Being isolated from the world and all JBP sounds like heaven to me Gary. Here in Chelmsford (not a million miles away from you), we also had a covering of snow, I woke up to four and a half inches but that decreased once I got out of bed. I do remember the winter of 1963 and that was what you called a substantial amount of snow. The schools kept going as did everything else, but of course these days the snowflake generation just hide away, gets my goat that 🐐 Cheers and take care, stay virus free. 👍👍👍👍👍

Hi Gary. Thanks for your latest vid. You had a bit more snow than we have had up to now. We are in very different environments, you are in a low land forrest situation, whilst we are in a pennine moorland environment. We consider that we came off quite lightly this time, no power outages and we were not actually snowed in for long. Great to see some of your preparations for the adverse weather. I have a lamp similar to yours, mine is a bit older, it cam from my grandparents house. It looks as though the snow wasn't as bad as was forecast for either of us but living where we do, we have to be prepared. Great to see you all enjoyed the sledging! All else is ok here. Keep warm, stay healthy and take care. I hope you managed to stay away from Vicky and her bricks! Johnny. North West England.

Hello Johnny, i always enjoy reading your comments, The weather has been lovely today, 14c and sunny. I have been in the garden most of the day planting onion sets, about 200 of them, could even be more . Its lovely your lamp has been passed down, a very special item. I have been looking at cranberry coloured glass ones, they seem to be the most sort after lamps on ebay, what colour is your one ? The cost of running an oil lamp is now so expensive compared to an efficient electric bulb ! but i do love them. Last night i watch wartime Britain on 5 on demand, ( mainly about make do and mend, food and veg growing) with my oil lamp on, a small glass of gin, wood burner running, a perfect step back in time ! bollocks still intact ! Yes our lamp must be one of the few around where we live and not that long ago there would have been many. There are many on essay, so the cranberry glass are the most desirable then, this one has a clear chimney and a white glass globe, my late Dad could remember it and others being in regular use at home. Yes there is something about the light from oil lamps- and candles. You certainly gave yourself an atmosphere to watch that war time program in. The gin would be enough, lol! Now days we rely way too much on modern technology and when this breaks which it often does people struggle to function and cant adopt back to the simple old ways. For a pathetic example, i had to give my Solar power electric export meter reading last week to the electric company to receive a payment, their computer system was down at their end for over a week ! none of them could put a bloody pen to paper to calculate and process the payment. A proper "computer says no " situation , hate the modern world, but love modern solar free energy ! ha ha ! thanks very much and take good care.

There were times at my house my main door, the storm door opens outwards, and a 3 foot tall wind drifted bank was hard to push the door open to shovel out. Hello Karen, Hope you keeping well. The sledging hills are from very old quarries (from early 1800s) they were what is called "crag pits", many thick layers of sea shells dug out for a substitute for lime used in farming and lime mortar making. The pits are gentle sloping , not too deep and very safe to play in. You can still do a lot with 1/3 of an acre, plenty for growing veg and a few chickens, we use to have just 1/10th of an acre before we moved here. we had chickens, plenty of veg and fruit trees and 1 beehive, just all crammed in ! my next door neighbour had 1/3 of an acre, i used to look over the fence with envy ! ha ha. I had a lot of laughs about it. Being smart, I had decent winter tyres on my car, so no problems at all. Still, I couldn't belive how unprepared Welsh are. It's just a bit of snow :), you get to be worried, when it's knee deep, gas and/or electricity is cut off.. Otherwise.. go outside, make a snowman, enjoy the life:)

I haven’t watched the TV in a decade. It’s nothing but a fear mongering machine and the weather is no exception. They talk about snow and winds as if they are Antarctic storms and even a small amount of rain comes with a weather warning. Utterly ridiculous.
The British public is now frightened of its own shadow.
I used to drive an old fashioned mini over the top of the Cotswolds in two foot of snow. It was great fun. Getting electricity cut off is a bit pants. We had a good dose of snow last week but not a problem for a day or two.

Hello, yes i agree with the mainstream TV, always out to keep you worried ! wow i bet the mini in the snow was fun ! I think that everyone should drive a classic mini before they die ! i used to have a 1993 BRG mini cooper, it was in mint condition by the time i finished with it, it was my baby ! ha ha , i changed nearly every nut and bolt for stainless steel, also all the trim and exhaust to stainless, a bare metal respray and plenty of tar and wax oil to keep that dreaded rust away ! as you know they rusted fast ! They are great fun cars. Thanks for your comment, i always enjoy reading others stories. keep safe and well, take care

@@ESCAPINGTHEMATRIXFORGOOD I learnt to drive in an old woody, Morris minor traveller that you had to double de clutch as we called it. Synchronised gearboxes, ha, ha. My hubby said he’d take me out to practice and would then fall asleep. I only had 8 real lessons and passed first time in a modern car. The mini was luxury. It had a huge gearstick and one of those tiny racing steering wheels. I used to open it with some old key I found if I bothered locking it. What a laugh. My hubby did put on a new subframe when the old one rusted. Us oldies are definitely tougher.

As for a pandemic i never expected that ! ive now been reading about too much fresh water melting from the poles and ending the north Atlantic drift making the UK very cold, sod that i hate the cold ! ha ha. We didn't have a fridge when I was a kid, and used boxes of water in the garden....growing up in the 1970's meant we had dozens of powercuts, so there was always candles at the ready... How do you get on with the fish tank if you have a long powercut? The forest looks magical, nice to see you all playing, all good fun...

Hello Bry, hope your still improving, I must admit as a country we do rely on fridges too much ! i should imaging our larder use to have a large slab of granite to keep things cool with fine mesh to keep the bugs out ! its quite amazing you manage to not rely on them even in the 70s. I love reading these old stories of how things were in the past. Our fish tank is heated, we have mainly guppies which are very robust fish that can handle cooler waters/changes, but any other tropical fish would probably struggle. Keep improving and get there ready for the spring, i hope your coping well. we are always on the other side of a phone. Thanks Bry keep safe and well.

We are in a Low Sunspot period which are famous for Pandemics and extreme local weather of any sort as the Magnetism system is messing with the Gulf stream and the Poles and we have huge anomalies building in the Indian ocean. It is normal during these periods for the Summer season to be short and stuff to mutate like cells .
Ruined crops due to late cold spells reached down into Spain a few years ago and ruined loads of soft fruit buds, harvest can be stuck in the field rotting, as the grounds too wet to harvest. Wet can be a problem as the ground also can't be planted. Food shortages are common due to this problem stretching right back through history but we can't talk about it as the Global warming scam people don't like it.
Nasa said we will be in it for the foreseeable future and at least until 2030 but was told to shut up. I think it was 2016 when Nasa said the warm period we have been in since the 1700's ended , so we are in a cold period now I presume, if cold periods follow warm periods like they have since time began.
In prolonged periods child saints appear and promise a new life if you accept their new ways. The cold causes food shortages eventually and price rises, and riots can arrive on the streets. And it's not unusual for regime change to happen either. Plagues are common also, Locusts plague as cold damp weather driven down from the North by that messed up stream, makes their beds wet, so they feel threatened. Mice and Rats plague during these times as they sense the change in the Sun. We have been able to see the damage from Space building up during the last few years from Mice and Locusts.
It was around the 1st Of January 2021 when we entered the de vries low period. It's named after a butterfly shape on the Sun and is a consequence of the smallde vries low period and that lasted until 1940 with the lowest spots in 1910.
shields shrink and highly charged particles can build one hell of a downpour right over your house, and deposit four foot of hail on your neighbours and even the odd flare can arrive.
One things for sure we are happiest in the mid range of Sunspot numbers, at either ends are the extremities where power lines fail and death numbers build, and it's all as normal as Apple pie and custard.
Storms have been given names so people feel connected to it and get more frightened as they overblow all the weather as they would like it if we thought we had more storms than normal so they could blame it on us and tax us..
Lots of housing in the UK have only one energy source and it's Electricity. A lot of housing in the past twenty years has been insulated against any ingress of heat from the Sun and even the windows block rays, and if the power goes out they turn into a death trap as Insulation doesn't warm your house up. Now in a lot of housing if you want any heat the power must be on. Years ago even on Christmas day the sky can be blue and this would put a few degrees in your house to save you from dying whilst your carving the frozen fish finger. A chimney has always been missed, and even the mains gas lights I had, installed in 1873, which gave out loads of heat as well. One look from the gas man and they where disconnected.
In the USA down in the cellar they will have a huge generator that easily powers the whole house. It might even be a necessity or law in some areas. Our housing is so small no provision like that can happen.
If we read our local Carbon/CO2/Plant food plan/ scam, Co2 creation is about to be taxed into oblivion. My local one says most vehicles are expected to be priced off the roads and bosses will have to provide sleep pods at work to cut your co2 costs from getting to work. I say this is why Lockdowns are being extended because if all the companies we used to have in 2019 where asked about sleep pods and all the other Inclusives and sustainability clauses they have have planned, the noise would have been enough for them to maybe cancel their plans. This way the few ones remaining will be grateful to have survived and will accept anything. I could also say Lockdowns are causing many to close for good and there will be a big hole on the streets. The ones that are left will have many hoops to jump through as this is a new normal where Co2 runs away with the climate for once in its life, and a Gender explosion has taken place and old socks can stop a deadly pathogen. Political Science has been installed if anyone hasn't noticed. We should be more than alarmed, factual science has been thrown in the bin.
Wood burner's and burning in general will be seriously frowned upon. Driver numbers are expected to be so low the main dual carriageway across the county is to be shrunk to single sided and the other side rewilded with Beavers. Seeing as the route is carved through hills and over moors perhaps some Bears and Wooly Mammoth would be nice and maybe some Bison and that 6kg flying Rat that used to fly around. Why's it always the Beaver, the look on my dogs face says they stink.
News out today Bill Gates has got some ideas about the climate so he's wrote a book on it and he wants us to read it, now that he's got his vaccine money stream sorted he's on with the next stream. The Globalists are in top gear and even Prince Charles is on board. Bills that bothered about the climate he's bought a house on the Beach. He's expecting normality like Apple pie and Custard not waves crashing in through the lounge window.

hello Blah ha ha, i totally agree with you ! its funny you should say that because there was one bit that i said but it never made the final edit, it went a little like this " I know other countries will think we are girls blouses, but we are not use to snow here and we dont own gas guzzling 4x4 trucks" . About 90% here own 2 wheel drive small saloon cars. I own one and never even bothered to try and go out as it would get stuck straight away, we never bother with snow chains as this snow is rare. Also us UK people use a tiny amount of snow to have an excuse for a day off work, but i dont blame them as we have the least amount of time off work in holidays than most other counties. Thanks so much for a very valid point. nice one ! Keep safe and well, take good care

Hi from the US. What do you mean by power cuts? We live in a rural area and usually it’s from ice more than snow we can lose power meaning something damaged the lines like a tree fell on the power lines. You make it sound like your power is purposely cut off😧

    • @ESCAPINGTHEMATRIXFORGOOD
      @ESCAPINGTHEMATRIXFORGOOD  3 года назад

Hello Peggy, good question, where we live none of our power (electricity) lines run underground, not even the low power ones and run about 4 miles through a forest. These lines are on wooden poles. Also a lack of maintenance on behalf of the electricity company is also a big factor. These bring power cuts to us in weather that is not even that bad. Its very common to loose power in any type of storm here. On top of that the water company is also not maintaining their pump house and we are on occasions going without water ! but thats another story ! cant wait to draw our own water from our well , eventually we will supply our own electric (need to invest in a battery bank for that) and our own water. Thanks so much for your question, thanks for popping by, keep safe and well, take care
