- Welcome to the Electric Truck Showdown!! A race of all the Electric Trucks you can buy today, from Florida to California (Coast to Coast) to find out which Truck reigns supreme!
The four contenders are the Tesla Cybertruck, Chevy Silverado EV, Rivian R1T and Ford F-150 Lightning. All four trucks have their own pros and cons, and offer something unique which will help us all find out what qualities of a truck are the most important on a cross country race. Is it the largest battery possible? Is it the most efficient design? Or is it access to the best DC Fast Charging network in North America (Tesla Supercharger)?
This roughly 2,500 mile race kicks off at Jacksonville Beach and ends at Dog Beach in San Diego. Over the course of 2 days, these 4 trucks are put to their paces to find out which one will arrive first. Teams of 3-4 take the helm to navigate their respective EV Truck to the finish line, facing unknown challenges along the way.
Rules of the race are simple and fair. No one can exceed more than 10 MPH over the speed limit. In addition, the top speed no matter the speed limit is 85 MPH. That means that the race will require charging strategy and efficiency in travel, rather than driving as fast as possible.
Who will win? Who will lose? Whether you are Team Tesla, Team Chevy, Team Rivian or Team Ford, I sincerely hope you enjoy the excitement of this race and look forward to sharing the full experience from the perspective of the Silverado EV.

Nah, with a Bolt though, try to limit your distance to just one charge. Only 50 kW charge rate is tough for road trips

It is just a bit sad that everybody assumes the CT will come out last. I think the Lightning is too slow in charging ao he will belast but CT cannot imho beat the Silverado and Rivian.

What is your w/hr per mile?
This is what Tesla understood from the start. Make all the chargers the same power. Most drivers are totally clueless of their vehicles capabilities. That's why we see so many Bolts with their 55kw max speeds taking up 350kw chargers with open 150kw right next to them.
That Mach-E had no business charging on that 350kw, unless the 150kw were not working. Which, with EA's unreliability, is also a good possibility.

@@gregpochet4812 Correct. That's why Tesla also understood from the start to build as many stalls as the space provided by the site allowed. EA's average is 4 or less, while EVgo usually installs 1 or 2 stalls. Yet 98% of Tesla's stations have a minimum of 8 stalls, while many have 12, 16, 20, 24, and many are over 40 stalls. With a few now having over a 100 stalls either built and working on are in the works.
It was charging fine until the Bolt showed up and plugged in. Hmmm. Hope Tesla's watching.

I don't understand what you are saying around the 24:00 minute. You point to the MachE and state your bribed them to give you the 350kw, but now they can't charge because they "don't have their keys and can't reach the charger" Please explain..
My assumption was the person with the key was in Walmart, but ya he didn't clarify.

You will win with a larger battery if you use the advantage of that it will eliminate one or 2 stops. Quick stops don't win the game with a larger battery not being used to your advantage
