Thank you for sharing your testimony!! I’ve been crying out to God lately about making the jump to ux design. I have no experience, no ux training ( I got my undergrad in journalism) and a whole lot of imposters syndrome. Your video was an answered prayer, and your videos have been the perfect starting point. I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I’m already so much happier knowing that I’m taking the steps to get there, and that my situation one day will change. Thank you again Andres, and keep the good info coming! 😊

This was great, insightful and encouraging. I am transitioning to UX Design, just resigned from my job and been having a heightened sense of inadequacy or cluelessness. I'm at the point where I keep asking myself "This is what I want to do, why isn't it working out already" Thank you so much!
@Chloe A. What what was the job that you resigned from? IF you don't mind me asking. I'm a Principal UX Consultant, and wondered if there as a large transition from the previous field to that of UX. Good luck on your journey. I've been doing it for over 9years and everyone questions themselves at some point(deep down), but you have to push through it!!!

I was a bit uninspired as of lately with my UX/UI journey. I think I may just be my worst critic at the moment during this self-study period. I think I really needed to watch this video to get back on the grind. It was refreshing hearing your journey.~
This video is titled UX but there is mostly talk about your eye for the visual, which is great but sounds more like UI design to me. As a UX designer on a two person team the amount of visual work I do is minimal, even though we’re responsible for it. UX is more about the research, the user flows, the empathizing and defining problem statements and managing stories. I spend more time in Jira than I do Figma. Good video all in all but folks getting started in UX should understand the difference between UI and UX because they’re not the same thing, even if sometimes you do both in a small org such as I do.
To be honest, in the end, UX or UI, our job is to solve what the Client wants, I have seen a product that doesn't do any UX except Competitive audit and still be successful out there but I do understand that when the market gets oversaturated with apps, the one that has good UX and UI behind it will be on top
Totally agree with these replies. I work on a two person design team at a small company so I understand having to be full stack. I work on improving the usability of enterprise software used for compliance screening and anti-money laundering. Not flashy. Not sexy. But, our users have incredibly specific and complex needs and that is where the hardcore UX knowledge comes into play. A flashy UI or pretty screens will not help these users. I see trends with folks talking about UX and sometimes focusing too much on UI and forgetting about what UX actually is, which is to understand users. The RUclips channel VA Experience does an amazing job at outlining these topics.
🙌🏼 thanks for sharing your perspective. I wouldn’t say I’m a UI designer, but I think you’re right in the sense that I didn’t highlight the UX design process very much in the video! Appreciate the feedback 🙏🏼
It’s common to do ux/ui for the one person but I had the same feeling that this clip was mostly about UI. Maybe sometimes it’s hard to catch a difference between those two in 3 months.
Andres, thank you for your motivation and inspiration! I am exactly at the same point - depressed and looking for the purpose. Thank you for your content! Sometimes when i watch few videos I think the person was good since the beginning and had all the skills, but seeing your realist video about your selling skill, show me that not always we gonna be good in everything but we can improve and became good!! People almost the time show o after but it’s amazing to see the before! Thank you again for your video!
Love this video. UX seems the research based methodologies to solve problems on the user journey but UI design seems professional handled by UI designers.
As someone who is 3 months away from going to San Jose State with aspirations of being a UX designer and learning marketing skills this video hit home.
I cried watching this video. I know where you were coming from and I am currently facing the same issue. I studied finance and managed to find a job as an analyst. But I cannot stand looking at spreadsheets whole day. Ive since quit recently and I'm still lost. Thank you for this video. It gave me hope that maybe in the near few weeks I can find what I was meant to do, just like you.
Wow. I would have never imagine my story would have left such an impact on you. Don't ever look back Clifton. Life is too short. Best of luck on figuring out what you want to do.
Love the entire vibe of this video. I’m so interested in this career path and I’m glad you even included your faith in this as well bc some people are hesitant in doing that. It made me even more confident in your story and how much faith you had to have throughout this process even though there wasn’t a clear path to your road. Definitely subscribing and looking forward to more content from you! Thanks!
I am studying UX Design now And your story is inspiring and motivating to me I hope you make a lot of videos related to UX because you are charismatic and have a good Youtber material that i can tell Love & Support from Egypt
This video came up in my suggestions a few months earlier and I was like cool. Then months later, I am working in ux design after having completed a bootcamp I am like wait a minute and I finally find it again and then I see you are a fellow believer and I am like 0o0 and anyway thanks for your content it inspires me and great that you are showing and sharing your faith :)
i can totally relate to it buddy, the way you told story is amazing, woul love to see more vids like this on particularly following subjects, 1. ui/ux design 2. entrepreneurship 3. Closing clients and please do share good relevent books too,
ah...."Performance Improvement Plan", made me relate to you more! I'm also into visual design and art. Your vids and Rachel How's videos encourages me to try this field out. Bless you more and all of us in this UX Design journey!
I loved the part when you said you prayed to God to guide you "why you placed on earth" :D Im in the exact same boat, Oh my God so relatable video! Everything you say.. well paid, demanding job, not even 5 minutes to do your self-projects because staying late, so you try to learn everything in that remaining few hours.... I'm also close to the "demand letter" because I dont work good in the last few weeks, and I feel deep down I will either get fired or I give my resignation letter first.. I'm feeling that this wont work, so I have to learn something new... exactly as my situation right now! I feel I dont want to continue, but I have no clue at all what to do next, too much expectation everywhere... Thanks for your story!
mid 20s and just switched to UX frm Graphic Design coz I was sure UX is more my jam. Every morning i asked 'wtf m I doin' whenever I see others thriving. Thanks for sharing ya journey.
yeah man! God listens to every thing we think in every second! honestly! Id become a UI designer in about 3 months too! Now im currently working on Prototpying UI for websites in Figma!

Andressssssss!!!! Thanks so much !!!!!!!!!! This is an answer of my talks to good!!! I love your phrase : good is a designer ! I have a background of ergonomics! And it has been 2 years That Ux design attracts me !
Hands down the BEST video on this subject I’ve ever seen and I’ve been watching for the past 2 years on and off debating. I can relate to the job burnout and loved the honesty about you getting a PIP at work and the awkward as hell phone call. Thank you for making this!!!
I feel you Andres! I just got my ever first UX Designer's job offer and i felt so happy. Like you said in this video how incredible someone can trust you, can paid you well for your ux thinking despite all your unskill ux design background.. after all your hard try. Believe in yourself and always learning new things are the key!
@@dammythedesigner maybe you should look back to your portfolio / you resume first. Is it good organize, does it have enough key information or the skill you list in you CV don't match the market/company needed? ^^ Thanks for asking and sharing with me
Wow. Had a somewhat similar experience on the exit part of my previous career into the creative field. I was a systems operations engineer but was always drawn to the visual communications side of everything I worked on. Towards the end as I pursued more product design/UX/UI roles my 9 to 5 performance was taking a hit and I also received a PIP. There was some controversy there afterward but basically, I was given the heads up I was going to be let go. I'm in a design role now and still have aspirations to be in a UX role but am really really enjoying the design work I'm doing now while I'm slowly slowly preparing to apply to a UX positiions.
Damn, that "you have to choose" is where I am now at the moment, My current job is a high paying one, but I always feel empty when doing work, it is very emotionally and physically draining for me :(. Now I am on my way to UXD path as well, this is my calling, ithink, because i have this habit of talking to myself what could be improve on the UI when using a mobile app/web :'D, It is really great to see that I am not the only one experiencing this. Thanks man! Keep it up! looking forward to watch your vids!
Thank you for the love! Life is too short to work on things that leave you empty! I'm wishing you the best of luck on your transition into UXD. If you need to chat or want some help, feel free to email me! AndresTheDesigner@gmail.com
The title of this vid must be "UI" and not particularly "UX". Or at the most "UI/UX". You focused more on the Visuals of the interface than the purpose, the reasoning. Which aligns more with UI than with UX.
Hi Andres, I am Rakib hossain. I had started my challenge of becoming a ux designer within 3 months before I came across your Video. I have 15 days left. Your video was really helpful giving me the motivation I needed. I am hopeful I will be able to do it. No problem, I will let you know if I have been able to make it.
Super same!!! I'm really a creative person and I feel like my skill is rotting in the corporate world even though I am paid quite well ;( . Instantly hit like when you said you prayed to God
I immediately spotted the "GOD Is A Designer" quote behind you... then, boom, you mentioned praying to GOD. I loved that. And, boy, this is such good content. I can literally feel the work that went into creating this video. Thanks, Andres. You earned a new follower :hugs: I'd find other ways to reach out beyond RUclips comment section. Maybe a LinkedIn chat or so, if you don't mind, of course. Man, I'm not even done with the video... just had to come back to add that... it's really awesome. Lool. And the video editing skill? Woosh! :fire: (Shoutout to Noah.. Lol)
I expected more from this video. It just feel like you have just started the video and it ended. I really enjoyed the video. But I expected more like what are doing right now, about the tools you use about the marketplace you use. etc
Andres I quit my job as a Project Manager recently for 3 reasons, one of those was to grow in a different path. I chose UX/UI as the path and, man, the more I heard |about your experience, the more I related myself to your story. I recently started to feel hopeless about working in something I feel passionate about, but I decided to try again, learn about others, ask others, collaborate with others. That was just earlier today. Just wanted to share with you that, once I'm an UX/UI designer, this video will have had something to do with it, at least a little. My best wishes for you and all your future projects.
I think this type of content is a bit misleading because you can’t really become a ux designer in 3 month. That just diminishes the importance and difficulty of the work that we do. It takes at least a year to become somewhat proficient at it.
There’s no doubt it takes lots of hard work! But becoming a “proficient” UX designer is different than becoming a UX designer. I believe you become a UX designer when someone pays you to do UX design. But you are welcome to disagree 👍🏼
I've learned over the years UX is not for everyone and if you have it in you, you have it. It a gift. AND to be a real UX designer you need experience, all those stuff you can learn now on the books or the courses are all fundamental basics.
Thank you for making this video. I am ready to transition into tech, but I'm not sure which role is right for me. I was leaning towards UX or project management, and this video gave me clear insight on everything I needed to know about UX design.
You should post more videos! Many would enjoy to see your journey and would cheer for you, as myself. Your journey is very interesting and your videos are perfectly made :) Good luck!
Really inspiring bro! The one that caught my attention was the one written on the board behind you - "GOD IS A DESIGNER" I love it! Thank you for sharing your story, and if you can share some tips on your workflow if its possible like your work routine. All the best!

That's awesome man! Love to hear you found your passion/purpose. 👏
Good Story!
I really like how you prayed for things and letting God give you things that you are passionate at.
God Bless You!!
As someone who is 3 months away from going to San Jose State with aspirations of being a UX designer and learning marketing skills this video hit home.
Wow! That's awesome man! Wish you the best of luck!
"I wanted to be in a place where I felt I had purpose" - deeeeeeply felt! Thanks for the great video, Andres!
Purpose is everything!! 😅 thank you for the love 🙏🏼
The way of telling a story and that editing. Oh my goodness. That was super awesome.
Great video. I knew I had to subscribe as soon as you talked about praying to God to guide you. I left fulltime ministry to do fulltime UX/UI Design.
Jacob! Thank you brother, I really appreciate the kind words. God bless
Thanks!
I appreciate the support man! 🙏🏼 Definitely uploading more content this year.
So sincere. So peaceful. Such beautiful soul
Thank you Matt. I appreciate that.
I am studying UX Design now
And your story is inspiring and motivating to me
I hope you make a lot of videos related to UX because you are charismatic and have a good Youtber material that i can tell
Love & Support from Egypt

This video came up in my suggestions a few months earlier and I was like cool. Then months later, I am working in ux design after having completed a bootcamp I am like wait a minute and I finally find it again and then I see you are a fellow believer and I am like 0o0 and anyway thanks for your content it inspires me and great that you are showing and sharing your faith :)
Whoop! Whoop! That's amazing to hear. Thanks for supporting! God bless you!
i can totally relate to it buddy, the way you told story is amazing, woul love to see more vids like this on particularly following subjects,
1. ui/ux design
2. entrepreneurship
3. Closing clients
and please do share good relevent books too,
Thank you for your kind words Marsad! That's exactly what videos I'm thinking of making! hahaha More of them coming soon.
ah...."Performance Improvement Plan", made me relate to you more! I'm also into visual design and art. Your vids and Rachel How's videos encourages me to try this field out. Bless you more and all of us in this UX Design journey!
Awww, so glad to hear that!
This is everything for me honestly. Thanks man.
So happy to hear the vid helped you!
God bless! And I wish you the best of luck
I'm only liking this video and subscribe to this channel if the editing and storytelling is just like this in every video. man.... This video felt like a movie
hahaha wooow. I really appreciate your comment 😭
I became a lead ux designer in 3 months as well. No experience but purely portfolio and learned knowledge, you can do it
That’s crazy!
please tell me how! where do you start?
How did you get started pls ?
Thank you so much for being bold about your faith!!
Absolutely! God bless Eunice
Bro, you so easy going and not that think much and just doing for data analyst guy. Impressive, very brave
I appreciate that!
Lovely video. Creativity is not the finding of a thing, but the making something out of it after it is found. :)
The awkward call got my like. Thank you for sharing that.
🤣 🤣 glad you liked it.
I like you. There’s something about you I really relate too… you’re very personable. Thank you for that.
Thanks Lucina 🙏🏼😅
Andressssssss!!!! Thanks so much !!!!!!!!!! This is an answer of my talks to good!!! I love your phrase : good is a designer !
I have a background of ergonomics! And it has been 2 years That Ux design attracts me !
Eliaaanaaaaa!!! Thank you for your kind words!!! hahaha I'm rooting for you!!
Hands down the BEST video on this subject I’ve ever seen and I’ve been watching for the past 2 years on and off debating. I can relate to the job burnout and loved the honesty about you getting a PIP at work and the awkward as hell phone call. Thank you for making this!!!
Thank you Collie!! Glad we share similar stories! And thank you for the love!!
I feel you Andres! I just got my ever first UX Designer's job offer and i felt so happy. Like you said in this video how incredible someone can trust you, can paid you well for your ux thinking despite all your unskill ux design background.. after all your hard try. Believe in yourself and always learning new things are the key!
YES! Exactly. In the beginning, all you need is to believe in yourself and an employer or client to give you a chance.
Hello Kim,
I have been applying for a lot of Ui/Ux job but I have been rejected alot. Any advice for me
@@dammythedesigner maybe you should look back to your portfolio / you resume first. Is it good organize, does it have enough key information or the skill you list in you CV don't match the market/company needed? ^^ Thanks for asking and sharing with me
@@anynguyen96 Thank you, well I would love to get an entry level job, since I am an undergrad or am internship.
I appreciate your transparency
I appreciate you!
That's a crazy story! Super happy it's worked out for you. Wishing you the best of luck in your journey.
You're the first one that asks in a polite and humorous way to like your video.
So I did. Happy New Year.
hahaha, thanks for your kind words. Happy New Year!
I just subscribed your channel because you are not afraid of failure, you embrace it and make the best of it. Best of Luck brother.
Wow, thanks for the love. 🙏🏼
Im starting to learn UX design because of your video.
Thank you for this
Wish you the best of look Jane 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I studied architecture and start learning UX design the sentence digital architect got me, bro thanks for the inspiration
Absolutely Fizzy Dizzy!! Best of luck! 🙌🏻
@@AndresTheDesigner ❤️
The title of this vid must be "UI" and not particularly "UX". Or at the most "UI/UX".
You focused more on the Visuals of the interface than the purpose, the reasoning. Which aligns more with UI than with UX.
I appreciate the feedback! I can see how I could have shared more of the UX design process in the video.
Glad that resonated with you! God bless
I like your story. Trust me more is coming your way. Stay focus and have a nice day.
I appreciate the kind words David! 🙏🏼
Lol)
Wow! Thank you so much for the kind words. I appreciate the support 🙏 And yes! I love taking my time with videos and making them great!
I expected more from this video. It just feel like you have just started the video and it ended. I really enjoyed the video. But I expected more like what are doing right now, about the tools you use about the marketplace you use. etc
Thank you! More videos to come on these topics :)
Hi Andres, I only wanted you to know this was so inspirational, keep on doing what you love.
Gabriel, thank you so much. I appreciate the kind words.
It's not difficult. Economy is difficult, science is difficult. Design is not, sorry
@@vekkdrumsagree but there's a reason why ux designers get paid a lot more than let's say marketing or just several jobs
@@vekkdrums man im sorry to tell u design its not easy, passion brings complexity in every area tf
@@vekkdrums yeah so learning ux design is not hard but becoming a designer who makes a living out of it, is
So if you don't have clients you should just go to your parents' place and pray together? 🙏
This was like watching a movie. Thank you for sharing your journey!
Thank you Bananasplit! Call me Andres The Director 😎 🤣 🤣
I am from a non-tech background and would like to start my career as a UX and UI designer. Hope it will go well.
Glad it was helpful Melanie! 🙏🏼
Thanks for sharing this , I am just transitioning into UX design and I hope the heavens favor me
Best of luck Lynda!
Congrats on taking the big step towards your UX career! Love the storytelling of your videos, keep it up!
Wesley! Thank you for your kind words and looking forward to seeing more of your content! hahaha

thanks a lot for this video this was just a reflection of what I am going through and what I have to do 👍
literally did the same prayer today. Glad i’m seeing this as i’m also feeling clueless.
God will guide you. Have faith!
Really inspiring bro! The one that caught my attention was the one written on the board behind you - "GOD IS A DESIGNER" I love it! Thank you for sharing your story, and if you can share some tips on your workflow if its possible like your work routine. All the best!
Glad you liked that too! And thanks for your kind comment Nathaniel. And that's a great idea for a video! Thanks for sharing.

Informative, Engaging, Motivational and most importantly Unfiltered. Thanks for giving us this type of videos where we see ourselves and get inspired to achieve what we are meant to be.
Waiting for more videos Andres..
Absolutely Shahbaaz. Thank you always for your support.
I love this video….I could probably resonate with it because so much of it is similar to my situation. Currently at a very well paid banking job that people would kill for,but my mind is constantly on design. I too felt lost in design at a point until I came across the futur and Chris Do, and somewhere last year I got hold of the book “Never Split the difference”. I’m currently exploring UI/UX design and hope to learn more from you. All the best on your journey Andres!
Felix, thank you for the kind words! I'm so happy to hear you've also found the Futur, Chris Do, and Never Split The Difference. I'm wishing you the best of luck!!
Amazing journey, and extremely inspiring! You built the skills and put your self in the hot seat to test them. God set your path on fire!
Thank you so much! God bless!
Saiet from Nigeria. I love your true sorry, I learned a lot. Especially on how you pretend to have known how to design when you know you were a novices. Great story
