This is going to be a treat for me. I HATE sitting around at night without my wig. I know my husband doesn't care, but *I* do. And of course I don't want to wear one of my good ones. A heartfelt thank you, Denise. I can't wait to make one out of a wig that I almost dumped in the garbage. Smoochies to ya, woman!
I've been watching you for a couple of years and was going to post you a question on this exact thing when I stumbled on this video. Thanks for all you do for wig wearers.
I have seen these wigs everywhere for a fortune. Xlnt idea. Gonna give it a go. Maybe with a rigid hair band????-got a few of them, and I think I got an old wig in the craft cupboard…. Maybe mix a few colors……. Ohhh the options to be made…….. thank you….
What a cool idea! I'm new to wigs and just ordered a headband wig that I think I will like after buying two regular wigs I didn't like at all...I do love headbans also so thanks for sharing.
I have bought 2 Paula Young braided headband wigs off ebay and no one knows they aren't my hair. They are helping me transition to wigs. My hair is thinning but these match my bio hair color and are believable. I've told a couple friends and they had no idea. Even my SIL who wears wigs didn't know.
I cant thank you enough for your kindness. I wish I would of heard about you years ago . Your empathy is noteworthy. Not everyone understands the emotional distress involved with losing ones hair. I have many questions but as your videos come out Im finding answers. Thank you with all my heart😁💕
I've been repairing my wigs forever.....I've been a wig wearer for over 20 years.....and had not thought to do this with a headband! You're brilliant my dear! Glad to have found your video!
If you only knew this was a great idea you an your daughter came up with to do a video on this. This is so popular right now. I was searching for a video on how to make this and yours came up. Glad you made it. It gave me some wonderful ideas. Thanks for sharing!
Great idea Denise, thanks for sharing! If you decide to make another headband wig, maybe you could make a video while you’re making it. Your reviews are so helpful.
Hey, Sonia, did you ever try to make one? I really want to try another and got some fabric glue to try it, I just haven't made the time (was thinking about getting a super cheap wig to practice on).
Sew a white elastic band to the wig about 6 inches less your circumference and then where different color headbands on top! A new spin on half wigs with head bands!
I have cerebral gigantism, which basically means a bigger than average large head, ready made wigs do not fit. After watching this I added an elastic band to a very cheap Amazon wig, along with altering the cap size. It feels so much more comfortable now !!! I can wear wigs!!! Thanks for the tip.
Great idea! You could use E 6000 as well but it would take just a few minutes longer to dry enough to let go of it. Or you could use clothes pins to hold it on place until it dries completely.
Thank you! Someone else recommended that stuff and so I bought a tube of it but just haven't tried this again to be able to use it... but I have a few projects wigs just sitting for me to work on them so I'm sure I'll get to try is sometime. ;)
So Funny I just today on another one of your videos asked how JR January compares to Editors pick, I guess I know now, lol. I have a Estetica Wren that was fixing to be trashed and I think I will try this for her..Thanks for your videos
I know this is an older video, but I was researching trying to make my own turban with bangs and found this. I have a couple of wigs that I cannot return that are just not me. I thought for "house wear" I would try to make it. Have you tried that before?
Please show us the steps on how to turn a regular wig into a headband wig. I bought this human hair wig that looks hideous on me but I think I can make it work if I can transform it into a headband wig.
Hi Deise, Just a thought, what if you left the hair on the temple tabs? would it look like a loose curl in front of the ear? does that make sense? lol. Thx, Tina
Great! I have gone swimming in it a number of times with no issues whatsoever. It still is quite itchy on the forehead from the glue, but wearing a wig grip takes care of that.
Absolutely! I can exercise, swim all of it. I actually haven't worn it since our vacation in January because I haven't needed to. I'm sure she will get some wear now that it is summer.
You can.... but I wanted something that I could swim in and would not have to worry about the headband moving. I was pretty new to wigs at this time and since then have discovered 3/4 wigs and those work great... with a full wig the part under the headband can be really bulky which to me is uncomfortable and looks obvious.
I would love to know how to do that.... I'm afraid it would be too ambitious for my skill level though (I can sew on buttons that have fallen off but that is about it).
Denise Sheets I don’t know how to use a sewing machine but I use just a basic stitch on my wigs and it works just fine. A basic stitch is super easy to learn.

Thank you so much!! I really appreciate this!
This is great! I've purchased half wigs and sewed headbands on with weave thread/needle. Looks great 👌
I would love to try this again using a different method... and doing that on a half wig would be perfect!
I love that you thought of doing this to a wig. Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Great idea Denise, thanks for sharing! If you decide to make another headband wig, maybe you could make a video while you’re making it. Your reviews are so helpful.
You bet! I have one I'm debating about whether or not to make a headband wig or a halo wig to wear with hats out of her....
You are a girl " after my own heart " ... so glad you were able to use this wig... ❤️✝️🙏🏼😇
Thank you, Mona!!
@HeyWigSister You are a Genius Sister! Love it! It looks really cute and good! 😍💓👊
It looks so natural
Oh my gosh!! Love it
Thanks! I've never gotten up the courage to try another but maybe someday I will! :)
Oldie but goodie Denise! 😉
you can go to michaels and get a few appliques, pins ,or patches to hide hide the glue marks :)
This is genius!! I'm going to try and make one too! Thank you!!

Omg...great idea! I'm definitely going to try this!!!!
💕

Great idea! I am going to have to try this, THANK YOU!
I love it! I already have a wig that will probably end up like this. Great idea for the beach.
Awesome!!
absolutely brilliant! I'm really loving your channel!!!
Thanks!! I need to try this again sometime.
Aaww you are so lovely. Hugs from the uk😘😘
Thank you, Nicky!! Hugs back!
Grest job! I have 2 that I will be modifying
Awesome! I have to try another one now that I have more experience wig wearing.
Thank you; that is all I was looking for.
YAY!! So glad! I really need to do a project like this now that I am more experienced with wig wearing.
I have a few wigs ... Thank you for sharing🌹
Thanks for watching!!

@@heywigsister it is a bit stinky at first but goes away.

I love it! Like you say no info on how to make these. You have beautiful skin, btw.
Thanks, Patti!! ❤️

What about flexible, washable fabic glue? Great idea! Super video! Hugs from Hannonville!
That's a great idea!! I will look for some for my next project.
Please show us the steps on how to turn a regular wig into a headband wig. I bought this human hair wig that looks hideous on me but I think I can make it work if I can transform it into a headband wig.
Hi, Viviane. I will put that on the list of to do videos. Thanks for the suggestion!
Hi Deise, Just a thought, what if you left the hair on the temple tabs? would it look like a loose curl in front of the ear? does that make sense? lol. Thx, Tina
Hmmmm.... that's a good question! I bet it would!
Thanks for this video
You bet!!
How has it held up?
Great! I have gone swimming in it a number of times with no issues whatsoever. It still is quite itchy on the forehead from the glue, but wearing a wig grip takes care of that.
Use a fabric glue like Aleene’s Ultimate
Great tip!
So its been a few months, how has it held up? Can you exercise in without it falling off?
Absolutely! I can exercise, swim all of it. I actually haven't worn it since our vacation in January because I haven't needed to. I'm sure she will get some wear now that it is summer.
Im confused. Cant you just put a wig on then put a hairband on top of the wig?
You can.... but I wanted something that I could swim in and would not have to worry about the headband moving. I was pretty new to wigs at this time and since then have discovered 3/4 wigs and those work great... with a full wig the part under the headband can be really bulky which to me is uncomfortable and looks obvious.
I would sew the headband on instead of the glue... sooner or later it will come undone,,, sewing will last longer...
I would love to know how to do that.... I'm afraid it would be too ambitious for my skill level though (I can sew on buttons that have fallen off but that is about it).
You should have sowed the band on it.
I would love to learn how to do that.... such a cool skill to have.
Denise Sheets I don’t know how to use a sewing machine but I use just a basic stitch on my wigs and it works just fine. A basic stitch is super easy to learn.
@@jazminearceneaux7452 Thank you for this! I will do some research.
boil the synthetic wigs for 5 mins. Hang dry in your shower. Next day spray with d-tangler. It will go back to the original style.
I have heard this from a few others, I am totally giving it a try on an older wig... can't wait to see what happens!
OMG! That sounds scary! Would like to hear how that works for others.
