I have 3 months to make something to impress a company to incorporate a service into their existing model. I'm not a coder / software engineer. Would learning the most ui/ux and using that to sell the service be my best option? I can explain how it would all work front / back end, I just can't make it work .
I am new to UX, I started learning UX, and I was looking for a complete roadmap to get a good job in three months. I asked many people and watched many videos to figure out the steps I should take but no one could provide me enough guidance to plan my tasks and milestones until I found this video. Thank you Lily for the guidance I am sure I am gonna learn all things and get that perfect job in three months. Keep creating great content❤
I’ve got a similar story: have a degree in graphic design but landed an internship for an entry level web designer but the role evolved in jr ux. Learned a ton during that time and definitely threw me into the world of UX.
Thank you so much for this. Content like this is what keeps people motivated when they're trying out something new and it can be kind of daunting at first .
This was one of the most helpful videos on UX I have seen, thank you so much. Also, my mom walked in while I was watching this and said, "Who is that beautiful girl" xD
Great video! Thank you for the tips. I'm enrolled in a Uxui course currently and having me consider the possibility of exploring a career further in this field.
I'm starting with UX/UI design and it's so interesting to me!! I've been a graphic designer/artist for over 10 years now, BUT this topic is something different for me and I'm up for a challenge!!
I was hovering here on RUclips to find an overview/advice on what you actually do in UX design. And I stumbled upon your video, I was listening to your story carefully and you motivated me to start learning about UX. Hoping to learn more and find new skills to learn.
Hi Lily, thank you so much for documenting your journey in UX! I've watching you for many months now, I really love your videos! The advice in this one is great, will definitely use it to finally start my portfolio! ❤
This video threw me down memory lane. I had to think about how I got started in UX. It was so long ago it was a whole different game back then but I've definitely hired people that demonstrated a sound understanding of design and knew how to do design well.
Awesome and very informative video, i just subscribed! I love that you mentioned to take a screenshot and redesign it, thats how I learned and how my passion for UX/UI grew and now I'm doing a UX bootcamp to becomeaUX Designer. Anyhow awesome content!
This video is so precious, wow! Both novices and seasoned pros will find great value in your observations. I would absolutely follow your road plan for learning UX design if I could go back in time. Everything you said is dead on, from realizing the value of user research to being proficient with wireframing and prototyping tools. Building a strong foundation requires starting with the fundamentals and progressively moving on to more sophisticated ideas. I really like how you stress the value of lifelong learning and keeping up with current business trends. Aspiring designers should take note of the helpful tips on developing a solid portfolio and networking within the design community. I appreciate you dividing the path into little, doable steps and making it seem less intimidating. This clip is a must-watch for anyone who is committed to becoming a top UX designer. I look forward to seeing more content just like this, so keep up the fantastic work!
I'm studying radiography/ medical radiation science and I love it so far BUT recently I've been intrigued by web design/ UX design. At the moment I will keep going with my radiography journey, but im keeping my mind open to careers that are bit more creative and can be done while working from home, especially if i become burntout within the health field. But for the moment I'm going to take things one bit at a time😅
1. You're beautiful 2. I started UI/UX design 2 years ago but stopped because I had to get a new laptop which took a long time and I feel like im behind by a lot, thanks for this video a lot, already my favourite design account
Since very long time the idea of becoming the UX Designer is spinning around my head. Currently working as PM I join many projects with our UI/UX team and every day it reminds me how much I'm interested in this topic. The problem is that... there are sooo many resources and options, so many things and rules to learn, I'm little discouraged and demotivated... like WHERE TO START? HOW? Thank you for this video... It gives me some hope that there is still a way for me to get into UX :) I will follow the steps you mentioned. And maybe I will try to find a mentor to guide me in this journey~ Motivation kicked in, now it's time to move on 💪🏻
Hi Lily , i just want to Say thanks for ur efforts to helping us in learning 💐❤️ u helping me with ur video to improve my English and to start in the journey of learning ui ux design 😘
The way you jump from sounding British to Northern American to Australian to Valley Girl American to Scottish and look like you could be from any of those places is messing with my head.
I've been working on a career change for a year and a half now. I did some college credit hacking, and I will graduate from SNHU with a degree in graphic design and media arts in January. However, my sights are set on web development and UI/UX so I've been looking into different courses/certs. You're so accurate about getting discouraged and then having the spark back, etc. It's definitely been a rollercoaster! Thank you for this video! It was so informative and helpful!
My mind blown off, I’m a Economics student and I decided to learn UI/UX and the self learning is like hell, now I’m in the middle of the road and I’m lost. F*$& IT
This is so inspiring. Anything is possible if we set and align our mind and body to our goals! For the self-taught UX Designer, what online courses (free or paid) were worth your study time? Looking for courses in Frames, Wire Frames and Prototyping, or any other course you find it valuable for anyone changing careers. Thank you!

Have you considered approaching Steam's application support with a proposal based on your portfolio piece/case study? I've noticed some major flaws in a popular app I use and am contemplating a similar action but I'm curious if this is a common practice for UX/UI designers, particularly when dealing with larger companies similar to Steam.
Thank you for creating this video. Im currently doing a certification for data visualization in Power BI. I'm curious if visualizing insights and data might be useful in this field.
Are there any UX courses that create portfolio ready case studies? or Are we all learning how to make a rectangle and round the corners and fluff? Where are the courses without the fluff?
the hardest part for me is ive never really had a career due to people leading me the wrong ways for careers im consdering ux design to help me to find my career finally
All fun until I've discovered there are 0 internship/junior job offers in my town (capital city...). On work days and IT days I've visited literally 100 stands and no one had an offer for someone who is starting. All offers (not too many of them) are mid or senior. I am really starting to doubt that I can find a job
Thank you for this very informative video! I’ve been thinking about a career change and it seems like UX Design might be good for me. I am currently a video editor and graphic designer, so design isn’t foreign to me. Although there does seem to be a lot of differences between UX and what I do. There are lots of reasons why I want to move away from what I currently do, but a big one is job security since the pandemic.
Im currently going to college for computer science with an accent on media, where can i learn UI/UX online with a valid certification (same goes for web design)? Its a while until im gonna finish college but id like something on my hands that could land me a position now 😅
