@@PlantCellTechnology is the traps falling off? from other articles they usually trim off the traps as they don't sprout new growth right? btw, from some articles, after the h2o2 / vinegar process, some ppl usually cleanse with sterile water, is that advisable? I mean h2o2 / vinegar on the ms media not good right? Thanks for all your awesome Videos!
@@momomeshtv7318 Yes, you are right! It's recommended to clean your explant, after treatment, with sterile distilled water to remove any chemical residue.
@@PlantCellTechnology it seems I had to fail, to learn, threw the plant tissues into the media without cleaning off h2o2 the first time following your videos, and the tissue just melted away into oblivion... HAHA!
What is the composition of the medium to grow Venus flytrap? Also, I see every plant you serialize with 1% bleach for an hr and then use 3% hydrogen peroxide ending with vinegar for 5 min. But for me every time I used 3% H2O2, the plant turned dark brown after few hours. How can this be prevented? Am I doing something wrong?
Oh! we haven't made an update however plants are thriving well in our labs. Will make a video on them soon in near future. So amazed to see your interest!!
@@maho9369 Hey Ma Ho, currently, we are working on many other different topics of tissue culture, as requested by many other viewers as well. So, didn't get the chance to make an update video on the plants. However, I will convey your words to Francisco for the update on the plant. Thanks!
Does anyone have advice on how to cut the venus flytrap explants( or not cut)? So far I did get some clean explants that atleast stayed green for the past 4 weeks, but they dont seem to form any new shoots or even callus. i used traps cut on both sides and pieces of petiol.
We do teach the skill in our master class. If you're interested, you can join the next one: plantcelltechnology.com/pages/master-classes The great thing about the class is that it's online, so you can ask as many questions as you like about tissue culture plants.
From building your lab (in case you don't have any) and equipping it with various equipment and tools, you need at least $500-$700 to get started in tissue culture.

Whats the medium you used? I don't think you said anything anout it when you placed the plants in
It's 1/3 MS media without hormones.

Is the 3% h202 at 200ml with the white distilled viniger at 1ml called Parasitic acid?
Need to confirm this with Francisco. Will get back to you as soon as he responds.

@Plant Cell Technology it isn't bud. I was asking if you was basicly making parasitic acid by mixing the 2 compounds to make the sterilising liquid.
