    Hey Phil. Love the vids as always.
    Got a question for you. I’ve noticed a lot of MMA fighters and boxers (even and especially pros) have rounded shoulders sometimes even full on upper-cross. I understand your working a lot in the Sagittal plane and anterior muscles are going to likely be stronger than posterior. My question: is this something that fighters would benefit from fixing outside of maybe reduced injury risk? Is there some sort of advantage to staying tight through there? Increased power or speed?
    Hope you’re staying safe brother. Lots of love

    • @PhilDaruStrong
      @PhilDaruStrong  3 года назад +14

      Yea unfortunately a huge amount of volume is placed on the anterior chain in punching and grappling based movements which is why we do spend a ton of time on thoracic mobility and posterior chain development. Again it’s always a working progress because your literally fighting with years and sometimes decades of inefficient motor patterns. On the other hand we don’t want to totally take away from their game or their technique so we do enough to where we can at-least reduce the risk of injury but still allow them to work their style and technique

      Good comment.My rotator cuff tendons were hella fucked.Had to do a ton to fix that shit and a lot of time off training too which sucked.I think if you stretch the chest and front delt regularly and dont do the heavy weights low reps type of training for overhead presses and chest presses it wont be that much of a problem but i used to do them all the time.Its good that these athletes have a professional to guide them on what to do and most importantly on what not to do.If you do strength and conditioning training on your own you better do a ton of research or learn from your mistakes although the second option could be very costly.

      @@PhilDaruStrongnow if I wanna incorporate 5-5 minute rounds on the heavy bag is that something I can do before or after a session like this. Or do you not recommend incorporating that with the strength and conditioning?

    I used to train in the same way to increase the strenght in esplosive movements...I Also imply calestenics for the " resistent-strenght" trx, cross fit.... and at the end...very long bag section with the jacket full of Weight on the back....good work.

    Can the exercise at 2:18 be performed with right hand pushing , right knee on the ground and left foot on the ground? Or is there a danger of injury?

    • @rorycreane7581
      @rorycreane7581 Месяц назад

      It's not about injury the idea is that its harder with legs straight out in front of your core, lowerback etc and isolated to just the upper body

      Pressing while sitting on the floor use more midsection. Pressing with lunge position will be more similar to the punching movement.
