I knew she had the ability to change her appearance and create physical illusions through her Semblance (Overactive Imagination), but I never knew she could swap her natural heterochrome eyes back and forth.
It happend all the time. Right before she fought Yang, they even swapped color right in front of us when she blinked. From what we also see, they turn white when she's afraid, otherwise I think it's just what she wants them to look like.

See, this is what makes Neo and Cinder terrifying as hell. They have skill. They know how to fight instead of just relying on cheap tricks and techniques. Sure, Cinder has her Maiden powers and Neo has illusions but more often than not, we see them not using it and instead just showing their mastery of combat.
Cinder doesn't show skill more then a pair of times. Usually shw is a worthless "haha-magic". Remember her fight against Penny? She sucks. Basically everywhere.

When your semblance is litterally imagining things which then become illusions until broken, maybe she keeps forgetting which eye is which color, so when she thinks about it it becomes that way until she knuckes her eyes or something.
I've always loved RWBY for a lot of reasons, but I've always been interested in martial arts styles and Neo in particular. The way she fights is _amazing_ really, it's almost like dancing or gymnastics where its far more about your balance than your attacks, but also in the same vein as aikido where its not as offensive of a fighting style. I really wanna study and learn to fight like this honestly
That's the thing. Pretty much none of that is actually useful. 90% of the time in a fight, Neo is very clearly off-balance, and if she ever goes up against someone as fast as her she's gonna get dusted. In an actual fight, misdericting the other person's blows is definitely useful (straight up blocking is little use in fistfights, my area of expertise) and so is swaying to dodge or occasionally strafing to one side or another, but you want your feet planted, you want to know where your fists are. That's not saying it isn't good to move, and to keep moving, but most of Neo is just overkill.
One question, did Rooster Teeth just decide to quit our Roman candle ( picked this up from another commenter and is now gonna be new favorite nickname for Roman 🤣 ) ever since he got swallowed whole by a Grimm, you'd think he'd break free as the flesh is quite soft on the inside. Not just quit fighting all together. Another point is, you'd think we'd hear about him again as his name is quite popular among criminals. WHERE THE FLIP IS HE!?!? I'm starting to miss him. 😢
If I were to guess I would say Roman Torchwick. He has ungodly speed for parrying and dodging, but is really too big to be the dodging master. Where as Neo is small enough to be how she is.
@@cqbjones4861 They do mention there are pre-academy combat schools, its also possible she learned at one of those and just honed her skills fighting grim much in the same way the main characters did. Shes just has 4-8 years on the main characters in age
She was partially trained in an all girls school in vale and upon finding Roman began to learn all of her criminal tricks (lockpicking, car jacking, etc…) along with more advanced combat
Roman and neo are my favorite characters in the entire series They are exactly what they seem and are badass at doing it I stopped watching after Roman fought on the carrier and just pretty much left the fandom but for fanfiction
To think, Neo could have very easily killed Cinder right then and there during the bar fight. Right at the end of the video, when she cracks Cinder in the face with the end of her parasol, all it would have taken would have been using the other end and popping out the blade to stab Cindy in the face and kill her on the spot.
