The niche aspect is truly important for me now. Travel is naturally one of my interests and now I am making a case study based on travel- more specifically, a travel destination website. My past case studies were a snack concept app, a name finder app, etc.
I'm sitll a freshman in college hoping to break into UX Design upon graduating. There's a lot of discouraging information out there right now regarding this particular career, and it definitely makes me anxious at times. At this time it's also hard for me to navigate through everything and it's hard for me to gain relative experience (I'm trying my best). I found this video to be helpful. Thank you for your content!
I totally get you! I just stumbled upon UX a few weeks ago, and I got super hyped to dive deeper and maybe even score a job in this field. But then, as I went down the rabbit hole of research, I started hearing all these people blabbering about how saturated it is and how tough it is for newbies to break in. It kind of burst my bubble and took away some of my initial excitement. But hey, I'm still interested in this stuff
Hey Andres. For those that are early in their careers, can you make a video about how to improve strategic design thinking? Or how to get to that higher level design thinking?
Super nice video - especially interesting was the part of optimizing your LinkedIn / using dribble to position yourself in a niche - would be amazing to see another collab with Jacob on that topic!
I am so happy this video popped up in my recommendations! 😊 I’m a recent graduate and I literally had a “moment” today where I felt like I didn’t have the energy to pursue this career anymore; even though I have great passion for it. Now, this video has given me hope in order to try the things mentioned. Thank you Andres! 🙏🏾🫶🏾 Let’s see what happens 🤞🏾🤞🏾
Absolutely. For various reasons there's a belief that UX people and product managers can effortlessly make drastic domain changes. I mean you can, but don't be surprised to re-learn EVERYTHING. Being an expert in a domain, being actually passionate about the core of the business you're is the backbone on which all your other skills are anchored. It is not a fanciful extra point like it's often described in the industry.
Hello Andreas, It's been great watching your channel and following up with every video you post. I have a few important questions and i will be happy if you can reply me. 1. Did you start out as a business ux design agency? Or was it a personal portfolio? 2. I really love your edits and i would really love it if you can recommend some tips, channels or any resources that can help me learn similar video edits and effects. Just so you know, i have planned to start my RUclips channel and also document my journey as i progress. You're really part of the very few that motivates me to not give up on focus on my dream. Thanks a lot man.
Thank you Andres for all your videos. Sometimes when I feel like giving up on product design I come back to your video, I always remember what you say “if you’re scared do it scared” and to be honest that has helped me come this far. Started ui/ux last year October and I started with your video but the journey has not been easy but it has also been interesting. Please keep posting 😊 And I also have a question can a product designer work in a gaming company, you said your first job was about a game in your previous video
This is a nice video, but the very hard truth is that it's extremely rare to get hired on as a designer. It doesn't make feasible sense to pursue this as a career unless the path is already laid out for you by knowing people already in the industry
I have been at graphic and web design most of my life, I took a course on UI UX and started to feel more interested. Am I too late to be a UI UX designer because of my age?? I am 46
Same here bro. All we can do is keep pushing, I'd suggest practicing doing some mock up designs daily if you can. Start with something simple and then work your way up. And if you ever get stuck channels like these on here are your friend bro. Wishing you all the best 👌
i looked at Jacob Olenick 's' dribble and his designs are amazing but where is the UX? I don't see any problems that was presented to him to solve. Most designers are not communicating how they are solving the problems for the companies but showing just visual work.
i wanna make my portfolio site , kindly guide which free domain should i use that is not just for 1 year so that clients can view my portfolio... or any alternative free method so that i just share url or link of my portfolio to clients?
As for selecting niche, can I say that I am specializing in "discovery based platforms" or area like sports, books, apps or web? What exactly niche you mean guys? Thanks!!
Wait, I thought Jacob niched down on sports apps? How did he suddenly get hired for TV services? Would be nice to see more of his actual process than spending one night optimizing his LinkedIn. Any deeper videos?
Will AI replace UX designers? By the time I finish my studies and land on a Ux job, it will take 10 years and I’m really scared if the industry will fall in demand and salary😢
@@AndresTheDesigner Thats a comforting answer, can’t wait for the video. I’ve seen some Ai do programming in seconds and that’s scaring the software engineers, although I agree it can used as a great tool.

Yes!! Even try redesigning Airbnb experiences 🔥
hey bro can i see your case studies

Noted! Design thinking sounds like a powerful topic
Awesome. Looking forward to it if you do decide to make a vid :)
I was wondering what exactly mi niche could be , and reading your message gave me a bit of clarity , thanks !
That ending verse touched me brotha I wish it was much darker

Hey. I'm a newbie in design too, would you like to network?
I’ve been stuck for months after finishing UI/UX bootcamp. Now I realize the fault and will work on it. Thanks Andres!
this is one of the few videos that is actually valuable. thanks!
Thanks a lot... I just thought today about quitting my try on UX design.. You got me on time! I felt totally good after 0:20
Glad to hear that my man 👏🏼 keep going. Don’t give up!

Glad you noticed it 😁And God bless you too Emily! 🙏🏼
watching this feels like the year just started for me.
Loved it. Super motivated to rethink about Linkedin

Glad to hear that! 👏 Your very welcome.
Thank you for your insights and lessons, can you please talk about how to protect my own personal projects
This was powerful. Thanks Andres and Jacob!!!!

Great video as always brother and thank you for having me be apart of this one!
Thanks for coming on my man!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
What do you think of the Google course
Amazing content, amazing production. I'm speechless!!
🥲 really appreciate it. What was your favorite part?
Amazing content as always!
Yea but why is the hyp about ui/ux dying ? I also like ui/ux but why is this happening
it’s so hard to get my foot in the door 😅 i wanna be a UI designer 😢

I'm not allowed to share my process or even any work I've done at past companies.
Visual design is what gets you noticed. Problem solving gets you hired. So optimize for both.
Wow! powerful advice.
Thank you my man 🙏🏼
Random question: did Jacob only have a Dribble portfolio? Or did he also have a website with case studies?
He had a website too! But it was pretty minimal compared to dribbble at the time. Why do you ask?
@@AndresTheDesigner well I was just wondering if he designed conceptual case studies around his niche as well
@@TheBigperm9 most of his hulu-inspired designs on dribbble were conceptual 👍🏼
Ok I live in France, I am ready to start a big training in UXUi design and I fall in this video 🤦♀️
🤟🏻 It's good 🍾
Very good 🙌🏻
If it's not as hard as a labor intensive blue collar job than I'll still go for it.

Hey, Andres. How much experience so you have in UX? When did u start?
I started with no experience! I recommend watching the video I mentioned at the end 👍🏼
As for selecting niche, can I say that I am specializing in "discovery based platforms" or area like sports, books, apps or web? What exactly niche you mean guys? Thanks!!
Sure, what we mean is industry niches. Streaming platform design, fintech software design, dating apps, producitvity, etc... Hope this helps!
Thank you.
You’re very welcome 😁
Excellent video
Thanks Suzan! What was your favorite part?
Love your video!
Thank you!! 🙏🏼 I’m curious, what did you like about it?
bro, how would you get those project without experience?
Watch the video I mentioned at the very end 👍🏼
One more video that was made just to sponsor a service. OK. Well done, neeeext!
There is literally no sponsor on this video 😂😂😂

Definitely working on a video like this! Short answer, no AI won’t take your job! It’ll simply become a tool that we learn to use!
