The video was very satisfying ... at first ... and then I was in a sad place, I know those feels, so let me make you feel better. It took me 6 year to build a car once, I sold it for $45,000 then that person resold it for $80,000 and the next person resold it for $160,000 ... feel better yet? Haha

That's why you gotta do the Gotham Garage method. If you haven't watched Rust to Riches on Netflix then you need to. They build a car around that much BUT then they do the best they can to trade it to someone that would compromise and give them something more valuable(which is kinda what you did trading it for less money than you should have). So they basically go to someone that wants what they built and would lose for it instead of someone that just wants to get something to resell or a dealership that wants to make profit.

yeah, that was his mistake and at least he's owning it. I've been "talked down" by people before and never again. I will opine that I bet the people at cars and bids are former car salespeople and are masters at talking people down.
You could walk into any dealership, the car you want is the grade A numero Uno most valuable and sought after vehicle on the market today. Buy it, take it in next week to the same dealer and the same salesman will tell you "it's a piece of shit, it's not worth anything, you have to accept 50% of what you think it's worth".
I never sign a purchase agreement without a "subject to _______s approval" (used to be my father). That gives me an out. One sales rep said to me once "what's the matter, you not man enough to make your own decisions"? I looked him square in the eye and said "fuck you" and walked out....WHERE YOU GOING....."as far away from you as possible" he just blew 3 hrs of his time and a sale.......

Take heart, Elliott. Often dealership owners buy special cars for their own collections, even though they are bought through the business. The cars are impeccably maintained. We can hope that is the fate of this red menace. I know of one dealer tried to talk a customer out of buying a new car, but she wanted air conditioning and power steering, neither of which was practical to add to her showroom mint, original and unrestored 1961 Volvo P444. "I have a massive emotional attachment to this car". Sells after 11k miles because he wants to spend money on things he's REALLY "emotionally attached" to, (and thinks a Prius might be a better car). BTW, if Carmax offers you $47k, that means market value is likely $2k more than THAT. And if you're concerned about losing money, buying a brand new car, taking the depreciation hit, then selling it at 11k miles will lose you money EVERY TIME, genius. Rich guy moaning about $2k. lol But the intro was VERY well done and your daughter is precious.

I wanted to sell it on cars and bids but I ended up selling the car a few hours after the auction ended to a local buyer who absolutely loves the car. I bought my dream car on cars and bids so I really wanted to sell a great car on the site. O’well. You gave some great advice. The real problem is the site's insistence on wholesale reserves and then not honoring it by doing the "close enough, we'll cover you" trick. Yes, that sells it, but a lowball auction is something you WANT a reserve for for exactly that reason - it gives you an "out".
Also, there is no option to exclude bids to private parties only. This is a feature that none of the sites have, unfortunately, so half of the bidders on ALL sites are flippers, rebuilders, and dealers.
So it's basically a fancy auction lot most of the time and you should just put an add in Hemmings or put a price on it at a car show if it's actually special and you want it to go to the next owner directly.

During the same time, I posted my 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 in Cherry Mica with 120k miles in perfect condition on craigslist and it sold for $7300.
That's 13% more than what cars and bids sold a similar car for and I'm glad I didn't go with cars and bids. It took me 3 weeks until I found the right buyer from Craigslist and I actually sold it before the cars and bids car was posted.

I think I need to go see a therapist. Something is definitely wrong with me if I watched a 17 minute video of a guy upset that his car isn’t going to go where he wanted. Where the hell do you expect a car you’re selling, to go? WHAT IF you DID in fact sell it to a hardcore car enthusiast? How do you know the other buyer was going to take care of it how you wanted or not? There are people with all kinds of cars and they don’t care and don’t take care of it, so it shouldn’t be a thought of yours. That guy could have purchased it and crashed it the next day. Boo hoo. When you are selling it, you have no say in who gets it or how they take care of it, from your comment of “as if I had done nothing.”
Also, as someone who has worked at four different dealerships, You never know the owner of the dealership could be a hardcore car enthusiast and make sure that he was the only one ever to touch it or clean it all the way to the lot. I’m from the Midwest, but what the hell is a “lot boy”?.... i’ve heard of them being called porters, prep team members, and valets, but a “lot boy”?...
Carmax offered you more money than cars and bids got you… How much more money were you expecting over Carmax on a 5 year old Hellcat? If you truly wanted more, why didn’t YOU list it on craigslist or whatever? If you were super attached to this car, you should have kept it or list it for what you really wanted. This never needed to be a video, and even if it did, it surely didn’t need to go on for this long. You explain why you’re upset but then added multiple times that it’s your own fault. I don’t think it’s a bad thing to post and display mistakes you’ve made on social media(s), I don’t have a problem with that... but you’re dragging it out and talking just to hear yourself talk so you can slap the ads on your videos front to back to generate more revenue (which is what I see on over 90% of your videos), which I think is a bullshit way of doing RUclips, WHEN you’re video is completely idiotic and time-wasting. If you’re going to make a video 10 minutes or longer, it should be filled with information throughout the entire video.
I’ll also bet you Doug DeMuro watched this video and probably shit his pants laughing at you. Though, I gotta hand it to you... I am thoroughly shocked that you have an “in” with the top dogs on RUclips. You had to have been friends with these guys before they blew up.. like watchjrgo, tyler, and everyone else. You’re able to make clickbait bullshit videos and you talk to them and hang out with them on the regular... good for you! I busted my ass making videos of my own nice cars with my own nice camera equipment, pouring my heart and soul into them, and I got NOTHING. So yeah I’ll give you that for sure! Is that all I need to do to be famous, blow up, and get monetize, and make a living off of RUclips? Holy shit I’ve been so fooled.

Personally the problem might be that the widebodies and the black hood's are now the hot stuff when it comes to the challengers, as it does look abit generic, I mean dont get me wrong the hellcat FIXED the challenger body where it just looked, wrong, and now with the demon, and the widebodies it takes it up a notch, but I guess main thing is now to keep track of the vin number, take down the sellers information, and then if you really miss it in a few years look for it again
either that or buy the buyer out, or write down everything wrong with the car and look for a replacement after you've upgraded your fleet that checks the boxes of not having what you hated, and having what you liked about it
like a dodge charger hellcat 4 door, as you said you've got a kid now, or look for an outgoing shelby gt350 or the last of the C7's given the value of those must be plummeting now
plus if you rip off a bumper or two, you can only improve a C7 given it looked like a corvette ran into a pontiac aztek and a firebird at a curb, and then the guy who did it quickly tried to tape it back together before the owner got back.

Cars and Bids, like every other auction site, is not your friend. Most sites will tell you to list the car with NO RESERVE. How was a $45K reserve in your best interests? It wasn't, and the people running the site are out for themselves. They are not trying to help you get a great price, they just want to make sure they get their fees, and keep up their stats.
Why would you "trust" Doug Demuro, when he is strictly out for himself? It makes no more sense for a buyer to "trust" Doug Demuro to get him a great deal. Cars and Bids is agnostic about who gets a good deal, and who walks away a little lighter in their wallet. All that matters is that Doug gets his auction fees.

He rolled it a month later. Hint: The pain and resentment you feel right now will NEVER go away. Ever.
