I was born and raised in Detroit. Been here since 1965. I've seen it go through some very hard times but...Finally...it is on the upswing. I cannot believe the changes that have taken place on Cass Avenue (Cass Corridor when it was one of the worst places to be in Detroit), Cork Town and Brush Park. I drove through Brush Park maybe 5 years ago and it was nothing but a desolation zone. Acres of empty land and abandoned houses and building. A couple of years ago I drove through it once again on my way to downtown and I thought I had made a wrong turn. The architecture and building that was going on absolutely floored me. I didn't even know what to say. It was and is beautiful. Keep in up Detroit. You are on your way back in a very wonderful and impressive way and I can't wait to see what happens next.
My husband's nephew bought one of those historic homes on Edmund Place back in the 80's with hopes of rehabbing it. Unfortunately he passed away before he could finish it. I saw the house in the video. Good to see the area doing good.
It’s wild too me. Downtown and the areas around it look much nicer than when I was a kid, but parts of the city are sill a no go zone. 2 different worlds.
@ I left Buffalo 40 years ago and always hope for the best of the other rust belt cities. Detroit is really making a go of a renaissance. I was rooting for them when Amazon was offered Lake Front property.
@@TRULIVINGMICHIGAN OR simply people who can’t afford these places. Aka a big percentage of Detroit. But sure, move them out the way so that the “ people who work hard and earn that living” can live there 😂
Apologies if you have discussed in prior videos, but can you go into why international people want to move to Michigan, let alone to this part of Michigan?
People might complain about the prices, but nothing was happing to these places and they took a gamble redoing them. I will take this compared to what it used to be.
Life can often be compared to a double edged sword. On the one side, I applaud the vision of the City government to modernize downtown Detroit and its surrounding neighborhoods, but on the other side of the coin, it’s a travesty that they demolished so many historic homes in FAVOR of modernization. Even you commented that you often get clients who want to be in or near the downtown area, but they’d rather be in a historic structure ( one with both character and history), than pay top dollar for basically square housing with glass and quartz countertops
Realistically, I dont see these houses / condos getting occupied in the next years. In this economy in Detroit, the vision they see doesn’t involve Detroit Residents. Nice houses though
You always have to watch your back anytime of day or night , late night walks can be dangerous and asking for trouble if you’re by yourself, unless it’s about being close to work why would you want to live like that .

It’s amazing to see how much Detroit is changing!
Detroit rocks! Thanks for the great video!

Was it one of the houses that has been remodeled?
@TRULIVINGMICHIGAN yes. We went and looked at it around Oct 5th. They were still working on it. They had scaffolding on the front of the house

Yup, still more progress on the horizon.
Detroit needs to double its population to make it happening again.
Gradually, but it will happen.
It’s happening. One step at a time.
These are shockingly expensive given how much further the city has to go. There are empty lots all around this neighborhood.
It is expensive, but that's a good sign! Things are changing and prices are a result of that.

Brush Park ... was a ghost neighborhood. A really ghost neighborhood! It's very urban today. A place to share. I wish I could afford to live here.
Looking at old photos of it compared to today is pretty wild
You make it affordable to the elite.
Those who have worked hard to earn that living? Is that what you mean?
@@TRULIVINGMICHIGAN OR simply people who can’t afford these places. Aka a big percentage of Detroit. But sure, move them out the way so that the “ people who work hard and earn that living” can live there 😂
Lots of new homes. Where’s the grocery, hardware and drugstores? Seems to be lacking basic necessities.

Same!

They restored as many as they could, some buildings were not able to be saved.
I don't think they demolished it in favor of what's there now... they saved as much as they could due to economics
Would be cool to have some builders try to build some modern/historic homes. It would cost a pretty penny but I think there is a market for them.
I 💯 percent AGREE !
The low millions? So affordable! For ……..wealthy people.
They sure are building a lot of higher end, but the lower price points are being built too. Just not in brush park.

get your CPL like everyone else throughout the city trouble makers know what time it is in outer neighborhoods folks are packing heat for protection.
@ you’re right.
Stay in your back 40, Billy Bob. You're full of it as far as the restored, busy, SAFE areas of downtown and midtown......they are BOOMING and SAFE.
@ best you stay out of my back 40 !
@ yeah go take a walk .
Millionaires Row!
Location is prime!
