Kalamazoo here.. nice video but no mention of the Asian and Arab restaurants. We often go to Detroit to several of those neighborhoods to eat Asian food. Usually it’s a group of us. For instance, we go to an Asian restaurant near Detroit Shinola that sells Asian breakfast called Dimsum. We also go to a rather nice Vietnamese restaurant just a block or so from the Little Caesars. Have you tried any Asian restaurants in the neighborhoods that you mentioned and if so, any to recommend? Do a segment on the new upcoming Asian town that Detroit has approved to bring back alive. Years ago, Chinatown was removed to make way for the highway. Now there is a consensus by the residents, including Asian groups who relocated to the suburbs, to bring it back to life in downtown Detroit. The city also had contributed $$ toward it. I saw the master plan too.
Born in Detroit, lived in Berkley, Ferndale and Dearborn but moved to Traverse City 27 years ago. Love getting back to Detroit now days, videos are great to help me catch up on what’s going on there. I’ve been down to a couple of Lions games recently.

I am a native Detroiter now living in Kalamazoo. For 20 years, I lived on the Gold Coast next to Erma Henderson Marina, on the water and close to downtown. I am eager to see more affordable housing for all the long-suffering Detroiters who have supported the city. It is a great place to live.
Great video as always ! ,thanks for visiting us here in Detroit, you picked out really great neighborhoods that are all wonderful to live in, and thanks again for visiting our Lafayette Park neighborhood. We just love this place, so many things to do , so diverse, wonderful people, very cool, mid-century, modern architecture ( you did a really good job of showing the Mies van der Rohe glass townhouses, before moving into the 1300 high-rise,, lived in one of those courthouses with the backyard for 10 years , absolutely incredible places, some relatively reasonable to live in around Lafayette Park, which is a big feature and we walk to everything, whether it be riverfront downtown, restaurants, all the pro sports, meijers, you name it and and Eastern market. Tons of walking, biking, running all at our fingertips too. Thanks again.
Excellent video you picked really great neighborhoods to review and did a fabulous job on displaying the various attributes and the architecture and a very realistic evaluation of each neighborhood. There are indeed wonderful places to live in Detroit. Thanks again for visiting our Lafayette Park neighborhood, you did a great job looking at the Mies Van der Rohe mid century modern glass townhouses. Lafayette bldg. , diverse, great people, walking distance to everything in the city with restaurants, stores, culture, tons of walking, running, biking areas with a Dequidre Cut and riverfront and Meijers and Eastern market just steps away. We walked to all the pro sports games, too, and incidentally, even over to the Red Wings by the way 👍. Great video
Ok. Here’s a few more. Sherwood Forest. I used to babysit in some of these homes. Beautiful! The University District by the University of Detroit, where I grew up.
I was born in Detroit and considering moving back for retirement. I currently live in Australia. Looks like the city has changed since I grew up there in the 60’-80’s
@@bcusaaus4749 The lions are doing good. The dirt isn’t really tbh I was just there most of it is still a dump. The downtown got a new building tho you can live in it and look at the endless ghetto

Hi, I agree that Detroit should get credit for the awesome turnaround that has been happening. Too bad the guy from the channel, The World according to Briggs won’t give any real credit, he makes negative comments about it often in his videos.
Watching from Lis Angeles, CA. I've been wanting to move out of state for a very long time. In fact, finally planning a move for this spring to either Texas or somewhere in the midwest, I'm not sure where. Then the fires happened, and I really just want to get out of here as soon as possible.

For sure. It's been on my list. Been waiting for a nice home to video tour so I can do the neighborhood and house tour in the video. Not too many homes come for sale though.
Enjoy your videos. I live near Palm Springs California in Cathedral City. I visited Detroit recently after not visiting the city in 50+ years. The weather would probably hold me back from leaving California. However, Lafayette Park interested me. I've seen listings for a co-op at 1300 Lafayette. What are your thoughts on co-ops?
Watching from Chicagoland (Naperville, IL) But grew up in MI and still have family there. Really considering moving back but need an area that is family friendly with good schools (we have a an almost high schooler and a middle schooler) Any suggestions?
There’s a lot of them. Birmingham, Northville, Troy, Novi, Rochester Hills, Ann Arbor, Brighton, Dexter, Plymouth-Canton…All are great. Lifestyle and amenities as well as cost is something to consider as well. Reach out anytime 734-746-5001 or info@trulivingroup.com
My grandma's house was across from Mudgies (now cement over) I was baptized Holy Trinity. Then lived a block from St Anne de Detroit Mexicantown, again now part of Ambassador bridge ramp. Moved Lincoln Park . Dearborn and now live in Northville. Glad to see Detroit finally make it after so many attempts. Note: gay gentrification is a big part of this story.
Please work on your pronunciation of Detroit nothing says Im not from Detroit than some who pronounces it DE-troit like it’s two words. Drives me nuts. Other than that love your videos as someone who has watched this transformation it’s great just wish I would have bought 10-15 years ago. Thanks and please no more DE-troit. One word let it roll off the tongue 😁
