Yep folks, we live in a time when a basic "work truck" can start at 46k BEFORE options, oh the "good ole' days" when at "work truck" started around 20k....
Even single cabs are starting to be $40k, absolutely insane.
Ok boomer
Hmmm.... Ram 1500 truck started at $21,000 in the year 2000. The truck in 2000 didn't have half of these features. The median income in the United States was $35,000 then. The median income is $60,000 now.
Seems to me that the purchasing power for vehicles anyway, is very similar
Yep - you can buy a nice truck but you can’t eat or pay rent.
In 1999 money, this car is equal to $23,000.
$52k for that is crazy. I have a 2018 F-150 Lariat with the 502a luxury package, the special edition sport package and the 5.0 V8, among other things. Paid $33k. Only 80k miles, which is nothing for that Coyote V8. Cannot imagine paying $20k more for a base model truck just because it’s newer. There’s nothing that truck can do that mine can’t
If I was to lease a ram I would go for the hurricane rather than the pentastar
52 grand is steep for a Tradesman V6, in my opinion. It is a Night Edition, right? You usually mention that in your vids 👍🏾.
They should've got rid of the pentastar instead of the hemi.
@@marksman4004 I second that.
Hemi has more problems *tick tick* you can shove your "should've gotten rid of the Hemi" right up your rear end you queers
@DodgeDakota2004 man I would really love for you to come say that to my face. You got balls online but not face to face.
I will happily take the pentastar V6 over the new hurricane i6, it has more history behind it and is more reliable than the new engine.
3:27 I really like how the tachometer even reads the speed of the engine when it is starting. That is really cool. Watch it closely. And the fact that it doesn’t just jump up like so many cars do today. That’s one really cool feature that I’m glad it has.
52k for a work truck? I hope that POS sits on the lot for a full year.
It won’t. You should easily be able to get 8-10k off msrp.
Anger = ford owners living at the dealer
Car dealer told me when I was 17 yo (71 now) that there’s an ass for every seat!
White truck with Every thing black that's so cool love it
Can you get it with crank windows?
I don’t think any vehicle sold in the past 10-15 years was available with manual windows. Not like dealers would carry them.
Does the tailgate lock?
Does the backseat arm rest have cup holders?
Which truck has the most comfortable seats?
Ty for sharing, pricing aside, in my eyes this feels more like a express or big horn not a tradesman ready to be placed on a job site ... Neat truck over all, I like how it looks.
Hope they put better oil coolers on those and something better for penny tick
2025 Ram 1500 Tradesman 3.6L V6 eTorque 8-Speed Automatic Night Edition Crew Cab 4X4!
Can get a Sierra 1500 Pro with a 5.3L V8, 20" wheels, 4x4, and painted grille and bumpers for $54k
Why anyone would buy a Stellantis product with this _DOG_ of an engine is beyond me.
Maybe because the new Chevys are junk and the Ram is nicer looking? I saw 2 new Chevys being rollbacked to the dealer this week. The big 3 really need to concentrate on vehicle quality if they want to charge these prices. It’s sickening that super duties cost around 100k now.
@@one24mike Looks are subjective and I guarantee the 5.3 outlasts the 3.6. Your anecdotal evidence does not equate to "Chevys being junk" - especially when compared to the absolute garbage put out by Stellantis. I'm with you on car prices being out of hand tho.
Nicest base model pickup for sure. Idk if I'd really want the V6 in a full size, but id be willing to test drive it.
Ram is done with V8’s (allegedly), so if you’re dead-set on one, get a Ford or a GM
Well I have to say for 52 Grand I think that is a fair price for that truck. I can't believe I'm going to say something good about ram but got to give credit where credit is due
To get an actual V6 engine naturally aspirated is a hard thing to get nowadays with no turbo hopefully it's going to be reliable down the road. I got to give Ram credit for keeping the naturally aspirated V6 engine. Now the only question is is it going to be reliable for the next 10 years?
@@westcoastronnieOC714 The Pentastar has been around for quite some time.
wow the freeways in Utah are sure different then here in New Mexico maybe Arizona might have the same freeway design system as you guys in Utah.
Work truck is for working people
No one can afford that
Ridiculous
Ram and Dodge are going to be the first to die
I am already seeing Challengers for 4 G less than earlier this year
This will not sell
I've been considering getting a Chevy Custom, my local dealership has one for $42k, it's an extended cab and 4x4. A buddy of mine has the 2.7 in his 2020 Sierra, he has 157k miles on it and no issues with regular maintenance. Thoughts?
The 2.7 seems to be doing better
Get it. That’s a good price with 4x4.
I like basic, less stuff to break, but still too expensive.. Especially with 2 less cylinders .. Should b $40k max…
What a beast! That V6 will do burnouts all day long!!
@@marcmcphee 😂 😂
Plenty of power for 95% of its use. Also factor in the added power from etorque. 305 hp was formidable less than 10 years ago. Trucks dont have to be aggro.
I can get a 2500 Chevy with a 6.6l gasser and Allison transmission for that price.
I mean listen, it’s better than a 4 cylinder because it would be strained by its turbo and isn’t even gonna be able to deliver that all that power anyways. The V6 will do just fine. It’s more about the transmission tuning than it is the power output. Plus, 5,000 pound vehicle. AND it’s a work truck, not a race car.
Whats the model of your tripod? Looks nice!
It’s a piece of junk
No screen for the pasanger? 😂 whats going on here?
Did we get a beard trim?
Yes
Can get them around 35K at mark dodge. Best Ram dealership in the nation.
@@mdaddy336 A used one?
@@briandonald no sir, they heavily mark down their new vehicles. They’re the most popular dealership in the nation for custom orders as well! I’ve heard of people getting 20K off msrp
Oh nice the crappy NA V6 lol
I test drove the pentastar and I did not like it,just my opinion
Reliable motor but I can't believe they still put this in a full size truck. Not enough torque.
Four-wheel drive it should be an option it shouldn't be standard equipment
Nope. It adds about $5000 to the price and uses more gas. Most truck owners seldom use it, so we shouldn’t be forced to buy it.
With the independent front suspension it runs on CV axles which go out at about 164,000 MI and can get pretty pricey to replace
@@alexfry9114 oh i read your post backwards. Yes, its an option. 4x4 isn’t standard.
How much you want to bet it cost to fix it if it breaks
Ending with V8 they shot themselves in the foot with such a move everywhere I hear that nobody wants V6 I think it was the worst move I suspect that either we will see the return of the V8 very quickly or poor sales and trouble.
these trucks could be used around the world as trucks but greed has these companies killing the American truck buying public with these past ridiculous prices. no truck maxed out 3500 should be over 22,000 dollars. america should be shipping to every country in the world. more jobs than we have ever known. for 60 -100K people buy bmw, Audis, Mercedes... and they rebuild somebody's piece of junk that kills the market for new.
Good looking Tradesman, but it's $10k more than I paid for an almost fully loaded 19' Laramie with HEMI. Crazy what #BIDENFLATION has done to our beloved truck market.
Well you just said what you paid for your 19 Laramie. What was the sticker on the Laramie? Lets compare apples to apples, you will certainly get a discount on this.
Check your politics. Prices go up over time not down. Candy bars used to be a quarter. It's not Reagan's fault.
Honestly, if you classify a vehicle as a work truck, then it needs an engine to match. You can't do much work with a half ton truck that has an engine that can't produce fuck all for torque.
