious if you used that
No big grip for me. Slowed my trail hand too much during release.
try one on your driver next, would love to see that
so interesting.opens.up another avenue
Try the Jumbo Max STR8.
I now use midsize grips!
Short answer, YES!
Paige needs to review these as well😅
JumboMax stopped my hands from closing with my driver and now my driver goes straight or an occasional push right. Hitting BOMBS though, if you suffer from hooks or going left, do yourself a favour and order some JumboMax grips!
thought about doing this yrs ago , but was told it was wrong, perhaps I should of gone with my gut and maybe playing better
Massive problem with putting those grips on, it’ll massively change your club’s swing weight, which could easily affect the performance of your club’s.
that's why they have ultralites which weigh about the same as standard grips
Changed my game so much. Way more natural to hold.
Less torque of the hands with bigger grips. More consistency
£13… love to know where they are for sale for £13..?!
Those grips would push my ball straight right!
Pretty sure those aren’t the ultralites
Come on Alex! Don't be like all the other content producers. Put the correct size of Jumbomax grip on and look at the other models available. Try the Zen in say an XS. You won't go back to traditional.
Wouldn’t dream of trying to control a tennis racket, hockey stick or cricket or baseball bat with a skinny grip
But… do you have the shape and the size of hands he has? May be the camera shriks you ?😂
Pretty sure he uses the JumboMax Ultralite grips. Those are not those grips
I’ll double tape a
???? midsize
Bigger surface area, lighter grip... Makes a lot of sense! Might not go that big but the slightly bigger normal grips make a lot of sense to me!
Sorry mate way too much talking
You expecting a slideshow of just text?
They are not the 'actual' grips of Bryson DeChambeau. If they were, they would be his clubs and he'd be asking for their return. They are the same brand and type, no more, no less.
As to the grips, the only surprise is that people have been fixated on the original skinny grips that have no basis other than it was the only way to create a club when the shafts were hickory.
Common sense tells you that a thicker grip is going to be much better and I've been wrapping mine for decades.
Just unbelievably the biggest copy cat on the internet! Every video is a week after other content creators release hot topics. Johnny come lately or just a hack???🧐😉
