Great video - thank you! I know that I am late to this video and TEAMS has changed, but how can I create a team from our groups in 365 that allows as users come to go, the TEAM is updated automatically and do not have to update manually?
You have to turn on the connection when creating the team. When you create a public Team inside Microsoft Teams, it will ask if you'd like to connect it to a Group. Choose the group you'd like, and it will connect the users, files, and more. This is a GREAT question. I might just have to make a video about this!
Question: I manage a real estate acquisition/development pipeline. We use MS365 in our organization and use Teams for the video conferencing features, but we do not, as an organization take full advantage of the Teams environment. I am trying to change that, at least in my area of responsibility. I am a regular user of SharePoint and OneDrive for document management, depending on what it is I am doing, so I have good familiarity with both and understand how they interact with Teams. I am trying to decide on how best to setup a teams environment for what I do. At any given point in time I may have 1-5 acquisitions that I am reviewing that may potentially turn into actual developments should we proceed with the acquisition. I am trying to decide if I am best to setup a team for each project I am evaluating and then invite the necessary people to each one, or to make one team and then have channels under that for each project. In most cases all the same people in my organization will be invited to each project. I may use private channels to silo them into certain segments that each person has responsibility in. Any thoughts on how best to set this up would be appreciated. BTW: I enjoy the content that you both put out. Very helpful.
Great question! I would recommend doing one Team with private channels for each project. Maybe you could make a new team every year if you wanted to keep the channel structure for documentation purposes. So you could easily see, by year, your acquisitions. Channels are also very easy to delete if you ever needed to. Hope this helps. Good luck to you and your company!
Thanks for the video! When creating a Teams meeting in Outlook, there's an option to toggle off the virtual link. How can the meeting link be removed when creating a Teams 'channel' invite for an in-person meeting? Thanks!
This is a GREAT question. I have yet to accomplish this. The way you could potentially get around it is by adding the location to the Team meeting, so it doesn't show as remote, but at the moment, it still will show a Join button. Your team will have to ignore the button. I'm hoping they fix this with the new update.
I have several Chat Groups that should technically be transformed into legitimate teams. Some of these grew out of meeting chats that grew to basically become our one-stop-shop for the team or group chats that evolved into teams in an organic way. Is it possible to convert existing chat streams into true Teams so that I can then create this kind of functionality with SP?

You can copy the settings and members of it, but you can't convert it. This would be a great feature for them to add though!
Thanks 🙏
