There are not enough jobs in Eastern Oregon to attract people to the area. In addition the closest good Hospitals are hundreds of miles away.

Most people do not realize there are future plans for all land in Oregon. Before you buy any property check what the future plans for that area are. Learn what the zoning is scheduled to become not just what it currently is. I worked for a developer that worked on the planning for the next 20 years and there will be extensive growth just look at the new "South Hillsboro" project & the extensive development in the "Bethany" area of Washington county as well as the "Roy Rogers & Schools Ferry" areas. All of these areas were farm land 10 years ago now they are thousands of new homes. As the urban areas fill up with new homes and the lands are full they will expand to the rural areas as time passes on.

My dads neighbor's homes across the street are 50 years old, no foundation, leaking roofs, 1/4 acre lots, 800 sqft and $365k the other went for $460k. My dad's house is 10 years old and they permit the shit out of him every step when he had it built, right down to charging an $800 occupancy permit fee just to move in when it was done. Ridiculous... Neighbors called the city when dad built a wheelchair ramp for my mom in her final days to have the city check for a permit to build. I think if there were less permit requirements and every county administration not wanting their piece of the money would help lower housing costs & people continuing to buy them at high prices keeps the market high 🤷🏻‍♂️

Housing regulations are very state and regional. It's not clear to me that federal/presidential changes have any effect on that. Mortgage rates are controlled by banks and based on the Federal Reserve's rates, which is also not related to who is president. This video seems like a lot of wishful thinking.

As of today 12/1/24, GP homelessness is not as apparent as it was 1 year ago. They have been removed from Riverside Park though easy to see them sitting around various places in the town. We residents have spoken up and will no longer tolerate this unsightly behavior in our beloved town. Drugs and alcohol remains a problem with them of which there is no clear solution, but we will never give up. For starters there must be an end to giving them free needles and glass pipes. They need most of all the help of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Citizens and churches must speak up.

LOL I saw you miss the turn into the park. I'm from Cave Junction. Grants Pass is considered "The City" and usually we have McDonalds as a treat when we go there. A lot of coffee places and gas is cheaper. I went to visit the park with my mom who was visiting from Las Vegas and as of this date 12/1/24 the homeless have been removed from the Riverside Park.

Also, given that inflation is already back down to pre-pandemic levels, you should acknowledge that it's under control under Biden. The thing you forgot to mention is that a lot of our construction workers and Trades in southern Oregon are undocumented workers. So the price for that kind of work is gonna jump when Trump starts deportations. I think buying a house will be much more expensive under Trump.

When the economy tanks, businesses will struggle and have to downsize downsize or fail. More jobs are lost. A vast number of Americans will no longer be able to make their mortgage payments. They won't be able to sell their homes for anywhere near what they bought them for. Only option is to walk away. Foreclosures will skyrocket. The uber-rich have already divested themselves of stocks. They're holding liquid assets now (trillions in Money Markets). At the bottom, they will swoop in and buy everything for pennies on the dollar. THIS is Trump's plan. The greatest transfer of wealth in history. The rich get richer... while destroying the middle class and creating untold poverty.
