When I told my mom that I was Pansexual, I first asked her if she was homophobic. She was like "No, Of course not" than I was just going to leave then she kept asking me why I asked her that question then I told her. At first, she didn't know what it meant but when I explained she was okay with it. I still didn't tell my step dad because he is a judgmental, rude, person but one day I will. Thank you Kevin, you will forever be my inspiration.

I came out to my parents when I was 13 years old. I'm from Belgium and there used to be a programme called "out of the closet" which I often watched with my sister. My parents were like, if you've got anything to say, you can always tell us, so they were kind of pushing me to come out. A few months later I came out and they told me that it dodn't come as a surprise. My mom told me that she was lucky because she said gay guys are often cute as hell so she has something nice to look at as well if I would bring home my boyfriend. Later she asked me if I wanted to wear make up since one of her colleagues has a son who's gay as well and he wears make up and another one has a transfender daughter. I told her I didn't feel like wearing make up. I was 14 and I came out completely on New Year and I haven't got any negative reactions so I gues I'm a lucky person. Love your channel, greetjngs from Belgium 🇧🇪💅💜

(Sorry for late reply, been HELLA busy with school) Well, of course it started with "Don't you mean boyfriend" and "That's not funny, Diamond." So once they realized I was serious they demanded to know who (I have since broken up with said person) and at the time it was my best friend. They said I was to have nothing else to do with her and that it was her fault I'm "This way." She and I continued to date for about a year and a half afterwards

I know nobody really cares I’m just sharing my experience 🙂

My mom's really nice and my dad probably won't care but I hate speaking up, at P.E. my friend had to tell the teacher I had a twisted ankle because I'm really scared of rejection as in I can't explain how scared I am and nobody knows I have depression and I'm pansexual and the cause of that will lower self-esteem even more than it already is and the only friend that knows I'm pan and have depression is my BFF that lives in a state I used to live in and we were friends since 2nd or 3rd grade and my sister knows I'm pan and have depression and I'm scared my mom will react that way and she's very religious and some people on the bus knows I'm pan and I'm scared and I have anxiety, my life is a big mess over all and I'm pretty sure my mom thinks I'm straight

I was afraid to tell my mom that I was demisexual, because she expressed that she didn't really support gays. Then I had a girl ask me out, now I'm only fifteen and I don't feel comfortable dating yet. But I was freaking out because this girl that asked me out was dating one of my close friends, my mom heard me freaking out and she asked if I was okay. I told her what happened and she just looked at me and said, "you aren't dating a girl." I responded saying that I could date a girl if I had a connection with them emotionally. She left the room I was in and I cried. Then later she called me in to her room and we talked, she said that she'd love me and support me with everything I do.

I know that this is late to comment on but I loved this video, I remember when I was coming out to my parents; i was fairly young but old enough to have my identity. I was struggling with what identity i go with, how i feel, all that jazz, my mom was the most supportive human being I have ever had in my life. Unofortunately I lost that huge light in my life but my dad is a little more conservative however - he has been my support after a while. Time does get better, especially when they have questions - you can help them understand about it a little more.

Oh my god, I totally relate to the part about your parents being clueless. Literally so many people knew I was a lesbian and I didn’t even tell them, yet still my parents were somehow clueless.
I wear masculine clothing, I have a short haircut, I always used “future spouse” instead of husband, I always purposely showed more interest in girls when around my parents, and I even openly shared how I don’t want to marry a man! Yet still, when I came out a few days ago they were shocked. Luckily they’re accepting, so it’s all good.

Love your personality! Glad your parents came around to accept you! :)
What about your sister? Did she always know? My brother is gay and when we were growing up I suspected it, but he didn't tell me until we were in high school. And TBH, it hurt that he confided in other people before me.

I was more “Boyish” then both my brothers and hated most “girly” things. My friends genders were pretty even but I was friends with only boys for three years. Whenever we were forced to dress up I explained over and over how much I HATED dresses and would much rather wear a suit like my brothers. And I never really smiled for pictures because I was uncomfortable with what I was being forced to wear. Although when I “came out” as non-binary my mom said “You couldn’t even give us a hint before hand?” I was also told that it was probably a phase and that I wasn’t allowed to tell my siblings because “they’re too young”. That’s one thing I really don’t understand, I mean I should be able to them because it’s part of who I am. Eventually I told my siblings anyway and they all made fun of me and purposely shoved she/her pronouns at me and tubed it in my face afterwards. My siblings finally started accepting me and they all started using they then pronouns like I asked them to. My parents still aren’t accepting even though my mom claims to be trying. When I cut my hair I was screamed at for over an hour because “it looked bad” and “it will look weird when you try to grow it back out” and all that crap. But this is the longest two year “phase” I’ve even had. Then again I’m not really sure what I was expecting to get as a reaction because I was confused being called out for every tiny little flaw. And I guess that’s how I got my self esteem issues... Anyway I have no idea where I was going with this. But it’s getting late so I should probably start trying to go to sleep. I might actually get to sleep before 3am tonight.
A teacher actually e-mailed my mom and I never even told the specific teacher.
    Have a great day!
Did you really read all this?
Why are you still reading? Just scroll down to the next comment. I can promise you it’s more interesting than this. Are you still reading?
    Really?
    Your still here?
    Fine I’m ending this.
    HA. You can’t read anymore.

    • @phant0m0th_
      @phant0m0th_ 8 лет назад +9

No I think parents want their children to be straight. I wonder if my mom has suspicions though...
When I was in middle school, my mom used to talk about how hot guy's butts and bodies were. But for me I never understood what was so good about it. Or any of it TBH. Ive never really wanted to date boys. But I tried because I thought that's what I had to do.
Update: I believe some parents don't want their children to deal with hate towards the LGBT community or genuinely don't want them to come out. Regardless it's a shitty thing to do. When your child comes to confide in you, be respectful of their thoughts and opinions because they're people too.

I feel like whenever I had a crush on a guy it creeped up on me. The only two instances when I had crushes on girls, they were my friends and it literally jumped me from behind my back like I was hit by a truck XD
I’m also kinda scared of this one possibility of if I ever get with a girl my parents might be fine with it but idk if my older relatives would hate my parents because they did something wrong. It’s not my parents fault I like guys and girls sometimes, if you have a problem with it you gotta go through me first! XP

my coming out story was a little like this: when i came out my mother, she did’nt believe me and said it was just a phase and it felt like i was’nt free for a long time. I was 12 at that time and that was one of the worst times of my life, not feeling free.

Everyone in my household kind of knew but just didn't want to believe it, and I didn't know they thought of me that way until I came out. I came out a long while ago but I'm pretty sure they've forgotten all about it by now or at least like to act as if it was just a "phase" and I'd get over it? I just can't find the right person yet,, who needs a relationship when you have a cat anyways. 😻

I'm in a kind of same situations now, I told my mom that I was gay and liked heels and makeup in October last year and the following days were reeeally awkward. She also said about the same things as your mom - that it's weird and that I should be boy-like etc. Now she kinda acts like she doesn't now, and it doesn't bother me much because I know she knows.
I also know exactly what I want to do when I move out (heels and makeup duhh), so she simply has to accept it then (because now she forbids me buying heels etc., she apparently excepts me to magically become straight or something lol). And because I know that, I can wait until I move out

I’m so glad that I have parents who would love me no matter what. I am straight, but if I wasn’t they would love me and treat me the same as they did before. My coming out Story would literally be me sitting down with my parents and telling them I’m gay, and my Mom would be like what would you like for dinner tonight?!
My brother might ask questions. He has a friend who is gay, so I don’t really think he would care too much.
I know most people wouldn’t have the same results, but I do hope that you find happiness and safety no matter what the results are.
