Dude you rock, All the other Tissue culture videos feel like armature vlog videos, or they explain well enough what Tissue culture is, but give no instructions for doing it. Your videos are put together so well and they convey the information perfectly! Thank you for making this information so easy to follow and understand! About to move onto 2 acers with my Fiance and I'm already planning on doing a large scale terrarium or maybe a wholeass greenhouse to see if I cant get a wall of Lepanthes telepogoniflora going =P
I've been growing Oyster, Shiitake, and Lion's Mane mushrooms for around 6-7 years now and also grow a lot of cacti from seed. I've been meaning to get into TC for some time, considering I already have most of the gear, materials, and experience with very similar culture work and it's essentially a combination of two of my existing hobbies. Now I just need to clear out some space for cultures. Thanks for the video, it's a good intro into TC and helped solidify my understanding of it.
Can you make a video on plant growth hormones? As homemade mad bioscientists we are still hobbyists and it would be very interesting to receive tips on safety and proper disposal of such substances. This is the only thing holding me back from purchasing your entire setup!
the banana protocol was me asking, and this is one of the links that was sent in response. This discord really does provide of resources and a bunch of people that really know what they're talking about.
Could you please do a video on the proper way to sterilize the explant before putting it in the media? I have yet to find a video explaining this step. I love your channel!
I like tree, now I only propagate by cutting and seeds germination and than Share those seedlings to people. I hope one day I can do plants tissue culture propagation like this too.
Hi plant lover! If I taste tissue culture media, will it be sweet, right? Do the pesticide regulators, like Benzylaminopurine, which delays senescence and enhances health-promoting compounds in harvested broccoli, pose serious health risks for humans? I enjoyed your new version of your Tissue Culture Beginer's Guide!😉😛🪴🪴
Where can the jars be found? Your link takes me to another you tubers blogs. I would like to purchase some. Where did your OG video go that brought me to your channel? It had a list of supplies in bio. Now i just get useless links to blogs or etsy links that dont have them
You definitely described it very simply and in detail. But i just don't understand why you wouldn't just grow the plant normally. I would really like to understand the benefits of TC versus growing a plant from seed or cutting
So, I’ve been using ketchup cups with mushroom cultures for a few years now. Does this still apply for this side of the fence? Just wondering about the size. I have glass, but I usually start in the cups and make the needed transfers until bobs my uncle.
I used to be a forensic scientist who attended clandestine drug laboratories. One of the more interesting ones was where a guy was growing magic mushrooms from spores in much the same way as you outlined. I think it was a penesis species but i was only qualified to confirm the chemical component psilocin. They were obviously mushrooms but i had to write something like "the vegetable matter contained psilocin" from memory. We were only able to report what we could attest was fact.
@@plantsinjars I’m mostly interested in extremely xerophytic cacti with tap roots. Something like Ariocarpus, Lophophora, Astrophytum caput-medusae, Pterocactus, etc. They are highly sensitive to moisture and are known to absorb water until they split open, which leads to disfigured specimens and rot. They also struggle to regrow a tap root from cuttings, which affects theirs looks, value, and ability to withstand drought. I’m curious how they cope with tissue culture considering the constant high humidity in the box, and whether they can grow a true tap root. Might have to give it a try myself. You’re definitely inspiring me to experiment.
@@morningstar8187lophophora and ariocarpus have been done TC. Also they’re more hardy than most give them credit. I grew lophophora grafting on periskiopsis for years hydroponicly and didn’t have issues with splitting. A friend of mine is a grower for NAC and does ebb and flow setup for thousands of lophophora
This is great information, it’s also very easy to follow. I can’t wait to see the cannabis TC episode. Thoughts on an autoclave for sterilization equipment? Is there a size or brand that is better suited for TC?
If I am using a plant already in tc, and put it in multiplication media, do i need to cut it up, or put the whole plant in? First timer so figured i'd take your advice and start with a plant already in tc.
I use the “Apera” brand, they make a replacement probe pen as well. It’s about 1/2 the price of bluelab, and i personally think equal in quality. I’m also using it daily, and many times daily. I have had the same pen for about 2 years and never had an issue. I will say that getting the PH pen storage solution, and weekly, if not daily calibration is a great way to extend the life.
This is alot to grow such easy to propagate plants like monstera I use Coco coir and perlite with a mix of nutrients and occasionally ga3 to propagate almost every plant your cuttings are big enough to go straight into a organic medium they will do much better aswell you won't be needing to wait so long for roots to grow just keep them in a container with high humidity I have my lights on 18/6 and I keep my fluorescent lights much closer to my cuttings then you I don't get contamination at all only time I use agar is for meristem culture which I would clean the plant material with a good blast of tap water then soak in a bit of hydrogen peroxide and water for 30mins then I strip most of the plant material away and just do meristem culture but that's for saving diseased plants but not just propagating them your set up is actually much better for mycology purposes you would do really well growing mushrooms
I don't think you're the target audience for TCs 🫠 they're used to mass produce plants. Mainly for nurseries. Imagine how painfully slow we would get plants on market if we had to wait for them to grow enough nodes to prop then grow and prop and grow and prop. Nothing would ever make it on the market. TCs are far more efficient and it's thanks to them we have the cooler variegated stuff.

This is wilddddd I never knew all this stuff
Thank you for the tip on cutting the roll of plastic wrap! Nice money-saver. I've been using paraffin wax strips
Regarding the monstera that was contaminated by touching the outside of the bag… why not spray the bag with alcohol as well?
Banger video!
Ever explore the plant defense system? They possible way that plant can protect itself from biotic & abiotic stress.
Could you do a video of how these guys from Thailand/Indonesia come up with all these new plants
Would be fascinated to see examples using riparian plants such as Cryptocorynes. I always found their inflorescence (?) gorgeous.

Great channel! thank you.
Would UV be effective to sterilize the media if using at the power used to kill pathogens in drinking water?
this was super informative. thank you!
I see lots of vessels with different filters built in to the top. Will these prevent me from having to subculture just for the sake of ethylene?
Can you make a video from propagation alocasia❤
Can you make and sell the agar mix? Very informative channel.
You look just like Pheobe Thunderman
Can you show us where to cut the plants to put them into tc. Also where to cut when multiplying. Zoom in to show us what you are doing.
can you use Reverse osmosis or deionized water instead of distilled water?
Is the same medium (Recepie) usable for Cannabis?
Could you post a link of the flow hood you use?
what plants would you culture if you could get your hands on them and why?
My question is this the same for Cannabis also?
I bought a fan to build a laminar flow hood but I’m too nervous to build it all the way out
Could you do a video about starting seeds in TC? Is that something that is done often?
I'm planning to make a seed vid soon

Is it possible to TC bougainvilleas. I have rare varieties I'd like to clone. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone in the UK know where to find the hormones?
I have a question. Do you use skoog with agar? Or do you use the skoog by itself?

All the links are in the description bar and they all work.
Why would the gel turn like grey blackish looking. is this bad? Should I worry.!!! well I popped the plant out did a transplant asap
It sounds like it may be contaminated. If you join the discord server and post a pic I can help more

You can grow a much higher quantity of plants with tc than traditional methods of asexual cloning like taking cuttings

If they’re autoclavable, they’ll work. Although you might find ketchup cups are a little too short for some plants in tc
Hi I run a whole sale nursery business. I want to establish a tissue culture lab my self. I need professional advice. Can anyone help in this ?
Is it possible for me to clone my own Monstera instead of buying TC plants from another source?
Yup! I have a monstera-specific vid
The iba link is 404. It's borked.
The Discord link does not seem to be working.😉

Or maybe "psilocin was detected in the vegetable matter". Since it comes from the phosphate ester which couldn't be detected by the methods we used
Oh yeah and there were tons and tons of jars. So mycelium in jars!
how beautiful 😍

Ever tried TC-ing a cactus?
TC some cacti!!! 🌵 Specifically trichocereus bridgesii monstrose short form!
I've done fairy castle cactus and some succulents (echeverias and graptopetalums). Cacti grow well in TC

How to contact mam❓
what if i drink the alcohol too?

Would a syringe filter work for gas exchange so it doesn't fill with ethlyn gas?
Do you have any documentation regarding pepper plants in tissue culture

Transferring the whole plant is easier if you are using a still air box
Is there any way u can hybridize them while culturing???
I've wondered this too
Los curious but I think plants have to be sexually-mature first to be crossed.
Thanks!
tysm!
Have you tried venus fly traps ? And how's the glowing petunias doing ?
I have a video on VFT's somewhere on the channel, so yes! And I don't have them anymore except for the one's I put into tc
@plantsinjars ok thanks.
What’s the best ph reader you’ve found? Can’t find any decently rated ones
The bluelab pen I have now has worked well for the past year. I broke a bunch of other ones before that. Unfortunately IMO it’s super overpriced

What temps are you storing the cultures in? Im over in Brevard melting away, so im wondering how you keep em cool!?
Madam your presentation is amazing
Hi can we use Tm media tm 341 nutrient agar for orchid seed growing
this science book is "FIRE" - never heard that one before
Can you make a video about tc of the musa florida?

With your method, 1 node = 1 plant. With tissue culture, you can get 10+ plants per node. It’s more efficient
