I recorded part of this video while traveling in Costa Rica and got sick 😅. That's why my voice might sound a bit like a duck. Hope you find this video helpful. Let me know if you have any questions.
Yes it will definitely help me to make good in my UX career 🙏 And I request you to do more about portfolios
Hey miss i try to buy the guide but it's not working. Is there any other way to get it.

Sorry about the inconvenience. This link should work now: alienacai.gumroad.com/l/uxroadmap
Fun fact: Turns out my account was blocked for a while because I tried to download my own product, and Gumroad thought I was doing money laundry even though there was 0 dollar involved 😅 @@Desicook13
All of this work just to get a good job. I’m so tired.
I really loved this video. I am a UX Designer in Ireland, I've been working professionally for 4 years, I have a degree in Interaction & Product Design and it's hard to find high quality UX videos on RUclips, there is so much noise and short-cut advice on here that I feel is a bit of a scam and misleading. Thank you for creating non-clickbate, high value, non fear-driven content in this space. Subscribed!
Can’t tell you how much I appreciate a RUclips video about design that gets straight to the point and is actually helpful. Thank you!
THANK YOU! I can't wait to start, you made me feel so confident/informed!
stumbled upon this video as I started learning Figma just a few days ago. thank you so much for putting this together!
i feel like i've been so lost trying to find a goal to reach for or figuring out what i want to do in general. i really needed to hear those words too. not to be too dramatic, but i teared up hearing you talk about being patient with yourself and your own process. it's just so refreshing hearing that it takes time rather than making it seem so fast and easy. thank you for sharing these words alongside some great advice for starting in ux. 🥺
Excellent post, Aliena. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Your point about changing goals to be within your own control was a lightbulb. Thanks.
Hi, I stumbled across your video thanks to the algorithm, and although I rarely comment on RUclips videos, I have to say I love how honest you are! Your points are real and precise. I am still learning UX/UI, and for the first time, I feel like a 'real' person is sharing their knowledge without sugarcoating. I'm excited to see more videos from you!
Thank you Aliena .You share your real-time experiences which are so genuine and really helpful. THanks much!
This has been super, super helpful! I'm just starting out in UX Design and between my mini binge of you & @chunbuns videos I have learned a lot! (Notes, books to buy, courses to take). I'm looking forward to this career change despite the challenges.
Definitely the most helpful and down-to-earth video I've come across recently! Thank you so much Aliena (and thank you RUclips algorithm)
This video was everything I was looking for! I watched the whole video taking notes just to find out that you had already made a guide for us! Thank you for the awesome PDF! 🤩
The timing of this is impeccable! I'm completing your FastTrack UX Course this month and finally resigned from my teaching job to focus o UX for the next 3 months. Thank you so much, always, Aliena - for never gatekeeping and always sharing the wealth of knowledge with us all! xxx

You are a gem to the design industry!
i never knew i needed this. thank you so much
so much value in this video. thank you!
Such a value packed video! The top 3 I want to further highlight:
1) Replicating screens: When I transitioned from a less visually focused company to one where design was key, using this method accelerated my skills.
2) Offering value when reaching out to potential clients is spot on. It's a philosophy that has helped me immensely in fostering valuable relationships within companies so you can influence what gets done.
3) Building a personal brand: It's like a secret weapon. It opened doors for me that I never expected, from landing speaking engagements at conferences to educational opportunities.
This is one of your best videos! Know that you are motivating people out there including me. Thank you Aliena
Thank you ❤❤❤
Amazing advice! Thank you!!!
Thank you for your honesty
Aliena.. you have no idea how many lives you are changing with this video. You are giving us newbies a seasoned perspective of the UX Design field that we can’t possibly have on our own. I will follow your precious advice. When I land my first job, I will let you know!! I am so so so grateful for your content! 🥹
Also, I saw that PS5 in the back (; what games you play?
I really appreciate your wrap-up and word of encouragement. We need more of this positive and authentic content. Thank you
You are so welcome 🙏🏼
This was so profound, thank you!
Thank you Aliena for your tactical tips! I always am encouraged and get value from your videos. Your hard work is seen and appreciated!
Thank you so much ❤❤❤
Super helpful video. Pretty much everything that was running through my mind, you clearly put it into words. I have arrived at building a personal project. The way you have broken down the steps. I’m going to check out your courses. If it’s organized as what broke it down here, I’m definitely buying ❤
What an honest and sweet person you are. I highly appreciate the way you delivered the awesome suggestions.
So nice of you
This video is gold. Thank you so much
Thank you aliena for this video
hey alienacai . I just wanted to say that you are a great mentor and keep posting video like this . love from India🇮🇳
You always have great and unique advice ❤❤
Thank you for this video. I'm 19 and i felt little bit overwhelmed today because i wanted to be a designer and i'm currently working on my portfolio and doing the UX course from google...so much to digest.
I just completed a year long UX/UI program through CareerFoundry. No luck even landing an interview after 3 months searching. It a tough market to get into right now. I don't believe the companies selling these training courses are being honest at all about how hard it will be to become a ux designer.
Hi, we're on the same boat. The amount of competition seems a lot for someone who just decided to start learning UX, but hey we're still young. One step at a time :)) maybe we can get connected 😉
It's definitely a tough competition this year considering a large influx of people started bootcamps. Connection, location, and experience are few of the highest hurdles we have to achieve. I'm not one to talk, but that's what I have deduced from all searching I have done. Regardless, I'm still eager to learn. Wish us luck!
We’re all feeling it. Just try to stay calm throughout the process
same, friend. same
Thank you so much for this video!!
Hi Aliena, want to say I really appreciate your content! As someone still searching for a role in UXUI design today, I appreciate the encouragement and reassurance about being patient. Thank you so much for all the effort and the tips you've shared! Much appreciated!

Thank you for this video. You are excelent person to making videos like this - you know what to say, you have experience and last but not least your voice! Long time ago I had a teacher and during his lessons i couldn't make a notes, because I just listened :D
Wow, thank you!
First time seeing someone speaking from her heart. Awesome advise....pls keep up the good work. Cheers
Thank you! Will do!
Thanks for the video Aliena, I need this...
Valuable points and most realistic video. ❤
I am learning so much from watching your videos. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing source of information. This one is quite helpful.
So nice of you
Nice video! I work in QA, but that was interesting to watch as well since UX is an area that I need to take into an account when testing.
Thanks. That helps me a lot in understanding what UI/UX designers do even though I'm not a UI/UX designer.
Omg I love this woman. You're so right in so many levels. Just want to say Thank You.
Wow, thank you!
You're amazing. Thank you.
Aliena, you are a great person. Thank you a lot.
Thank you too!
AWESOMMMMMMMMME IDEAS !
Thank you Aliena, I was so hoping that someone makes a video like this and I came to a conclusion that it is impossible to find one untill I came across yours, this one that is. It is really different to many others - very concrete* and action oriented. Thanks so much. I think anyone who wants to start ui/ux can watch just this for the guide and rest should be tutorials
You're so welcome!
very informative video mam.
Love the way you explained everything
thanks for the content!
This is one of my favorite video has some really good advice to start the 2024, I was working on some client's projects and got few done but haven't done my portfolio as i didn't documented my project progress but I'll start doing that and try framer to build my portfolio and you're one of my inspiration
So glad the video was helpful! Give you all the best wishes ✨✨✨
That's a top tier advice you just gave
You all need to watch this video 3 times and take notes.... Lots of info in one video. Thank you.
wow I love your video! The way you explain it is so direct & realistic
Thank you so much!
ui designer here. 2mins in and im hooked. more information here than in the class i was in hands down. share this video to beginners.
I am currently studying UI/UX design from google like you did and an additional UI design course to really upscale my UI skills. I am so grateful you made this video especially about the point on finding a client project while you work on your case studies/portfolio. Not gonna lie networking is difficult for me but I know I will get better at it. You really inspire me to create my own personal brand next year 2024 as I see there is so much potential and mental freedom to be had as apposed to the traditional applying to job boards!!
Thanks so much for sharing. All the best ✨✨
Hi ! Can you tell from where you joined that ui course?
@@ArshikaJ Hi, Sure thing it's a course done by Jesse Showalter. He is on RUclips on his most recent posts and it's called the 30 Day UI design Course.
@@ArshikaJ it's on the community page where you can enroll. Hope this helps!
I just started ui uc design and i am really loving it
I have been doing data analysis for more than 15 years, and now I am dealing with apps and tools to collect data. This video helps me a lot, specially to have a better interaction with the IT teams in charge of the front end development. I learn SQL and Python by myself to apply it in my work, so I think i will get into Figma, just to have a more holistic understanding of the data cyclles, from collection to insights.
This video gave me goosebumps yhoo and i have to watch it twice daily until i fully digest all the tips.
This actually a very helpful video you made.
The truth is, getting into a new career path can be daunting and sometimes we feel overwhelmed.
But I'm determined to be a top designer in the next few years
I LOVED that you said "But I'm determined to be a top designer in the next few years" - That's the spirit!! We only overestimate how much we can achieve in 1 year but underestimate how much we can do in 3 or 5. Can't wait to see what you can create 🚀
this is so good, i'm starting a ux bootcamp in the new year and i wanted to figure out how to get good with figma beforehand, so that tip of remaking a website in figma was genius! thanks so much!!
Glad I could help!
BRO THANKYOU SOO MUCH
thankful for this information
thanks for sharing!
I love you. Thank you!
S tier content and production and tons of value. Thankyou for your efforts.
My pleasure!

i just wanted to say thank u for ur video
@AlienaCai Hey Aliena! How could I thank you because I don't have words!. I'm so desperately seeking these kinds of guidelines for my design journey as a Product Designer. I honorably appreciate your guidelines.
Thank you so much for this! ❤️
You're so welcome!
Thank you for ur video
You have been an absolute God send since I decided to learn Product Design! I honestly cannot thank you enough! Any time I get stuck or have any questions while working through my Google UX course, I immediately think "I wonder if Aliena has a video on this?", and I am NEVER disappointed! Thank you again for all that you do✨
Hey I just got into the world of ui ux designing. I have no idea what to do,where to start or literally anything. Please guide me. Should I take a course?? From where should I start learning??
Great video! thank you.
learnt so much from this compared to multiple courses
Thank you!
Glad I came across this, danke 💛
Bitte~
As a student who is going to study UX/UI in 2024, your advice was so helpful and gave me a motivation!! Thank you so much, I really like your advice☺☺
Thank you so much for letting me know 🙌
Wow really great video! I'm a UX/Product Designer with 3 years of experience and I found your advice so valuable. I love that it's very specific with tangible examples of how to exercise these skills and what success looks like to have mastered them. I can tell you're a great designer based on how clearly & concisely you communicated all of this!
So happy to hear that from a fellow senior designer ✨
