@@sergioajbs1840 This is arguable. Prime Faker is ahead on mechanical skills and macro decisions against his counterparts back then, just like mentioned in the trailer: "he is ahead 5 or 6 years". This would really define how strong Faker was in his prime. Take note, Faker started playing League competitively which doesn't have the concrete system on esports organization that applies today, and limited knowledge of the overall gameplay because League was pretty much growing, unlike today with multiple sources, simulations, and well-renowned analysts that can be utilized to spoon-feed the players of what to do and what not. If I say, Faker is a genius for discovering things and establishing at one point how League should be played while Chovy is a prodigy, absorbing all of the skills possible to become the best.

Chovy up until his GenG days was just known as the insane CS guy and that's it. GenG losing to BLG in the quarter finals was absolutely embarrassing meanwhile T1 and Faker had to beat the best team in the world in the semifinals. If Chovy/GenG can win 2024 AND 2025 Worlds back to back then we can start talking about Chovy being possibly better than peak Faker. GenG's roster last year was mind blowingly good and they couldn't step up to the task of getting to finals meanwhile T1 and Faker did. Until Chovy wins back to back Worlds I will never view him on the same level as Faker. He may be individually better at the moment but Faker pulls up clutch when it matters. Chovy has yet to win a single Worlds. Let's wait until he AT LEAST wins 1 Worlds title before we start saying he's better than peak Faker okay?

I do believe Chovy has the potential to be the next Faker, but he needs to prove himself as someone who can win multiple International Tourneys. This years MSI was a great step.

They said that about TheShy, about Showmaker, Tian, Doinb, Ruler, Crisp, etc. Just about every player that has had a pop off year and won Worlds has gone on to fall off a cliff the next year and never return to the highest level of play. Faker is the only one to have not done it not just 1 time, not just 2 or even 3, but 4 times now and his 4th Worlds win last year was 7 years since the last time he won. League is basically an entirely new game compared to back then. Items, runes, champ reworks, summoner spell rebalancing/changes, map changes, dragon/soul changes, baron/herald/grub changes, etc. etc. This is a historical fact that should show you just how unlikely it is for there to be another Faker: League has had 14 years of esports. The only non-SKT/T1 player to win Worlds more than 1 time is BeryL with DK/DRX. Every single other 2+ Worlds winner has played on SKT/T1 and Faker is the only one to have done it 4 times. So in 14 years of League esports only - 1 - non-SKT/T1 player has won Worlds more than a single time. Chovy will have a massive mountain taller than mount Everest to climb if he wants to challenge Faker's legacy.
