This is the most positive 5/10 review I’ve ever seen
Ya Boi Yeah I feel like he just wanted to keep the score as low as possible. It’s one of those albums where IMO for most people who are not a Stan or a hater it would be about a 7 or a 6, and that seems to be Anthony’s opinion too if you listen to what he’s actually saying.
Giving it a 5 however just about allows him to continue the narrative that “Eminem bad rapper now”.
I mean, he put Darkness in his best tracks of the week, so he clearly doesn't mind giving Em high praise. He clearly just rates what he feels and anyone looking for some ulterior motive in his reviews is deluding themselves. I mean he even mentions that some tracks he had to convince himself not to skip, though the whole experience was an improvement on Kamikaze. 5 is a fair score.
Ysiv review for logic was also pretty positive 5/10
Tom Williams Sure he likes an Eminem song here and there, but I feel like an album with skippable songs could easily be a 6 or 7 out of 10, especially considering the way he speaks about it here. The fact that it’s an improvement on Revival and Kamikaze for him isn’t really saying much, he really seemed to hate those albums. Giving Kamikaze a 4 and this a 5 doesn’t really reflect the improvement he actually describes in the review. The flaws that Revival and Kamikaze have don’t really dominate this album, they just turn up often enough to not give it an 8 or a 9 or anything.
And you can’t deny that Anthony prefers the narrative that Eminem fell off this decade. After giving MMLP2 a really positive review he never really mentions it and just states that all Eminem’s projects since his “first three” haven’t been good. He’ll give some songs as well as this album a relatively positive review too but in the end just end up saying “nah not good enough” by giving it a 5, even though he clearly doesn’t think it’s a bad album. (And yes, I consider a 5/10, or 2.5/5 stars to be a bad album)

When I first heard this album, I initially thought it was decent, but I found it to be lacking substance in a few areas. Then, it grew on me overtime and I listened to it a few more times and now I like it a lot more. I initially thought it was too much of a retread of Kamikaze, but when I took that notion out, it became a better album with time for me. Not every track is a winner, I did find tracks like Those Kinda Nights and Never Love Again to be kind of...blah, and I like the hook to Leaving Heaven, but most of the song was pretty underwhelming. However, I liked most of the stuff on there, even if the horror theme was inconsistent. I can understand why that may be a problem for some people, but I see this more as an Eminem album than a Slim Shady one, and I liked the various topics that were used in the songs. Some of my favorite tracks include Stepdad, Godzilla, Little Engine, Marsh, and Lock It Up, which has one of the greatest features Em has ever had in his songs in Anderson .Paak, whom I have recently become a fan of in recent memory. It is dumb in some places, but I find most of this album to be pretty strong overall, and even when it gets dumb, it never gets Encore levels of dumb for me (although songs like Rain Main and Ass Like That are a guilty pleasure for me). I give this one an 8/10.

I give this album 7/10 it grew on me in past 2 years its been out.
This album is his literally his best since a longgg time. I enjoyed every track. He’s 25 yrs into his career and I’m way more than impressed. Production was almost flawless. It’s my 5th favorite Em album. Yes, however good recovery is I don’t go back and play that as much as I bump this one. Replay value is just huge.
Eminem's production has been dead since Relapse.

I give this album a 8 tbh I only hated 2 tracks Fantano is just reading the lyrics and not actually listening and nitpicking bars that are a little corny and those bars are intentional and most rappers have 10x more cornier bars than that.

I loved the album but I would give it a 5 too, because it’s about rating every song altogether.
Lord Takyon I loved Godzilla, you gon learn, premonition, those kinda nights, stepdad, marsh. But the songs with Don Toliver and Young M.A. were horrific, little engine was trash and yah yah was just insanely bad. I listen to the album everyday, but with so many songs being trash, I give it a 5

Must also include the preceding line for context but people like this reviewer seem to miss a lot of context and train of thought. Just take fragments or like Jay said, do you listen to music or do you just skim through it. Either that or this guy is bias because most of his complaint or criticisms are what made the album great! Em has checked off on every category on this album although he can even with just one song, he didn’t miss. Sonically, lyrically, poetically, transparency, flow, cadence , hooks, beats , creativity ,personality, simplicity and complexity, adaptability, relevance, imagination, artistically, catchy, witty, consistency, entertaining, humor, etc. I can go on and on. Yet most can’t even do all that in a whole album let alone their whole career. At this point , this guys review is obviously preference , because Em did not miss on this one AT ALL!

Johnny Bravo look at it this Way while i agree Marshall mathers lp 2 is a lot better than Lil pumps album he gives albums a score of how good they do what they are supposed to do. Lil pumps album was supposed to have a lot of hits with it did. It had atleast 6 Huge hitsongs so it pretty much did what it was supposed to do and s bit more. Eminems album Got rated on the quality though and 7 was a good rating for that album i would probaly give it 7,5

After listening to this album all year as the super Stan I am I would give this album a 7/10, I do agree with alot said about this album but I thought the high spots were really high, the lows weren't great at all but I think a solid return to some sort of form for slim

I liked the album a lot, it had only two duds for me, In Too Deep, Those Kinda Nights. Stepdad is a guilty pleasure, the song isn't good, but I just enjoy it. It's fun. Although the hits on this album are really strong, Darkness, Leaving Heaven, Never Love Again, You Gon Learn, No Regrets, I Will are all great. It's imo his best since MMLP2
I liked Revival tbh. Kamikaze was fine, but I think this album is one of his best. Plus, the Side B is FIRE😩

I have been listening to the B side of this album, and I must say that I am impressed. Even though I haven't liked any of Eminem's albums since TES, and I certainly didn't like this one for artistic content, although I did like it for Eminem's amazing MC skills of crafting and spitting bars, I am almost changing my mind after listening now to 5 tracks of his B side. This is *significantly* superior to the MTBMB released in January. In content, it is slightly better than the original version. Not the Mathers LP for content, but definitely better than the OG version. But where this B side shines are the beats, the production and Eminem's flows. This is so sonically interesting and weird, with trambones, saxophone trumpets, E minor piano samplings. And Eminem's flows are so cadenced, flowing from pocket to pocket to the beat deliciously. Some times fast, some times slow, but also flowing masterfully with the pockets of the beat.
I am actually impressed by this. Nice job, Eminem!
He sounds chill, letting that screaming voice behind. And he's having fun with the beats too..I guess he's improving a lot. B side is also aging very good for me

@@trashboat353 Uh...I am not sure you would like that. My reviews of Revival and Kamikaze wouldn't be that flattering. My guess is you would unsubscribe faster than you would subscribe. Eminem has made some conceptually and sonically good songs since 2002, but not whole albums. His last really good album was TES. But I did enjoy the flows and production of MTBMB side B.
