ever since Ham joined , this show got super fun. like Sohla is amazing but them together is so fun to watch.
I feel like Sohla is such a people person. She seems to bloom when she's interacting with someone, whether that's Claire or Brad in the old days, Kendall in the Babish Kitchen, Rick or Erin on Food52, or with Ham right here. I'm so happy that this channel saw this and made it a regular thing (weekly even!)
It's like, Sohla is cool enough on her own, but then Ham is like having a second Sohla.

I love how polite they are to each other. She said "thank you" for opening the oven door and he said "you're welcome". He said "please smash the potatoes". They are just so kind when they speak to each other. It's so lovely and refreshing.
I love how everyone agrees that Sohla is 10 out of 10 and the added Ham pushes it to 13.
Adding Ham to a Sohla cooking show is like adding ham to a cheese sandwich. The sum is far greater than its parts.

I love them!!!! Sohla's food dreams are incredible, but before she only had an hour, and one set of hands. It feels like she and Ham together can accomplish anything. Their creative energy, their combined problem solving skills, their practiced division of labor.
It feels like we are invited guests at an impromptu house party. Their enthusiasm makes my mouth water- they are just as excited by the new weird adventurous stuff they make (pickle cake) as they are about their tried and true favorites (fried pickles). It makes me excited too.
They’re honestly relationships goals. They work together with ease. There’s so much love, understanding and respect between them.
I have to admit, "Look at that ratio of pickles to cherries; it's like a dream!" is not a sentence I expected to hear when I woke up this morning. And that's part of what makes these two such a delight! NYT, we need more of these two. Much more.
sohla and ham are just quite literally the most attractive couple. makes my heart so happy seeing a couple work together so confidently and gracefully.

I love how they keep repeating each other. It's like they are each other's echo. Seriously couple goals.
that's more of a professional kitchen thing than a couple thing :) that's how you let someone know you heard/understood them.
Love their chemistry, Sohla is always good -- these two together is refreshing content and a new perspective! A healthy relationship with good communication in team work just makes it that much better.
Ham is so sweet!! Sohla wanting fried pickles yet putting those secondary in order to focus on the cake. Then Ham saying the pickles aren’t secondary to him!!

i know theyre speaking english, but i also feel like when they're talking yo one another it's in a language on they're privy to 🥺 they inhabit their own world so beautifully together
I am obsessed with this series now! Adding Ham was such a genius move! Ham actually brings out Sohla’s personality more and not that we haven’t seen Sohla and known Sohla but Ham compliments Sohla in a very amazing way! I love them both together in this show! Don’t ever stop this NYT! This is my favorite show and i’m commiting my time to it now!

My favorite part is when they repeat what the other said. They both do it and it's adorable. I also feel like it's a chef-y thing where you call back so you know the order was heard.
It's 100% part of the restaurant world. If you work back of house, you'll hear things repeated 5 times just to make sure everybody is on the same page.

I think even tho its a silly challenge, something we can all learn from this is how to think a bit harder about what to make when you see something on sale at the grocery store.

Loved Sohla since I first saw her, now I know. When I'm too tired too cook I've give myself permission to call popcorn dinner. And now I know I'm not alone.
I feel like such a monster for throwing out my pickle brine all these years while these two treat it like its liquid gold.
Add onions to it for pickled onions
My life was elevated once I started marinating chicken in half buttermilk half pickle brine. Really most marinated food is better with pickle brine, and even people who HATE pickles love it.
Also its really good for cramps and nausea.
I drink it when I’m hungover 😂 Game changer!
Edit: also - just add it to existing vinegar jars you have or use it as vinegar once your pickles are gone. Saves you a bunch of money and it actually can have more flavour than standard vinegar :)
Put hard boiled eggs in pickle brine for a few days. Keep refrigerated. Eat sliced. Brine can be reused 2-3 times before it loses its potency. Pickled eggs were my favorite food as a kid and I've never stopped loving them! Now my husband is hooked too.
I drink the brine as a probiotic for that good gut bacteria. Also use it to make dirty martinis
These two are great. I love the format of this show. Considering how good he is and the chemistry he and Sohla have on screen, it's surprising that Ham hasn't been on camera before.
Perhaps he didn’t want to be before. Not everyone wants to be in the limelight.

I think because it was Sohla's thing that she fell into at BA, he fully supported her and let it be hers. I wonder if he did this by himself he would still have the same outgoing personality or if he feeds off her energy, ya know?

As much as I love seeing Sohla and Ham cooking together, I'd love to see one episode where part of the secret ingredient revelation that they'll compete against each other in separate kitchens.
I thought "what a terrible idea!" until I realized it would wholesome and they'd help each other -- even more than a GBBO episode. That's okay then.

It's like MasterChef mystery box 2.0. I remember watching this show with only Sohla on and experiencing second hand panic for her, but with Ham the mise en place is so efficient and it balances the entire time management required for this. This is my new favorite thing to watch. Great job Sohla and Ham and the Team.
