      @vyderka the video of wrestling holds, throws, trips, arm pins, and neck cranks allowed under London Prize Ring Rules. 1838 to 1892 will be getting filmed over the next few weeks. You might also find interesting the video I did with pat on Jujitsu pressure points using the Yawara stick. Check it out. All the best. Dan.

      @DanOldSkoolConditioningMan I've seen it, I'm quite a fan of palm sticks in general, but mostly as strike enhancers, and I find them surprisingly useful in wrestling/clinch as they help to grab and pull the limbs or neck. Anyways I'm not a fan of using pressure points at all, yawara or no yawara ;)

    • @DanOldSkoolConditioningMan
      @DanOldSkoolConditioningMan  6 месяцев назад +1

      @vyderka Yeah definitely a strike enhancer for sure. We realy just did the video as a bit of fun to test out with minimum force what works and what doesn't with pressure points. It was a fun video to make as me and Big Pat from the gas works laughed all the way through, even though some were very painful lol.

    Brilliant video...I study Shotokan Karate. It is very useful. It will help me with my Karate practice actually. Because I also like Victorian boxing...It possesses so many practical examples of boxing for self defense techniques. It would be benefitial to the Karateka to cross - train with this style of Pugilism.

      @martinarmstrong9312 Thanks for the like and your comment. I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. Did you see part 1? There are more Victorian boxing videos on the channel that I think you will enjoy. One I had a lot of fun making was JuJitsu pressure points with the Yawara stick to see what works with minimal force. Some really hurt, lol. Then we finished the video with mixing yawara striking techniques with bareknuckle boxing.. If you want, I will put the links up in the comments. Thanks again Dan.

    Interesting how this compares to Wing Chun. Thanks, from Mesa, Arizona. U.S

      @DanOldSkoolConditioningMan  6 месяцев назад +1

      @michaelmcbride1204 Yeah, there is so many similarities with Wing Chun. Both use bottom three knuckles and the parries for punches 4 and. 5 are very simular to fook sau. Forgive my spelling of the technique. It's over 30 years I did wing chun. I might do a comparison of the two in the future as I do think it would be interesting to explore.

    Nice analysis. There are indeed many similarities between karate and 19th century boxing (I say this as having practiced karate since 1970). Just to quibble, I have not seen any karate people performing a back fist as you do in the first example, a raking strike as in boxing's chopper. However, the way some karate people perform the backfist in some of their kata, a chopping like rake could be a possible interpretation. So perhaps there's nothing necessarily wrong about how you've interpreted it. It would be done off the lead hand, however.

      @haffoc Glad you enjoyed the video, like I said, I'm not a karate expert, so I will acknowledge your greater karate experience. For the back fist, I came across it in a karate video and was equaly surprised that it was simular to the downward raking backfist of bareknuckle boxing. I have a limited experience of karate and just assumed it was from a different style than Shotokan. Thanks for the feed back constructive, educated criticism is always welcome. Hope you enjoy the channel.

      @@DanOldSkoolConditioningMan I had not thought of the particular kata move as a chopper, but I see now that it could be. So I learned something new.👍

    Have you tried doing Bareknuckle on the Wing Chung dummy??

    • @DanOldSkoolConditioningMan
      @DanOldSkoolConditioningMan  6 месяцев назад +1

      @michaelmcbride1204 no but interesting you should say that as a friend is in the process of making a victorian boxing dummy based on the wing chun dummy, when it's finished I will do a video trying it out.
