for me his music feels like you're getting punched in the gut but its a warm comforting hug at the same time lol
I remember seeing him live in Mexico but not in a festival or anything, in 2019 he came to a small bar completely unannounced (I think he only posted a flier on instagram), he played to a small crowd but even still the place got cramped so the whole experience was pretty intimate and he took requests from the crowd, he even let a fan go up in the stage and play the guitar while he sang the lyrics, it was pretty sweet.
damn i am very, very jealous that whole experience sounds incredible. he seems like a pretty cool dude. thanks for sharing!

i love alex g!! its so nice to see people praise his wonderful work :) sarah is my favorite track by far, i found it in 2020 dueing a very hard time in my life and its stuck with me in a way very few songs have.

2:12 I love dsu so much, it’s definitely a lot different from trick but I really like how he used a pan flute in the instrumental. Some songs in trick have it, especially Sarah. Dsu definitely Harvey. They instrumentals is so similar and different at the same time.
Just started listening to Alex G, took me a ridiculously long time to correlate that he made Pretend, one of my new favorite artists though, and this video was a good help to get into what's posted on Spotify. Appreciate it !

I love alex sm, god save the animals is my favourite, its very different from his others but s.d.o.s is the best song on there imo!
i this GSTA is my favorite as well. he has such a dense discography… it’s very hard to pick!

Good choices to recommend. I already did my diving into the newest album after I saw him perform last year with alvvays. It was intriguing to hear his music live without knowing any of it.

i adore alex, especially Kute, and this was a nice way to branch out from Trick and enjoy his other albums. not a fan of Proud but i think it’ll grow on me- i’m just not enjoying the more modern sound of GSTA, his old albums sound so garage band-y and i’m so here for it
i totally understand what you mean about liking his older style. personally, i love how the production and song constructions were able to step up over time, but i’d be lying if i didn’t say his old stuff is classic! such a versatile and dynamic artist who continues to grow with each release. can’t ask for much more than that!

did you know, that axesteel was based on a dream he had about a band called axesteel and the song they was also called axesteel?! the only part of the song he said he remembered was the screaming. thats why the screaming is vivid throughout the song!!!

funny enough, i have never really been able to get into gorillaz too. im definitely not saying never though! maybe one of these days i’ll finally sit down and give it a shot.
