  • In this episode of Tie TV, Daniel Bergman will tie a really cool, big, fluffy, chunky, meaty, nasty, yummy, delicious, articulated streamer designed with big brown trout in mind - the "Chewie".
It has a big bulky head that pushes a lot of water which creates a really cool swimming action for the body and Wave Tail in the back.
What do you think about this fly? Will you tie it?

    Hi daniel!
Less then 12 hours after tying this fly i caught a 90 cm Pike with it. Very freaky action :-)
Thank you very much for this awsome pattern!

I love this fly!! I’d love the fly to try for Clearwater muskies here in Wisconsin USA... the action would drive them crazy!

Sweet looking fly, I know some lakes up here in Saskatchewan Canada filled with nice Lakers and Pike that would hammer that fly, nice work!

Nice looking fly, and the action is fantastic. I would fish this fly in the Penobscot river in Maine USA. it would be a good substitute for baitfish for stripers. Of course with a heavy hook it would work well for Pike in lakes as well. All the best and thanks for sharing. Sean

Wonderful ideas which I will incorporate into some of my articulated flies. I will tie some black versions for night fishing as you suggested.
Mainly fish southeastern US but occasionally visit The White River system in Arkansas, should work very well in different colors most anywhere!
    Thank you!

Lake night horse recently opened after being stocked for seven years before anyone was allowed to fish it. For the first month the fish would strike on anything but the pressure is on now and they are getting smarter. Large baitfish imitations are still working well. This new fishery has turned out to be quite the jem for southern Colorado.

Riktigt cool fluga! är nybörjare på flugfiske och hade gärna provat den på havsöring här på västkusten :)

This fly looks and swims great!! I could see it working in all kinds of freshwaters where I'm lucky to fish. In the Netherlands that looks like a solid candidate for pike and asp and in Colombia peacock bass and payara would definitely be candidates but perhaps it is even better suited to our trouts on steroids: picudas (salminus hilarii and salminus affinis)

it has great action in the water. it changes direction like a glide bait.

Eternal Angler I agree. Usually flys look lifelike with movement and pulsation but this was switching direction. The fly tv guys know there stuff.

Thanks guys! That’s the whole idea. But also has a swimming action if you only swing it. 😊

I think it does a great job imitating the Apache trout in my local waters. I'd love to throw it at some big browns in the small creeks here
