I'm not sure about the beyerdynamic MMX 200, but I have the beyerdynamic MMX 100 and the microphone randomly began cutting out after about 6 months (just a warning for those looking at these) The sound quality is wonderful tho :)
I've had problems with the removable mic stop working. And they don't have the mic for sale anywhere if you want to replace it. Definitely not worth it
My biggest personal disappointment was the lack of an inline chat/game mixer (except for maybe the last headset...I couldnt tell). This is a requirement for any headset I own. With how inconsistent teammate's mic volumes can be, this feature is by far my favorite. It's annoying having to change it in game every couple matches to get the mix I want.
The sound augmentation on the MMX is something I tend to look for as a gaming mom. Especially when the kiddos aren't in the same room with me. Allows me to hear what's going on with them but still able to enjoy some me time as well.

Maxwell owner here. the drawback? It is a risky headset. Its driver is very sensitive that has a relatively higher chance to break if you messed up some "pressure" on the earcups. The foil can wrinkle and it most likely would affect the audio. Mine had some wrinkle and stopped working on 1 side after 3 months, replaced with warranty. The new one does not have any wrinkle at start.. but now has very small ones. I can hear some crackling sound (with or without audios playing in the headset) when moving my head. Hopefully it does not break like my first one. Some says that one of the cause of the wrinkle is when the earcup is pressed in your head, creating changes in pressure. or even when removing the headset using one hand which causes some pressure on the other side. something like that. Another one, is that for gaming, footsteps or sound stage is not the best. it is great, but not on top unlike other gaming headsets. Sound quality is the best though
That's precisely why I replaced the Maxwells with the Turtle Beach and the only thing I miss is the battery life. I can't handle such ridiculously fragile premium headphones. The idea is to enjoy them and not live worried.
exactly the same thing happened to me. Left driver started to break after a couple months normal use.Same thing happened then with the replaced one. I'm also just getting the Turtle Beach stealth pro now.

How come Astro's never get rec anymore, by far have been my personal favorite. Astro A50's specifically. Went through Razer, Corsair, Turtle beach (lol), and ended up at Astro's. Everything sounds cheap when compared.
I love my Virtuoso Pros. The sound is great and definitely has that extra bass which I like. My only complaints are I wish the padding on the ear cups was more comfortable (hoping for aftermarket options) and if they were more over ear than on ear. Also the braided cable can make noise with friction. Other than that I love everything about them.

Hi can u tell me your synapse settings for it as im struggling to find decent settings for it. As i play rainbow six siege so i gotta hear footsteps lol
I have the blackshark v2 pros 2023 and the only thing that gets me is the actual mic mute button and the fact there is no tone or light to let me know that my mic is muted. If they fix that the headset is perfect.
I have literally tried all of the headsets mentioned in this video except the Maxwell and the beyerdynamics and found myself ALWAYS going back to ol’ faithful my Virtuoso XT and I only play on console.
Already got the basilisk mouse (best rated gaming mouses in alot fo reviews) has the razer huntsman v2 thing on my wishlist for chirstmas. Then i have this headset left which i’ll by on my own. And my razer collection is complete (sorta)
Do not waste your money on the Maxwells. Sure they sound good, but they rarely work. The range is horrible and even while sitting right next to the dongle they FREQUENTLY disconnect and reconnect. I owned and used them as my daily drivers for 6mo before putting them to the side as $300+ (Xbox version) paperweights. I contacted support several times over this issue and they were never able to solve the problem. I tried them on several different PC's, laptops, desktops, and my Pixel Pro 7 and all had the same issue. I'm not sure the reviewers are using them long enough for the issues to rear it's head. I went back to my Arctis Nova Pro Wireless and have never been happier. Not sure why they aren't on the list. PS...everyone I talked to on my discord like the sound of the Arctis mic over the Maxwells.
BSV2 Pro look amazing, nice touch for Synapse. I was wondering if you had any problems recently with the update, the razer subreddit is full of posts saying it messed up the audio after updating.
@@aukwi prob cuz they suck along with basically everything else razer has with audio XD, likely due to them cheaping out on some internals (not unusual for razer) as I remember some cheapo KZ iems had similar issues on systems with some on board audio solutions and on cheap sound boards.
i have the razer kraken ultimate headset and after the update my headset is completely screwed. My audio comes and goes. For some games it’ll say “No sound driver” and for others if i switch in and out of tabs the headset just breaks and takes away my audio. Reinstalling razer, my pc, and troubleshooting don’t do anything. I’m bummed bc the headset was pretty pricey at the time i bought it. The mic quality used to be good as well and now it sucks. I don’t recommend purchasing razer headsets… atleast now. Razer won’t address the issue and they keep blaming their buyers by saying it’s our pcs problem and saying “make sure it’s set as your audio device.” They are 0 help and investing in any razer product is a waste of money.
I would get the Maxwells but the fact that that the mic is not as good as my Blackshark v2 wireless (2022). It also doesn’t have simultaneous Bluetooth and wireless like other options. If it had those things, they’d be my match made in heaven 😍
@@nazarethproductions7095 Absolutely, im still tempted on buying them just for the sound still. And as for the mic it honestly does the job pretty well compared to other headset mics with a similar price in the market so I wouldn’t really mind.
I have the maxwell audeze ultraviolet. Amazing headset. Batteries last a really long time, to have dolby atmos so perfect. Zeos refered me to this headset.
I do agree, Black shark v2 is amazing. BUT.... ive gone through 2 of these because the plastic piece that holds the ear cup to the headband breaks and is very prone to break. Not sure why but it happened twice and is pretty well known. Edit: this is in the span of a year
I will say on the audeze maxwell as soon as i “upgraded” my friends all were asking why my mic sounded so bad. (Compared to a $100 arctis nova 3 headset) The mic in my opinion is definitely a weak spot, but the quality from my experience is very good.
Cannot recommend the Corsair HS80 AT ALL. Awful ear cushion quality that rips off after 3-4 months. Does not come with extra ear cups or anything. At that pricepoint, a big ripoff. Has a good mic but nothing to trade physical quality over.
I don't know if you already decided but in my opinion it is hard to compare them. One is gaming related, another music with dedicated mic, closed vs open back, EQ vs no EQ, and so on. Depends what you want to do with the headphones mainly. If music is the answer, LCD is the way to go, maybe even better to choose other headphones. If your main goal is gaming, you have tons of great products.
I think when I shift to a stand alone this number 1 might be a nice option. Your Spot on with the Number 2. If anyone comes across reviews that Rate the Cloud 3 higher then the V2 2023. Run. I own both. They are not even in the same class. you will lose out in every category. If V2 2023 did not exist then i would place the Clod 3 in number 2 or 3 maybe. Headset sound is underwhelming mic is good. As the V2 changed the game on Mics. so without that game changer mic is good. They are comfortable but not Razor Blackshark comfortable. They also suffer from the Pleather cups. Which in long use causes the ear sweat. I regret buying the Cloud 3 and not replacing my V2 2023 with another set. That i broke.
I have the Xbox wireless headset. It’s great, but the only complaint I have is that the battery life seems to dwindle overtime. When I first got it I would charge it once a week. Now I charge it daily
@@bl1nkfps933 Nova Pro, the simultaneous connectivity via bluetooth and wifi and never ending battery was a selling point to me. I’ve exchanged that to better audio quality as for me this headset is being used for CS2 and work, also the audio quality is not that bad. whatever you do, don’t buy razer. the headset isn’t bad. Decently comfortable, doesn’t sound awful either. the issue is Razer’s awful software(synapse) that causes you more time trying to figure out how to get your headset to work properly than you actually being able to use it regularly.
The thing is not only hit out if ball part fir audiofile it beats my sony xm4 headphones (xm5 sounds no different then xm4) it beat my gaming headset aswell steel series nova wireless pro more sound quality and the battery is also more then advertised on top of that i have aroubd 50-55 hours used so far and and it has 50% battery life left i shoukd hit 95 hours of battery life its gettinf more battery then it says on the package sound is insanely impressive i wear them 24/7 daily use and when i sleep cause i love my rain sounds to help me sleep not a time i dont use them. Which headset would eliminate my computer's loud humming noise without "active noise cancellation", but rather just passive noise cancelling (through a good seal on earcups)? I want best passive noise cancelling headphones cuz I play on a gaming laptop.... so you know... I don't care about it being wireless.

I'm a stickler for good sound though so I've been looking for a more premium wireless option and I think I'm gonna go with the maxwell. I'd have it already if it went on sale at all during black Friday but it seems like audeze is having supply issues since the maxwell is on backorder until January.
@that1godares669 they're about a year old but still hold up very well. Using them right now actually. Haven't charged them in about a month and they've never had anything wrong with them other than some hitches with the sound rarely because they are wireless. I highly recommend them especially at their price
My Sennheiser game one or s it zero??? (I forget which its the closed style) while good and has served me well I'm sick of the wires tangling up and also the foam ear cups have deteriorated making it uncomfortable to use during long sessions. The mic is brilliant though, on par with the razer i would say so might try to salvage it.

frank doesn't take criticism lightly
Razer headphone on number 2 is crazy 😂
What’s so bad about Razer? I was planning to get their kraken v3 pros as I saw them on sale for £150, are they bad or something?
@@azaanmaqbool2282 yea stay away from razer, their mice is fine but other than that stay away
The maxwells absolutely don’t sound better than the focal bathys for music. Lol good one.
I love my Blackshark Pro V2s (2020 still). But, DO NOT get them if the adjustable sliders loosening is a turn-away for you. They're SOLID in the beginning, but man, the two pairs I've had have loosened in only a few months of consistent use. I'm kind to them as well, so I think it's just bound to happen with every pair.
alot of people on reddit were complaining about a static sound issue when no sound is playing do you get it too?
@@aukwiyou get that noise when u turn the volume up, so i set the volume at 50 and increase and decrease volume on my computer and i dont have any issues
@@vaizyvj3345 Yea but thats the old version, the new 2023 version controls the windows volume not the headphones, they are at 100% all the time
Would you recommend for a console player
@@orbss5783 If the box says it works for your console, yes, but again. Beware of the loose sliders.
I’m looking for a headset with good surround sound and footstep enhancement for a competitive advantage in games like rust/tarkov. Could someone help me find one?
Thanks a stack for this one buddy! Really appreciate it.
So Maxwell v2 with increased mic quality to match or surpass the Blackshark then would just about be perfect in the current market eh?
all 3 sound great on desktop, but sounds still far from score-able
No Logitech G Pro X 2 review? Playstation doesn't have or require a proprietary wireless audio. You're thinking of Xbox.
Great video mate, I appreciate you guys that make videos like this.
My only issue is the BlackSharks is the lack of mic monitoring when using it on console. I wish there was a way around this because they sound amazing
Hi can u tell me your synapse settings for it as im struggling to find decent settings for it. As i play rainbow six siege so i gotta hear footsteps lol
Love the video. Especially the cameo from my guy Joe!
Wish they still sold the Turtle Beach Elite 800x. Still got my 8 year old pair barely hanging on and held together with duct tape. 😮💨
That Razer mic is next level
Thanks man, just bought my Razer Blackshark V2 Pro today cuz of this review!
Do you like them?
@@Tantuhard I do, but my audio is flipped in Warzone for some reason and I think it's related to the setup in Synapse.
Bro you had me jamming with Just a Friend at 7 in the morning!! Great video man keep it up!
I have the blackshark v2 pros 2023 and the only thing that gets me is the actual mic mute button and the fact there is no tone or light to let me know that my mic is muted. If they fix that the headset is perfect.
Much respect for FrankyP. Been solid for years and no drama or selling out.
Excellent tutorial friend thanks for the input
Love gadgetrytech channel
Great breakdown, this will help me a lot !
I just replaced my $150 wireless headset with a $50 IEM. The sound quality is absolutely insane. Much much better, it’s not even a competition
What is iem?
An in-ear monitor. Look them up.
I got the Truthear Zero Red
@@King-_Of-_Mars In ear monitors, basically earphones
I have literally tried all of the headsets mentioned in this video except the Maxwell and the beyerdynamics and found myself ALWAYS going back to ol’ faithful my Virtuoso XT and I only play on console.
All headsets in this video apart from cloud 3's and the maxwells suck ass XD
You get a like just for the Biz Markie sound test.
Already got the basilisk mouse (best rated gaming mouses in alot fo reviews) has the razer huntsman v2 thing on my wishlist for chirstmas. Then i have this headset left which i’ll by on my own. And my razer collection is complete (sorta)
I'm using Orbit S, love it so much, above the mic, Virtuso Pro and Blackshark V2 Pro very good, and I fancy on the blackshark mic.
I just can't bring myself to spend over $200 on a gaming headset. Can we get a video of best headsets under $150
Awesome Frank! Thanks!
The black sharks mic really is impressive
Definitely grabbing the Blackshark V2 Pro
BSV2 Pro look amazing, nice touch for Synapse. I was wondering if you had any problems recently with the update, the razer subreddit is full of posts saying it messed up the audio after updating.
All Razer headsets are just fucking trash lol
wondering too, people on reddit are complaining about a static sound issue when no sound is playing
If that razer design is swiveling earcups they are a win for me
Nice video im ordering the audeze maxwell right now!
Curious to know tho why the steelseries nova pro are not even in the top 5?
My current headset is a turtle beach 70x and when I put the mic up to mute it people still hear me so this is a great help thanks
Cooler Master MH751/752 clears all (except the Maxwell)
ive sadly had nothing but issues with the hs80 max, but the normal ones are perfect
I would get the Maxwells but the fact that that the mic is not as good as my Blackshark v2 wireless (2022).
It also doesn’t have simultaneous Bluetooth and wireless like other options. If it had those things, they’d be my match made in heaven 😍
You don’t buy Maxwell for these features, you buy strictly for sound. The mic is pretty good but for sure not as clear as blackshark 2023
@@nazarethproductions7095 Absolutely, im still tempted on buying them just for the sound still. And as for the mic it honestly does the job pretty well compared to other headset mics with a similar price in the market so I wouldn’t really mind.
Masterful video bro!!!
Amazing video Man!
THANK YOU FRANK ‼️‼️
my razer blackshark v2 pro just broke after 3 months. I loved everything about it, it really is good. BUT, buildquality is horrible.
I have the maxwell audeze ultraviolet. Amazing headset. Batteries last a really long time, to have dolby atmos so perfect. Zeos refered me to this headset.
zeos is based
@@joesmoe4778 definitely. I am just trying not to have my basement like his. So many goodies
I do agree, Black shark v2 is amazing. BUT.... ive gone through 2 of these because the plastic piece that holds the ear cup to the headband breaks and is very prone to break. Not sure why but it happened twice and is pretty well known.
Edit: this is in the span of a year
Awesome video, btw I thought you will be changing your name?
Nice review. Can you use the hyperx cloud 3 while charging via cable?
I will say on the audeze maxwell as soon as i “upgraded” my friends all were asking why my mic sounded so bad. (Compared to a $100 arctis nova 3 headset)
The mic in my opinion is definitely a weak spot, but the quality from my experience is very good.
But of course as you can hear at the end the quality isn’t bad. But if what you value mic quality you might prefer another option.
Can you plug the Blackshark mic into the Maxwell? xD that mic is GOAT
Its bot the mic its lacking bandwith
Please do the sound tests like these from now on 😂
the hs80's are very good when EQd with Dolby
no nova 7 ?
Didnt have to even watch this, saw audeze maxwels was in the lineup and already knew it would be number one.
Are any of these good for console?
Yeah
Cannot recommend the Corsair HS80 AT ALL. Awful ear cushion quality that rips off after 3-4 months. Does not come with extra ear cups or anything. At that pricepoint, a big ripoff. Has a good mic but nothing to trade physical quality over.
Excelente colaboración 🎉
how do you feel about audio technica headphones ath-M60x or ath-M50
Thanks for your video. One question, Maxwell or the LCD-GX. Please help
Audezee Maxwell or Arctis Nova Pro?
I will use those a lot, for CS2 gaming and my daily office work for video calls.
Which one did you end up getting? I'm stuck on those 2 too
@@bl1nkfps933 Nova Pro, the simultaneous connectivity via bluetooth and wifi and never ending battery was a selling point to me. I’ve exchanged that to better audio quality as for me this headset is being used for CS2 and work, also the audio quality is not that bad. I have Sennheiser Momentum True wireless 2 which has superb audio quality for music and Novas are not so far behind. But Sennheiser nether good for gaming nether for long team calls.
whatever you do, don’t buy razer. the headset isn’t bad.
I was beyond impressed
Which headset would eliminate my computer's loud humming noise without "active noise cancellation", but rather just passive noise cancelling (through a good seal on earcups)?
I want best passive noise cancelling headphones cuz I play on a gaming laptop.... so you know... I don't care about it being wireless.
I have the hyperx cloud alpha wireless and it's one of the best sounding headsets I've used. I'm a stickler for good sound though so I've been looking for a more premium wireless option and I think I'm gonna go with the maxwell. I'd have it already if it went on sale at all during black Friday but it seems like audeze is having supply issues since the maxwell is on backorder until January.
Are the cloud alphas worth it? I have the A50 an it took a shit on me an definitely done paying that much for headset
@that1godares669 they're about a year old but still hold up very well. Using them right now actually. Haven't charged them in about a month and they've never had anything wrong with them other than some hitches with the sound rarely because they are wireless. I highly recommend them especially at their price
@@that1godares669nah don't buy cloud alphas they're pretty bad
For mic quality you can fix it with software making it more nuts
How did you solve the issue with Corsair Virtuoso pro being only stereo not surround sound?
Is the Hyber cloud 3 wireless ones just as good ?
Are there any gaming headphones (without a mic ofc), maybe even wireless?
the HyperX Cloud III mic sounded a little bit flat but very nice
which do you recommend for the steam deck?
My Sennheiser game one or s it zero??? (I forget which its the closed style) while good and has served me well I'm sick of the wires tangling up and also the foam ear cups have deteriorated making it uncomfortable to use during long sessions. The mic is brilliant though, on par with the razer i would say so might try to salvage it.
Id like to see more open bqck gaming headsets in the future
My Turtle Beach Recon 500 Mic Is Bugging Now Had To See What Headsets People Recommendeding 😂
What do you recommend for wired headsets
