Might be my favorite Roth era song. Dave with one his best vocals(didn't even do his scream).and Edward just killed that rhythm guitar. Back up harmonies from Mike and Ed are spot on, and Alex just percussed the sin out of it
Too many covers on Diver Down. That was the beginning of the end of the Roth Era. Dave and producer Ted Templeman got on this fixation of covers and the rest of the band was growing and didn't need covers to sell albums or get air time.
@jasonfournet180 gimme all Sammy all day.if I had to choose. Dave was the right guy for the early growth of the band, certainly. But the band grew up and he remained a teenager. The knock about the Sammy era was that it wasn't as edgy..I would tell anyone to go back and listen to those albums again. There is just as much, if not more, hard screaming guitar solos. What changed was Edward utilizing keys instead of him playing as much rhythm guitar. I would have loved to have sèen Sammy pick up some of the rhythms instead of some of the keys,but I am quite satisfied with what they turned into before VHIII

I was a teenager during the Dave years and I guess that has a lot to do with it. It was just fun and nasty rock and roll. There weren't any ballads on those Dave records. That's for sure.
Eddie is doing that intro on one guitar. Strumming fast on the high string and just fingering and pulling off on the lower string

Seems whenever I say a song is perfection, it turns out to be a VH song. This is one of my absolute favorites. Everything about this song is gold.

Yeah, there was a lot of covers. I thought they sounded so good though. (I'll take covers over most of the Sammy stuff.)
