Hearing this got me tearing up. I always had a feeling my dad knew he wasn’t gonna live much longer. I remember him crying over the phone with me in the mental hospital and him in a normal hospital but he didn’t care about himself in that moment. He just wanted his daughter to live a happy and healthy life. Three days later he died, went to sleep and didn’t wake up. It was so sudden and I used to think he was selfish for that but I also couldn’t imagine seeing him slowly decline to death.
The cliche is that people want a chance to say goodbye to someone who is about to die. I was blessed to have a doctor challenge me on that and I realized I wanted, not to say goodbye, but to say I love you to my husband of 27 years. He was not really conscious but it didn't matter because I knew some part of him would hear it. Having one last phone call with your dad because he knew the end was near and he wanted to tell you how much he cared before it was too late was a wonderful thing.
my dad had a not curable brain tumor so he hang himselft and he didnt say this to us because he didnt want to see us sad about it and he didnt wasnt to be a weigh to the family because he knew he would be paralyzed for the rest of his life

I was bullied through elementary and middle school (susprisingly not much in high school, for some reason, people didn't bully me but they didn't really talk to me much either but I still had around a dozen people I'd consider friends). In middle school I finally got a taste of acceptance from "more popular" people when I became friends with someone whom I thought was a nice person with lots of friends, until I saw them start to bully one girl for being unattractive. Out of desperation for acceptance, I joined in on the bullying. I only did it once and I apologized to her for it but I still feel shame to this day about doing it, I was blinded by the chance to be popular and I abandoned my morals and I haven't forgiven myself for it.

This game is fascinating. Spooking you to raise your defenses, then leading you out of it to lower them past what they were before. Reassuring you after you feel vunerable to make sure the message hits home. Making you really think about yourself on a deeper level. Whoever wrote the script for this game knew exactly what they were doing and I'm so impressed.

At the end, when Mark’s “fortune” was being read, I was thinking, “Ah, this game totally misread Mark and is just throwing out some generic BS.” Then I heard Mark’s voice break at “I’m so incredibly proud of you,” and I realized that oh, nope, clearly I was the one who misread him. That was a really beautiful reaction.
i mean, i definitely think it was a generic fortune (can’t confirm if everyone who plays this game gets the same ending, but i wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case) but that doesn’t make it any less impactful.

I don't think I needed this test to know you're a good person. I knew from the first video I watched that Mark is a substantially amazing human being. I've adapted a lot of his philosophies and I admire his strength. The test kinda hit him spot on.
Honestly, that ending brought me to tears bc I have been through a lot and I am still here. Through depression and anxiety, I'm still alive... listening to it being spoken in Mark's voice made it that much worse... it's a nice sentiment honestly. Why it's in his horror games Playlist, I'm not sure

That question hit me hard, i would not want my last day to be people crying and mourning because they'll loose me as soon as the night comes in and leaves for the next day. Im also a very indecisive person, but i'd say no honestly. I would want to see people happy around me, even those i hate deeply. I mean i know i have no faith in humanity and i don't really feel bad when big incidents happen and lot's of lives are lost because i am selfish and i care about myself only, wich is something i heartly hate about me.
But i would remember those days that i just wanted the day to end just to go home and play games all night.
My last day to live, would be the day i'd never want to it to end.
Honestly I would be super pissed if someone close to me had one day to live and never told me. Losing someone suddenly is an experience that STICKS with you. It most recently happened to me in January, and that wasn't even a death, just an incredibly nasty betrayal from someone I've been best friends with for years, so losing them in such a way at least gives me the emotional crutch of losing my trust and respect for them as I try and learn to live without them. If someone close died and didn't let me say goodbye properly, I might never really find closure, unable to process what happened. I can understand hesitating to tell people because you don't want to make them upset, but in the long run for their mental health after the fact, avoiding disclosure would be an incredibly poor decision.

As someone who struggles with viewing all my experiences as luck or lack thereof, rather than the actual input I may have put in, even after years of people like my mom telling me that I'm of tough kin and that we're survivors, I...really needed to hear that. I don't think I've ever been in a good enough place, mentally, to actually take the time to consider that maybe it isn't just an abundance of luck... I'm not the strongest person out there, but I do know that I am tough. I can tell that when I tell people around me stories, people older than me, and those younger as well.
Sometimes it feels so normal to feel like you're fighting the world and everything in it that you forget how much it takes to even exist where you are today. And sometimes you crest that mountain, and you feel okay, and you start to forget just how hard it was to scale.
I didn't expect to cry today, but it was a cry that was well deserved.
What a wonderful video, and wonderful message.

@@richardpaulson6002 Don't know, I just looked into potential sequels and saw that there were two more, it's likely the variables tie into how the following games play but that's only a guess. Scrolling through the comments I've already seen about a dozen different words in the first handful so seems there's a lot.
There's actually a good chunk of offshoots by the same devs in this same vein of 'game' (although you're right about the two official 'sequels' for this game). Most of the others are somewhat less serious and/or fairly NSFW in nature but all of their quizzes, while varying in quality and entertainment value, are cheap and still quite fun to 'play' even if they only last an hour or less.

I bought this game a couple of minutes into this video, thinking it seemed interesting since I do a lot of introspection and wanted to experience it myself without knowing what to expect. Turned out it wasn't much more than a "pretty" personality test with some sweet yet shallow words and phrases at the end. They might have been meant sincerely, and maybe the creators just wanted to share them with others, but to me, at that moment, it really felt empty.
Watching Mark go through all these questions and struggle here and there, sharing his thoughts and feelings on some of them, THAT was actually a good experience. It gave me something to reflect on, something to question some of my own answers and probe them from a different angle. And I think that is actually the way we can learn more about ourselves. Not only by looking deep inside ourselves (that too) but also by sharing with others, opening up, talking about ideas, feelings, fears, hopes, and so on. Not simply keeping them inside or throwing them out into the world, but having them heard by someone; observing how others react; hearing their opinions on them; maybe changing their own opinions even; and thinking about what others have to say, how they see things and experience them.
So yes, in a way, that game gave me a lot to think about. And seeing how touched Mark was in the end, I even have to reevaluate my opinion on this game. A little.

@@deweessect7049 idk I feel like it would be better if I told the people around me it was my last day because they would get the closure of being able to say goodbye and get things off their chest if they had to, idk I just feel like it would be selfish to have my last day be a good time and be gone before I have to see any pain of my loved ones because if there's anything that anyone close to me wanted to tell me or talk to me about before I died and they never got to, it would eat them up inside that they never got that closure

I mean, every modern religion started as a cult. And the "part of something greater" and wanting to validate/compliment people for their strength is what religion (ideally should) do. The negative connotation of cults has to do it them twisting people's lives and going against the social norms, but remember Christianity at the time went against the ruling order and for a period was used to reject human progress and equality. Honestly, So long as they aren't enticing people to lose their life fortunes or commit a mass suicide, I think the project is fine ("something greater than yourself" is used for everything from a recycling group to world domination). All that matters is if individual people feel better after playing. But yeah, we don't know until it's over. Get back to you in 10 years I guess (or not because I won't care then).
@@vullord666 I played this game. It's part of a game trilogy. The second episode is titled "The Test: Hypothesis Rising", the third is "The Test: Final Revelation". The third episode reveals what the devs meant by this phrase. Without spoiling too much, all I can say is that it's harmless.

Agreed. My best friend's husband dealt with anger issues for a long time, so much so that it nearly ended their marriage. He made him get counseling and it really saved many of his relationships, not just the one with my bestie. Anger is a difficult emotion to get a handle on because it's EASY to get angry, and it's easy to use it to hide other emotions, so it's truly an amazing thing when someone is able to work hard to get a handle on it.
All jokes aside, this video really humanized Mark to me, to hear him talk so openly about his bad habits and traits really makes me feel better as a person altogether. I have a tendency to beat myself up over every little thing and that can hurt my productivity massively, to know that not only am I not the only one with such negative traits, but I share them with someone who could manage to be so successful is simply reassuring, this was a great experience, thank you Mark!
What you're describing is a form shame. I think there are more people who understand and relate to where you're coming from than you realize. I don't know the extent to which this is affecting you, but if you find it's getting in your way and holding ypu back, you might be a candidate for some Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. (That is, if you've never had any.)
I won't go into the gritty details of everything I've been through, but being a recovering addict, I used to be well acquainted with shame. The fact that I had literally flunked out of my first attempt at college (among other failures and a plethora of health issues) was one of the biggest sticking points that affected my self-esteem and self-worth.
CBT helps you challenge the those thoughts, reframe them, and ultimately let them go. It was an essential component to clawing my way out of the pit I had, slowly, dug for myself. Now I'm 10 years sober, went back to get my BSC in Cell and Molecular Biology, and am now following my dream of becoming a medical doctor.
But you don't have to be an addict or dealing with suicidal ideations to benefit from CBT. I just used my story to illustrate how nothing is set in stone unless you never try again or unless you're dead. With enough determination and support, you can pick yourself up from the lowest of rock-bottoms and rise above it.
This is why Mark is one of my favourite online personalities. He shows that he's an actual human being. One that millions of people around the world love
