Obviously it's fun to see Sohla and Ham get stumped and have to rush with their cooking, but wow I really enjoyed just watching them work at their own pace and just make a bunch of solid food here
Same! I like when they get creative with weird flavor combos but for once, it was nice to just watch them do their thing, no rush.
It's a nice mix. I just love seeing them get a home run and make stuff I would love to try myself. There's no way I could get a 5 course meal together in an hour, though!!

Is there a reason they do everything in an hour? That's the only thing I don't like about this series. I would rather just watch them be creative. I watched one recently where they tried to make ice cream and I was really interested to see how it would turn out but of course it ended up just being cold soupy liquid because there wasn't enough time.

The parents energy at the end where they want everyone to eat reminds me of the Christmas episode where I’m 80% sure they designed the menu around feeding the crew a couple thousand dollars of caviar.

Sohla is THE BEST!
Sohla and Ham have a perfect balance of warmth and lightheartedness. Their videos are like comfort food for me. When it's 9:30pm on a Saturday and I have not changed out of my PJs all day and am being a bit too hard on myself for not getting out of the house, this video is a balm. I can't put my finger on why but I'm just grateful for their videos!

this is truly one of my favorite series to watch on youtube. i would die for sohla and ham. i would legit watch the full hour cut of them making these meals because their energy and excitement is so contagious

Tried to recreate the Mac and Cheese - I did two parts pasta and four parts milk with a big pinch of salt, cooked until tender with a lot of stirring to unstick, finish with 3 parts grated cheese. It was nice - very creamy - and the measurements and technique was easy enough that I delegated a lot to my three year old.
I appreciate the growing intensity of Sohla's questions as she asks "how are you feeling about x". 😂
I'd love to see the reaction of the staff tasting Sohla and Ham's creations.

As long as they’re properly paid to appear, rather than exploited as a condition of keeping their off-camera jobs. (The camera operator shenanigans just seemed like two camera operators and the editors messing with each other this one time, but if it became a regular bit, I would hope that the camera person gets fair-minded, negotiated compensation to appear, even if it’s not a speaking role.)
The inconsistent releases of these episodes really plays with my heart. This is my favorite cooking series on RUclips.

okay first off, Sohla and Ham are always a delight to watch together because they truly seem perfectly matched for each other and are also both so talented!!! But second, their outfits today are my favorite. Such good colors happening in the shirt/apron combos

it's really refreshing watching them being so positive about each other's ideas, most cooks have really strong opinions and dont accept different ones (myself included) and they seem to really understand and embrace eachother.

Ham and Sohla have made me want to go out and buy cornflakes again. I had a big box of cornflakes in my pantry for YEARS because I only ever used them as a topping for a cheesy potato casserole I make. After I finally managed to use it up, I never bought another box again, because I didn’t want to be stuck with the same problem again. Can’t believe I didn’t think about frying chicken with cornflakes or using it as a crumble topping. These two are truly creative geniuses in the kitchen.

Love Ham and Sohla! I don't use cornflakes, but my mind also went straight to fried chicken. I should definitely pick up some after seeing how many wonderful dishes can come out of it. Sohla's technique for mac and cheese is my favourite way of making mac and cheese too, sometimes I get even lazier and don't even transfer it to a new pot, and just bake it in there.
We cook potatoes (cut up into chunks) in the microwave in a covered container with a bit of water. It just takes 4 minutes from start to end and you have perfectly steam cooked potatoes.

Cornflakes are maybe too easy a mystery ingredient, but DAMN everything looks so good! And it was nice to see Ham and Sohal relax and have a good time.
