Most home cooks: "Processed foods are bad" Professional chefs: "Hot dogs rule! Let's meat-glue them into a mass then sculpt a turkey leg and deep fry it!"
lol right? because food is just a creative medium in this case, they are not cooking their daily meals, they are trying to make something amazing and interesting out of their artistic medium - food!
I’m freaking happy they’re back!!!! Their dynamic is insane- seeing them plan is watching two culinary geniuses collaborate and seeing them in action is watching a power couple dance on the kitchen. It’s well orchestrated!!!! 😭😭😭
The chili dog lasagna blew my mind. I wonder if instead of lasagna sheets if you took long planks of potato and fried those you could get a french fry element in there too?
Oohhhh. That sounds delicious. Get some poutine and or loaded potato vibes But also, my in initial thought when they said hotdog lasagna was that they'd cut the hotdogs into thin long slices and layer that and bake it (no lasagna noodles involved)
It's such a rollercoaster ride when the final tasting comes around! Seeing them pleasantly surprised is nice -- but her stunned horror over the dessert was great to see and I enjoy how she was able to put it in words. I want the lasagna hot dog!
@@kalei49 well the new season there were some guest chefs that sort of had fun with the format, which i think is exactly what they would do if they were ever invited!
It must be for a charity episode or something, because that show usually only feature chefs who work at a restaurant, or are chef owners, so the chefs can subtly promote their restaurants. Sohla and Ham don't currently have a restaurant, do they?
It's been a really rough summer, but Sohla and Ham made me chortle and guffaw for twenty minutes straight. Thanks, NYT Cooking. I needed this. More please, as soon as possible.
You don’t understand how much I love this series. I only found out about it today and I went straight into binge-mode. Straight away, no waiting, no breaks (well, there was a pee break) MOAR PLEEEEEASE!!!!!
Ham saying "Hot dogs are a magic, magic food that makes life better" is really what sets the tone for the rest of this video. That's a mantra I should live by.
I have missed the sheer glee of Solha's laugh. Please say this will kick off another series... (and I would be interested in Clementine's take on hot dog toffee).
i'm so glad to see them back. and with the most versatile of the more inexpensive foods. fried rice with chopped up slices of hot dog is such a simple quick classic. also, considering they did korean food with the oreos, i'm surprised neither of them thought to do a budae jjigae.
Ohhhhh, they're married! So cute they cook together. Living for the deep insights in the intro. I think thats whats so beautiful about cooking is that you are home and time stops while youre in the rapture of culinary creation. Things can be going wrong outside, but inside the cooking and sharing what we make brings purpose and safety. Words are bad at describing what I'm trying to say but you get the gist
Sohla and Ham need to have their own RUclips channel/cooking show. Terrific collaboration, diversity in food choices and great humor. What's not to like? Hot dog lasagna...I may have to actually try that... 😁
Being super poor I used to sub hot dogs as a protein for a lot of meals, back when they were super cheap. It was weird hearing someone asked if they had ever diced hotdogs and hearing them only have one instance of doing so. Even as a chef they were presumably once students! Hotdogs are great in a stir-fry. Cut them as coins and quick fry them in a bit of sou sauce and whatever else you have on hand, oyster sauce, BBQ sauce or even ketchup will give them a great caramelized flavor and completely transform the taste, add the rest of your rice and stuff and you got a quick easy meal!
This never would've happened with bratwurst. 😔 But seriously so happy to watch Sohla and Ham tackle all manner of culinary creations! There is no such thing as failure!
In my family, we used to eat sauerkraut with hot dogs. Sauté bacon lardons, add chopped onion, then rinsed and well-drained sauerkraut. Cook for a while then add the dogs. Serve with mashed potatoes. German family.
Give them more time! It would be great to see there awesome ideas fully realised instead and not cut, they are so amazing and I want to see what they can do!
Love them 💕 the brainstorming at the start is like.... "I understand why they're married. This is so cute."
I love seeing them organize the chaos they come up with
I love watching them work as a team
Yes!
I want them to adopt me. And feed me, obviously. They're making another Orphan movie somehow for some reason, so anything's possible.
Most home cooks: "Processed foods are bad"
Professional chefs: "Hot dogs rule! Let's meat-glue them into a mass then sculpt a turkey leg and deep fry it!"
To be fair they never said it would be good for you just that it would be good to eat
lol right? because food is just a creative medium in this case, they are not cooking their daily meals, they are trying to make something amazing and interesting out of their artistic medium - food!
The CM Punk and MJF shirt had me rolling! Lol
This feels like a whole family reunion because I missed you guys!
I’m freaking happy they’re back!!!! Their dynamic is insane- seeing them plan is watching two culinary geniuses collaborate and seeing them in action is watching a power couple dance on the kitchen. It’s well orchestrated!!!! 😭😭😭
The absolute "what have I done" look when those hot dogs went in the food processor 😂
I forgot they were gonna put the lasagna in the buns, and when they did, I was too stunned to speak. A work of art. Ahead of its time.
I love how they matched each others unhinged energy with the brainstorming.

Genius. French fries and hot dog combined.
that's just skyline chili
Sorta bastardized Mousakka. I love that.
My thought exactly or like a toasted bun. I don't know the whole dish sounded great.
So good! The only thing that is missing is the crews taste test!
Yes! We need to know whether Ham is the only one who liked the hot dog praline.
It's such a rollercoaster ride when the final tasting comes around! Seeing them pleasantly surprised is nice -- but her stunned horror over the dessert was great to see and I enjoy how she was able to put it in words.
I want the lasagna hot dog!
I would have liked to see one of the crew members (or more) trying the dishes, that would have revealed a lot....
It was like a rollercoaster ride... at Coney Island!
Just love the way you two make each other giggle.
Sohla and Ham taught me that marriage is simply a life-long improv scene. Just joyfully "yes and" your partner and you're set :D
This makes me want Sohla and Ham on Iron Chef America, I want them to really go crazy with whatever the secret ingredient is!
would be so good! on the other hand iron chef does take itself pretty seriously so i wonder how they would do in that environment
@@kalei49 well the new season there were some guest chefs that sort of had fun with the format, which i think is exactly what they would do if they were ever invited!

@@DizzyBusy They used to have a restaurant but I heard they were shady owners tbh
@@luchia446 Shady, how?
YAYYYYY I am so happy this awesome duo is back. Nobody in the internet does it better than Sohla and Ham!!
False, me and ur mum do it better
"Why are you laughing?"
"Is she crying?!"
🤣🤣
Love Sohla and Ham so much!!
It's been a really rough summer, but Sohla and Ham made me chortle and guffaw for twenty minutes straight. Thanks, NYT Cooking. I needed this. More please, as soon as possible.
chortle aye?
The commiserating, the laughter, the puzzled horror and ultimately some satisfaction. Loved every minute!
You don’t understand how much I love this series.
I only found out about it today and I went straight into binge-mode.
Straight away, no waiting, no breaks (well, there was a pee break)
MOAR PLEEEEEASE!!!!!
This was such a good welcome back to our favorite chefs and Ham wearing Clementine’s hat was fitting for the chaos to come
Missed these two doing Mystery Menu so much! Happy to have them back.
Ham saying "It smells like sweet dogs 😀" (12:00) has me laughing. I love these two sm!
There are no words to describe how badly we want more Sohla content. Coolest Chef ever
Ham saying "Hot dogs are a magic, magic food that makes life better" is really what sets the tone for the rest of this video. That's a mantra I should live by.
I missed these two! And maybe it’s just me but they both seem more comfortable in front of the camera than ever before in this episode.
ham is KILLING it this episode... i wish to have a love like theirs

They are seriously the best to watch. Just bring so much joy 🥹 I love their banter and vibe.. people you want to chill around a fire pit with.
Glad the show is back!
Yay! So glad Ham and Sohla are back! I love this series!
Solha's face when she tried the dessert made me laugh so hard that I didn't stop until after the video was over.
I love her threatening tone when she's like "You want to make this again? You want to eat this again?"
This was so much better than I expected it to me. I would love to have to do this challenge myself. I will def try some of these ideas!
Yayyy missed this series so much!
Missed Sohla so much!! Glad to have them back on NYC! 💗
Yay for Sohla and Ham! Would have loved to see the crews reactions to these dishes
Just when you think Ham’s t-shirt game can’t get any better, he busts out MJF/CM Punk. Tremendous.
