She didn't really care what engine it was yet it had all the power she needed and was really good on gas. I agree on tow mirrors, I have 2016 ram with normal mirrors and they work just fine for towing occasionally.
On my F150 when occasionally towing our 7-1/2 foot wide RV trailer we use Snap & Zap mirror extenders. Work great & less wind noise than OEM tow mirrors
Gotta admit, Heather does a better review than 90% of the reviewers out there. She just gives a real-world, no-shit, honest take on the vehicle she is driving without embellishing it with "but what about this or that?". Rotary shifter? Whatever, no big deal. Oversized mirrors? Yep, they're in the way for normal driving.
Seriously, who can even afford trucks anymore? Most people that need a work truck, which this one is, cannot afford to pay 60k for it. Out of control prices.
1646 lbs sounds about right for a 4 wheel drive crew cab Ram for payload on a tradesman. The Tungsten with the high output Twin Turbo i6 usually only has 1100 lbs of payload, where as the previous Hemi equipped trucks when loaded would cap out at 900-1000 lbs of payload.

I really want to see what your wife thinks of the RHO you have ordered. To me, this truck seems way more luxurious than my current truck, 2011 Ford Ranger and a 2004 Dodge 2500 before that, yet familiar enough that I could get comfortable with it quickly. The payload wasn't bad considering I've seen some Ram crew cabs with a listed payload of 1,150 lbs. What I'd like to see, to give me peace of mind, is to have the major service paid for. The larger service that requires pulling the cab off the frame. (To get at the Oxygen Sensors and other items.) Throw that in and I'll take the risk on this new engine.
Fun fact, that tradesman when equipt with that iniine turbo is a tenth of a second faster zero to sixty than the old sport truck SRT10 with the dodge viper engine.
You guys are the same people who bagged on the old generation Tundra for being basic and only doing truck stuff. Now we have trucks full of tech that aren't overly reliable and complex. We all know down the road these trucks won't last. So why did you bag on trucks way back then?
Well the fuel mileage sounds good. When i heard they were going the 3.0 route that was my hope "dont care about a 500hp 6 cylinder". Its priced too high though. Should be mid 40's at the most. I bet they are already marked down.
Tow mirrors on half ton trucks look ridiculous in my personal opinion. Also, end of April I got a 2024 Ram 2500 Tradesman Hemi with quite a few bells and whistles (so it doesn’t look and feel like a work truck), for 49,700. Insane that this 1500 costs almost 10k more! I've always liked the 5th-generation RAM 1500. When I was considering half-ton trucks in 2021, the RAM 1500 was one of my top choices. However, Stellantis's acquisition of the brand gave me pause. I'm concerned about the potential negative impact of Stellantis's corporate culture and priorities on RAM's future, and I wouldn't be surprised if the brand eventually goes out of business.
