Not just because I am Italian, but being Italian and sixty years of age and growing up with the greats, it was easy to fall in love and admire their beliefs. Why did people think my family was nuts because we had friends of all colors and religions staying overnight when we were kids. My dad, who passed away last year at eighty, always taught me and my three brothers and sister, you never make fun of anyone because they are short, skinny, heavy, black, white, Catholic, Jewish, etc..., your true friends come in all shapes and sizes and colors. Miss you like crazy dad. Love always, Billy
Fellow Italian here. My dad raised us the same way. He was so against ethnic slurs toward Italians, and he was equally against any racial or ethnic slur against any group of people. We grew up to be accepting and tolerant.
@blu48 wow you're so wonderful...you're morally superior to the rest of us who rib each other
@@Charlimartelihahaha right what heaven did they drop down from
You're not remotely Italian and neither was Sinatra.
Thank you and blu48 for these thoughts. Always sad to read the responses of the poorly raised, 'bless their hearts'. My parents, Scottish/English and Italian/Irish raised us to feel the same way. For all their faults, and despite all their other failures, their anti-racist, pro-equality feelings always came through. Maybe it's partly because of all the stuff they went through themselves, especially through the war. Missing both my parents too.
Big Ray Liotta fan here and this doesn’t disappoint!! Rest in perfect peace brother
I never had much interest in the rat pack, although I like Dean Martin, and I never heard of this movie, but when I saw it starred Ray Liotta, I had to see it.
He was one of the best under-appreciated actors in Hollywood, who could make even a mediocre film worth seeing.
Am one too..he better be resting peacefully
🙏🕊️🙏
💯💯🙏🙏🎬🎬🌹🌹
❤🙏🙏🙏
Let's face it, Ray Liotta was one of the greats. Should have received more honours when he was around. RIP Ray!
I completely agree. Ray Liotta was one of a kind.
True..l agree
I first noticed him on the soap opera ANOTHER WORLD…..certainly blossomed
Ray- the only one who could've played this role and boy did he- rip Ray we love you- most of us won't be in a hundred years but you will.
Hope he is 1 of those that that are in the GONE WITH THE WIND program!!!
❤ RAY!!!
I was born in 1985, I envy those who lived throughout the 50s, 60s and 70s, they experienced a time, moments I love where music was real, people were authentic and times were good… plus they experienced the greats in movies and music ..unlike todays garbage.. Rest in Peace to them all…
My first born was in 1985 and he loves all the music I love because I raised him around it all his life.
I got to hear all that Music and Watch all of those Variety Shows with the Rat Pack in the 80s. The 80s was Dedicated to this Era at least on TV, Shows and Movies.
Amen! Born in 69 and was lucky to catch the end. Ok...the 70s...huge lapels, leisure suits and Disco. It got a bit funky. Glad it was my early childhood. But the big 80s. Wild times. Actually, my teen years were some of the hardest but damn...do I miss them. It was that magical time where we were casting off the ugly stuff like racism and other ugliness. You saw times were changing. But, people still had enough of the older values like strength and not crying over ever little thing. America was coming back and had some pride again. We had hope! Two major events, the hostages freed in Iran and believe it or not, Team USA winning goal in the 80 Olympics. That..was massive. It reminded us thatm if we stick together we can do anything. Oh..we still had some hard times for sure. But, the worm had turn. We had a President that spoke of hope and loved America. Our politicians were still crooks....but they weren't bat crap crazy. Reagan and Tip O'Neal, dem speaker of the house, had movie night or lunch just about weekly. They may have talked a bit of shop but then...it was just two men hanging out and being men. It was a better time.
Oh...and the music! I feel so bad for kids these days. Saw Van Halen, and most bands for $12!!!! General admission and it was some great band every month. Especially summer time! It was.... amazing! Now.... you pay what....few hundred to watch lip syncing and dancing? You've been robbed!
When we had problems....we leaned on our friends and self medicated. We didn't take pills that made us shoot up schools and we didn't get on social media to see what the outrage of de jour was so we could hurry and change our profile pic or bio!!! We certainly didn't give a damn about what some anonymous stranger thought and we didn't try and impress them with what we thought. We worked hard and played harder and still believe there was an American dream.
That's all gone now. Our leaders only protect their own power and wealth and the wealth of the elite ruling class! We are a nation of whining cowards!
I’m still here.
Yeah but now we’re just learning the truth about some of those people.., like John F Kennedy’s death was a mafia hit. Kennedy=Mafia
Want more truth?
Check out Dr. Shiva, inventor of email and presidential candidate who’s being CENSORED. I’m 59, born in 64, and I never remember that happening to anyone. He’s started a global movement Truthfreedomhealth and we’re being censored too. I just got a message this morning in my PICTURES, a ‘screenshot’ of my recent texts and one from The DonTrump saying “ I hacked your computer and installed a back…’ I assume a backdoor portal like the ones Dr. Shiva discovered that the government has had all along into social media. Now the government may even censor you on social media. WTF happened to freedom of speech?? Oh yeah, trump took care of that with CISA in 2018. If young people don’t wake the fuck up and start standing up and speaking out against the corruption, they won’t have any rights at all. Get involved. I can’t write dot com. Figure it out Truthfreedomhealth
Back when an insult was a joke, and people laughed. I miss those days. Mine were the 70s-80s
Me Too!
Sadly, the free zone just for laughters has been erased , the magical place that gave birth to the Monty Pytons movies and movies like Blazing Saddles is no more .
Me too …now it’s turned onto commieville on steroids
Only white ppl miss those days IJS as you can see his wife was offened.
Same Here
RIP The Rat Pack and Ray Lolita .... you certainly made your mark
That's Liotta,...but your good.
Fk the ratpack! Hope Liotta is ok.
Missing ray and many others that are no longer here😢
I love the fact that Sammy isn't looked at as an Uncle Tom we look at him as a trailblazer. Sammy went though it so others didn't have to. It had to be so hard to be him. Mad love and respect goes out to that brotha.
But technically he would be the Uncle Tom Uncle Tom was the hero
Sammy was the most talented of the pack. The G.O.A.T.
@@andrejamison2723 Uncle Tom has been a Derogatory term for over a Century so no he would not be.
Sammy was an extraordinarily talented man, utterly amazing. I was blessed to have seen him perform live once, in 1988, in The Ultimate Event with Frank Sinatra and Liza. WOW, Sammy blew us all away!! If you have not heard him sing this song, do yourself a favor and look for it on RUclips, "The Music of the Night." I promise that you will get goosebumps! ❤
@@TheBrownIsland please read the book.
so miss Ray Liotta--one of my all time favs
Ray Liotta was the best. Rest in Piece
I hope you meant Peace. 😃
I watched this on HBO when it came out and always loved it. Thanks for downloading it on here! I had it on DVD too.
Ray Liotta was a wonderful actor. May he Rest In Peace. 🙏🙏
Back when HBO made good original movies.
And Ray Liotta does a great Sinatra
I just ran across it when it originally premiered on HBO. I didn't know anything about it being made. I was pleasantly surprised by it being well done and entertaining. There were several HBO films in that era that were great, The Bettie Page and George Wallace bios come to mind along with this one. It seems it's almost illegal for LMN, the Nets, HBO, etc. to make a decent made for tv movie these days.
Lots of good made for HBO films.
This is the one that explains Dean Martin WASN'T a drunk, ran around, it was all an act, called his wife every night.
Don Cheadle is pretty amazing as Sammy Davis, Jr, too
Momo, is Sam Giancana, btw
@@martyconroy3786 Yeah, the name ‘Momo’ Giancana was the last of many hints!
Ray Liotta was the man. I can't remember a bad movie of his.
He was a good actor gone way to soon
Nah, I wanta hear Frank sing Chicago again I love the way he does that. 👍
Awesome movie, with one of the best actors ever. R.I.P. Ray Liotta.
I never knew about this! One legend playing another! Thanks for sharing this movie with us!
Back When HBO Play a New Movie,Every Saturday Night, I Miss The 90s & Love The Ending Of This Great Classic Movie 😊
Dean Martin was 100% right at the time, and nobody heard him. Yesterday is Today.
And Today is Tomorrow.
All of them had incredible egos! It makes you question what came first the narcissism or the fame & fortune?
Sammy was so talented nobody could stand next to him. Truth❤
Trump has the same affliction.
Yes, I miss Sammy Davis Jr the most.
The movie came out the same year Frank died. Of all the 'Rat Pack' only Joey Bishop was still alive when HBO aired this, and one wonders what he may have thought of it. As for me, I thought it was great, and I think that as impossible as it may be to fully capture the essence of any well-known superstar, they did about as good as anybody could've done with this film's casting. They used voice-over dubs for Frank's singing, which is almost obvious since Ray Liotta's speaking voice doesn't sound like Frank's speaking voice at all -- yet Ray's a great actor who embodies the essence of Sinatra in his mannerisms, I think. He comes across as intimidating when he needs to be, Sinatra having been rather volatile at times.
One thing that is a bit anachronistic, though, at 13:35, is when they depict Sinatra's Palm Springs pool having the Queen of Diamonds artwork depicted in it before JFK gets elected. THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE was released in 1962, some 2 years in to Kennedy's Presidency, so Frank would not have had that iconic image from the film decorating his pool prior to the election.
My GOD what a GREAT MOVIE, and I've only just begun watching this, so I know that it can only get better, so Thank You Kindly for this Devine Work Of Art Movie !!!!!!
I LOVE IT !!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I fell for Ray big time in Something Wild. Man he was hot! Overlooked so many times,Hello Goodfellas. He’s was even n an episode of Young Sheldon. Miss those eyes. Rest peacefully Ray.
He was a great actor still can't believe he's gone
Invisible threads finely woven
Excellent cast and all and all
Just some extra credit for Angus, too, playing Lawford. Great acting to portray someone of middling talent.
Props to Cheadle - next level love for SDJ. (And the pistol skills.) 🌟
Lawford may have been a middling actor, but he was great at Password.
Perfect Dean Martin
the rat pack had a lot of power, esp in Vegas. A lot of talent in that group.
The Joe Kennedy actor is spot on. Joe laid down the law to Frank.
A great movie of a wonderful time when the music was fantastic. I wish I could have seen the rat pack perform but I’m not of that age group. All people including Frank Sinatra, Ray Liotta and the other actors, Sammy Davis Junior, Marilyn, Dean Martin, JFK, Bobby Kennedy and all the rest are sadly missed. RIP
This is like when you are sick and having one of those boring but painful dreams that you can’t escape
That's an interesting observation
@@jimisi7424 Amen. There's something about it that rings true.
do u mean the film quality?
Thanks for posting this very well-done movie!
Great movie ,awesome cast. A true classic.
Marylin: "Death of a Mailman" haha too much!
The book " Double Crossed" gives you even better insight as to how badly/hard Sam Giancana took the news of Bobby Kennedy becoming the US Attorney General. Sam personally felt that without his (The Mafia) assistance in the state of Illinois, John Kennedy may not have won the 1960 election. It's a "must-read", highly recommended publication.
I heard. Kennedys even are traitors to their own blood ( Kennedys endorsing Biden and giving Bobby Jr the old birdie)
Thanks!
Dean Martin....classic. BTW....in his glass....apple juice! Yup, he was that smooth...that good.
One of my most favorite Ray Liotta movies.
Movies from 70s to the 90s were the best. Love this movie. Love historical dramas. ❤❤❤
😂 that isn’t so long ago.
Historical drama...seriously 😅
Don was AWESOME as Sammy
Wow...great movie! Thanks for sharing!
This is my favorite movie of all time especially with ray liotta in it he is so handsome and very talented
FUCKING KENNEDYS!😆
Yes those boys certainly liked the ladies
I'd hate to believe that Peter Lawford was this craven in real life. I can believe that RFK was ruthless and unlikable. I'm glad that Dino comes off so well.
Loved Ray Liotta! Any movie he was in I watched. This whole cast was great. Don Cheadle another wonderful Actor. Joe Mantegna another great actor. This was a good movie. Probably true to form unfortunately. When Bobby Kennedy got in a double crossed the mafiosos then it was a matter of time for curtains.
I wonder how good this movie would have been had they used unknown actors who do the best imitations of those guys?
Not as good unless the Unknowns were very Talented.
Awesome movie thank you for posting it
THIS GUY SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SINGER😊
ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT ❤
What a great cast and great movie ! Sinatra live his life to the fullest !!
I wonder how many people know that Sinatra had perfect pitch. Wasn't a fan but had respect for him.
I thought everyone played their parts well. Thank you, good flick.
Its a wonderful cast.
🎭Fantastic casting Kudos!!!...👏👏👏👏...
A favorite Sinatra movie of mine. I thought Liotta did a very good job of capturing Sinatra.
Damn Ray Liotta nailed that role and Don Cheadle was brilliant .Shout out to the actress playing Ava Gardner I thought it was her in real life. Cool movie.
Lifetime Network presents *"Rat Pack".*
Check that - it was actually *"Hallmark".*
Back when movies were worth watching
¡ PLEASE RUclips! TRANSLATE THIS PICTURE TO SPANISH LANGUAGE. I LOVE SINATRA AND I
LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE CARACTERS SPEAK. I SPEAK IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE SO, SO.
I LOST THE PRINCIPAL IDEA.

Great film! Have enjoyed this since it first came out. Wish there was an HD version of it online.
Antonio Paris,.. love this movie back in 98 when it came out!.. I'm your 870 member....
Why so many Jim Jones Sermons ?!
- This was such a good movie 👍🏼❤️🎥
Gotta love that orange sweater.
This film doesn't get recognized enough.
I remember the first time seeing this the summer of 1998.
Peaceful Repose to late great Ray Liotta who died on May 26, one day before and many decades after his look alike: the late, great Jeffrey Hunter, who died 55 years ago today. Let ✨🕯️🤍🕊️🌿😇😇🙌 light perpetual shine upon both Ray and Jeffrey/ RIP. ✝️🛐💟💜💐🌷🌹💖❤️🌲💚🙏💙💛🤍 Love Always from a huge fan of both gentlemen.😍😻🤩❣️💌
Well done and some-interesting insight. Looking forward to the new one. Although, not sure if Leonardo DiCaprio is the best choice.
Leonardo as Sinatra? I think Michael Keaton would be a good Frank Sinatra 😊😊
@@leighwhiteman818 Interesting choice..but someone who can actually sing, like Harry Connick Jr might be better????
Amazing movie...Liotta was amazing as Francis Albert...Mantegna as Dean fantastic...not much has changed in the world accept there is no longer integrity & empathy. 👍☘️🖤💛😎We still love the cool cats.
Don Cheadle as always, knocks it out of the park.
Sammy was soooooo good
Ray nailed Frank,RIP
Of course, agree with most of the comments, also I loved Ray Liotta but I would NEVER think of him in a role playing Sinatra. I guess the Goodfellas branded him and as usual in Hollywood if the actor is known globally popular and hot at the moment they put him in a movie of a similar distinguished roles or worlds, in this case, mafia and crime. It sells good.
I learned so much. It's crazy because i just watched JFK yesterday. So im exploding mentally right now
Thankyou x looking forward to this xx
Musicians are Magnificent!
Ava’s gardener. lol
Love Ray Liotta! Loved un Corina Corina & Operation Dumbo Drop He was great in Cop Kand, John Q, as well ❤️🩹
Sammy Davis Jr. was a class act. Yes, the Chairman stood up for him but, he took a lot of shit as well. Couldn't have been easy. Class act and arguably, the most talented of the lot. I really wish some people today, especially the ones that are so infected with politics and ideology...would remember when people like Sammy went through then...so they would have the chances the do now. They have no clue what being offended or oppressed is!!! Sammy took a thousand paper cuts and they shame his memory and sacrifice! Its disgusting and cruel!
Joe Mantegna as Dean Martin. Wasn't sure at first but ...better than I expected.
Well, I must have been working, raising a family and playing hockey. Totally missed this one. Glad I found it.
I love the rat pack but Sammy was the most talented. Guy could do it all. dance, comedy with perfect inpersonations, and sing the best.
Sammy was definitely the most talented but Frank had the image , the star power and Dean was actually the best singer ! Sammy was super talented as a singer , musician, drummer, gave great impressions but didn’t need to because most came just to see him sing and dance . Very gifted artist . Whereas he loved Frank, he told his wife Altovise that Elvis Presley was the greatest entertainer ever. They were great friends as Sammy frequently attended his concerts in Vegas . When Elvis returned from the army and appeared on Frank Sinatras tv special, the nbc executives treated Elvis like white trash and Sammy felt a kinship because he had known that same treatment. That appearance connected them for life !
I miss my guy's he should of said i miss my friends i know how he feels
I wish Scorses wouldve made that Dean Martin bio-pic
*Scorsese
@@bethewalt7385 Thanks K.
Dean Martin never drank alcohol, he was just pretending.
This is a five-bagger for sure, I rate it 5 bags of popcorn, and a large coke, because it’s cool and sweet, just like the Rat Pack
THE RULES APPLY, FRANK !
This movie is really good!!! Watch it and enjoy it!! Curl up on the couch with buttered popcorn and a soda!! Have fun!!❤❤❤
I love how the camera shoots downwards at Don Cheadle (Sammy) to make him look shorter, lol. 🎥 Sacramento, California USA 🇺🇸 05/29/2024

I thought it was Ray singing the opening song. Didn't sound like Sinatra to me, so you're not the only one. :o)
