We bought ten acres on the very north side of Williams two years ago. We love it here. Quiet and friendly neighbors who are also on five and ten acres. Two fire departments that are close by. An Apple Gate river dip is five minutes away. Hospital is 20-25 minutes depending on if you hit the few traffic lights or not. The Hidden Valley market is well stocked and 12 minutes away us. As a career military family we have lived all over the world. Williams Oregon turns out to be the perfect place for us to have landed permanently. Oh oh oh! The late afternoon breeze that comes down into the Applegate valley is delicious.
Fantastic video again - nice you added the amenities, and travel time to the nearest larger town - it's so helpful for someone not familiar with the area.
Spent 2 weeks this summer checking out Southern Oregon, (2 days in Klamath Falls, a week in Emigrant Lake, and the rest of the time in Rogue River.) Despite brutal unseasonal heat, and garbage air quality from the fire, it was a great trip. Talent, Rogue River and Shady Cove were definitely the charmers. Gonna have to check out Murphy, Merlin, and Williams next time.
LOVE Shady Cove! I grew up there. My best friend still lives there. Wish I could get back there more than once every 4-6 years. Great place to grow up. My only complaint nowadays about it is the really bad cell phone coverage. (At least last time I was there)
Oregon has thrown their whole hand in. It's crazier then commi cali. I won't even travel anywhere near there. Reason why the eastern half of Oregon wants to concede and become part of idaho. There lies another problem. Idaho is changing do to all the common cali folks moving there. Central Nevada is paradise to me..
Economy going nowhere like the past 40 years, excessive heat, wells going dry, high crime and drug use to go with unlivable wages....... No reason to move to So. Oregon unless maybe you're a multi millionaire.
No dont move to Oregon. There is nothing here, um there . This state, I mean that state really sucks. we are all, i mean they are mean people in that state. You wont like it,. there are no jobs there so if you move there plan on bringing some jobs with you
While I like your comment and see the humor in it, that last part about jobs seems quite accurate from where I'm sitting. I plan to move there next summer, I have been looking at jobs in my field for a couple months and it's looking bleak. Jobs are very scarce in number and the pay is abysmal compared to where I currently live and what I currently have. Job availability is cut in half, I'd have to work twice as hard and compete with 5 times as many people, all for the privilege of making one-third of my current pay. Yikes! And if you knew where I was moving from, you'd think I was absolutely insane. Frankly, it's scaring the crap out of me. I may be setting myself up to make the biggest mistake of my life. Time will tell, I guess.

I have heard southern Oregon gets terrible smoke from forest fires all the time; is this true. I have lung issues so it is an important issue to me.
