Why wouldn’t it be? Simp is actually short for simpleton. A lack of cunning so one is easily deceived or taken advantage of. This evolved into mostly used as a slur against men who willingly let women take advantage of them. But simpleton has always been a derogatory term for dumb people. Personally I prefer when simp had a more general context and use for any kind of slow witted person like it’s used here. Hell naw I’m not falling for that I’m not a SIMPleton.

Yes, but you can't just look at the last men standing. Nearly all members of organized crime eventually (usually sooner than later) meet an untimely end: either the grave or prison. A few get to live the high life for a while, a few years if they're lucky. The primary problem is that most people willing and/or fit to be criminals aren't very smart, talk too much, are not in control of their emotions, drink/drug too much, show their hands too readily, trust the wrong people, and in general, have terrible judgment. These caliber of criminals make up the bulk of any criminal organization, from top to bottom......

@@richardsheffield2823 we agree that Luciano's portrayal on BE is more colorful than perhaps his RL image. 👍 I feel the show did what it could in expressing how young men like Luciano and Lansky were during their tutelage under Rothstein, often showing them as misguided punks. Certainly the character of Bennie Siegal was annoying to watch with his extremely immature behavior. For a man thought to be the creator of Las Vegas including multiple liaisons with Hollywood elites during the 1940's, you would think Siegal would be shown as having more maturity 🤷‍♂️

Meyer Lansky wasnt somw nebish Stero type Jew. He was a straight up gangster when he was younger. He also was intelligent and had a mind for making money. If you ever hear interviews if him in TV in the later years, he sounded NOTHING like that. He had a gravely voice and was probably very intimidating when he needed to be. Especially with Benny Segal behind him.
