I feel like Sohla is such a people person. She seems to bloom when she's interacting with someone, whether that's Claire or Brad in the old days, Kendall in the Babish Kitchen, Rick or Erin on Food52, or with Ham right here. I'm so happy that this channel saw this and made it a regular thing (weekly even!)
@@vigilantcosmicpenguin8721 right! they also work together , they dont try to steal the show from one an other. like they make content because they like it not for popularity sakes. its so great
I love how polite they are to each other. She said "thank you" for opening the oven door and he said "you're welcome". He said "please smash the potatoes". They are just so kind when they speak to each other. It's so lovely and refreshing.
I love them!!!! Sohla's food dreams are incredible, but before she only had an hour, and one set of hands. It feels like she and Ham together can accomplish anything. Their creative energy, their combined problem solving skills, their practiced division of labor. It feels like we are invited guests at an impromptu house party. Their enthusiasm makes my mouth water- they are just as excited by the new weird adventurous stuff they make (pickle cake) as they are about their tried and true favorites (fried pickles). It makes me excited too.
I have to admit, "Look at that ratio of pickles to cherries; it's like a dream!" is not a sentence I expected to hear when I woke up this morning. And that's part of what makes these two such a delight! NYT, we need more of these two. Much more.
Ham is so sweet!! Sohla wanting fried pickles yet putting those secondary in order to focus on the cake. Then Ham saying the pickles aren’t secondary to him!!
sohla and ham are just quite literally the most attractive couple. makes my heart so happy seeing a couple work together so confidently and gracefully.
I love that for the last 8 minutes they went semi chef mode and started repeating how much time was left and what still needed to be done. What a great team!
My favorite part is when they repeat what the other said. They both do it and it's adorable. I also feel like it's a chef-y thing where you call back so you know the order was heard.
It's 100% part of the restaurant world. If you work back of house, you'll hear things repeated 5 times just to make sure everybody is on the same page.
i know theyre speaking english, but i also feel like when they're talking yo one another it's in a language on they're privy to 🥺 they inhabit their own world so beautifully together
I am obsessed with this series now! Adding Ham was such a genius move! Ham actually brings out Sohla’s personality more and not that we haven’t seen Sohla and known Sohla but Ham compliments Sohla in a very amazing way! I love them both together in this show! Don’t ever stop this NYT! This is my favorite show and i’m commiting my time to it now!
Love their chemistry, Sohla is always good -- these two together is refreshing content and a new perspective! A healthy relationship with good communication in team work just makes it that much better.
I love the call and response! You can tell S&H have been restaurant chefs and have worked together a lot. Thanks, NYT, for delivering Sohla and Ham in such delightful packaging.
I am SOOO glad Ham is involved! It’s like the whole episode is our favorite part, when they would play off each other (before he went back to the bedroom). This was a fantastic move!!!
I think even tho its a silly challenge, something we can all learn from this is how to think a bit harder about what to make when you see something on sale at the grocery store.
Loved Sohla since I first saw her, now I know. When I'm too tired too cook I've give myself permission to call popcorn dinner. And now I know I'm not alone.
Y'all are an absolute delight, as always. I don't know what's more iconic, "Look at that ratio of pickles to cherries! It's like a dream!" or, "In the spring, we only eat ranch."
These two are great. I love the format of this show. Considering how good he is and the chemistry he and Sohla have on screen, it's surprising that Ham hasn't been on camera before.
I think because it was Sohla's thing that she fell into at BA, he fully supported her and let it be hers. I wonder if he did this by himself he would still have the same outgoing personality or if he feeds off her energy, ya know?
I am dying to know how you all met- because you’re perfect for each other. No wonder you always come up with amazing recipes.😊 Great team work! Looks so delicious! (👏🏻 Time to chug pickle juice!)

So glad you brought Ham on. It seemed like more chaos and less enjoyment from you before now it's very relaxed. You two have great chemistry and I hope you do many series together!
I love that Sohla and her hubby Ham are getting the screen time they deserve you fully get to see how knowledgeable and talented they are! And how much Sohla was wasted at Bon appetit! Like these videos are incredible! Super creative and I LOVE their dynamic! Huge huge fan! Lots of love! 🥰🥰
I know lots of people have already said it but having both of them on for this challenge is great! Sohla is always a delight to watch and makes improving on cooking feel more accessible, but add Ham and it's just even more fun! :D
I just want to say, I love these two. Finally filling up the hole that BA left in my heart. Just wanted to echo what someone else said that this is the best Cooking show on youtube currently!
My life was elevated once I started marinating chicken in half buttermilk half pickle brine. Really most marinated food is better with pickle brine, and even people who HATE pickles love it. Also its really good for cramps and nausea.
I drink it when I’m hungover 😂 Game changer! Edit: also - just add it to existing vinegar jars you have or use it as vinegar once your pickles are gone. Saves you a bunch of money and it actually can have more flavour than standard vinegar :)
Put hard boiled eggs in pickle brine for a few days. Keep refrigerated. Eat sliced. Brine can be reused 2-3 times before it loses its potency. Pickled eggs were my favorite food as a kid and I've never stopped loving them! Now my husband is hooked too.
It's like MasterChef mystery box 2.0. I remember watching this show with only Sohla on and experiencing second hand panic for her, but with Ham the mise en place is so efficient and it balances the entire time management required for this. This is my new favorite thing to watch. Great job Sohla and Ham and the Team.
absolutely love having ham in these videos! please keep him on. the dynamic, creativity, and skills of these two combined is through the roof and so so fun to watch
Fyi I love the close up angles on these older versions of ham + sohla,, please consider taking this filming forward on their videos. Would hugely appreciate xx😊
I don't know why but when Sohla asked to borrow the salt at 3:28 felt like such a power move. 🤣 Also, them wiping down the counter in the end really shows that they are true food professionals. 😍
It is such a delight to see this beautiful couple in this super adorable show. Thank you Sohla, Ham, and NYT for bringing a sweet, quiet moment to our lives. More shows like this plz.
As much as I love seeing Sohla and Ham cooking together, I'd love to see one episode where part of the secret ingredient revelation that they'll compete against each other in separate kitchens.
This is great to binge watch. Each show you get more insight into how Ham puts flavors together. Sohla is much more relaxed. Now she doesn't have to shout to Ham to come in and help. He's part of it all.
good segment. nice to see two chefs working together. hard to find kitchen teamwork like this on youtube. feels like im about to sit down for a fun family meal. also its just sweet that they are married
I just watched all of their 2 chefs episodes. Whoever thought of this...AMAZING. I love them, they are so good together, I really hope this becomes a regular thing!!!
Automatically one of my absolute favourite shows. Truly love their kindness, creativity, brilliance, joy, thoughtfulness. Just fantastic. A wonderful light for all of us. [Sohla talking about her popcorn addition during the ancient tibetan recipe and pickle-everything here - it's a theme!]
Been stuck in lockdown (in Melbourne) for what seems like forever and Sohla’s videos are what has been getting me through. Honestly, the highlight of my week. I really enjoy watching Sohla and Ham work together in the kitchen, bouncing ideas off one another. Wish my partner had an interest in food like I do!
Easy-peasy if you are Russian!!! 1. Russian salad (also knows as "olivie") 2. Two russian soups for a choice: Rassolnik or Solyanka 3. Azu (beef stew) 4. Shortbread cookies based on pickles marinade. All meals included pickles as important ingredient.
Love Sohla already but Ham is the addition this series needed. They have amazing chemistry and it's so fun watching two expert chefs who work together so well be pushed to be so creative.

I love how everyone agrees that Sohla is 10 out of 10 and the added Ham pushes it to 13.
Adding Ham to a Sohla cooking show is like adding ham to a cheese sandwich. The sum is far greater than its parts.

They’re honestly relationships goals. They work together with ease. There’s so much love, understanding and respect between them.
Ham reassuring Sohla that making fried pickles and ranch was not a secondary task for him but a priority made my heart melt

I love how they keep repeating each other. It's like they are each other's echo. Seriously couple goals.
that's more of a professional kitchen thing than a couple thing :) that's how you let someone know you heard/understood them.

Still curious to know about hams third least favorite ingredient
I saw him holding a piece of paper towards the end and thought the reveal was about to happen, but no, it didn't

That “tartar sauce inspired” salad looked incredible. Definitely going to try to recreate it.
I love Sohla’s laugh. So contagious
